New skill at the end of 2013
I think jagex is taking the PoP update and using the archaeology concept behind it.

Comp Cape Help
The best first champ scroll to get would be from killing the goblins in lumbridge or the skeletons in the catacombs. Be ware that you will literally spend a week of 4-5 hour days camping monsters for the scroll.

New skill at the end of 2013
I know, Jagex should just put all their development time and resources into constantly churning out skills regardless of how shit they are! /sarcasm I know, right! There has been not a single good suggestion in years for a new skill. /sarcasm Honesly I think that archaeology skill would tie with runescape and future questing. Although I think it needs a name change.

New skill at the end of 2013
I think in due time we will see those crossover ideas come down. I feel jagex is pounded with so many concepts from workers and players alike. The issue is I think the people who design the game all have a view of the game and they want to put in those ideas and concepts without changing their vision. Another thing that comes to mind is that they might only be able to work on certain aspects of the game and don't want to stretch themselves thin in keeping everything together (although some can argue they can't do that even now). I think my biggest fear, if you can call it that, is that jagex might never pull everything together as make it all work effectively together. As far as I can remember runescape has always been somewhat like a collage of ideas handed down over a plethora of game designers. I've never really felt that jagex had a concrete system or at least that all their ideas worked together t a desirable degree of efficiency. While that does make runescape very much so unique and somewhat unpredictable I feel that the combat beta might test some of ther ability to tie together all the combat stuff that's underused or ignored (butterfly jars being an example).

Ganodermic beasts setup
I find myself a more relaxed player, but OVLs really are overrated for this monster. The only effective part from OVLs here is the constant 5 minute magic boost. The price on one sip of OVL is about 20k and, assuming he goes for two hour trips average that's a 480k loss from profits. To be brutally honest and keeping the facts straight ganos are a steady income, but at the same time they are very unpredictable with rates going anywhere from 1-4m an hour and that's if you get really, really lucky. I personally found myself gaining at least, after some lucky RDT drops, 1.35m and at most a 3.85m gain when I pulled a 5 magic seed, 3 yew seed, 2 palm seed loot among others.

I always thought eddie looked familar... Status update: C1's left with 573k to 109 dung. Bxpprod has got me thinking buying T10 gatherer and desperado is 'token waste' until I hit 120 dung and get hexhunter bow, respectively. So I decided to cut them out of the goals as well as saving my tokens for the xp to use on the last xp to 120 dung. Used my tokens to buy one of the few remaining rewards I wanted left (got it soley for the chimp ice runs):

Ganodermic beasts setup
Ok it seems like you have your gear set up, but I also want you to keep in mind that because you'll be praying mage the whole fight and they are weak to mage you'll want to use the best mage offensive gear. I will offer what I feel is the best setup, but some others might feel more emphasis on getting more of a prayer boost and say using something like akristae might be better. Head: ahrim hood Body: ahrim robe top Legs: ahrim robe bottom Shield: mages book/celestial surgebox Staff: polypore Gloves: spellcaster/cull. 10 gloves Boots: ragefires/infinity Ring: ring of wealth/seers ring/seers ring I Amulet: arcane stream/amulet of fury Cape: soulwars/god mage cape Every single fight you'll want to safe spot them so don't bother using the neem oil. There are several coveted spots that you'll like, but you can pretty much safe spot them from anywhere. The ideal setup might be to bring about 10 prayer potions, 1 summoning potion, 2 pack yaks or torts, and scrolls to bank if you feel like it or alch supplies. You'll also want to bring a few safety food because even experienced gano campers like myself can go semi-AFK, mess up the clicking thinking we caught them on the safe spot and die/nearly die from the gano's toxic AOE attack. You should be able to last for ever picking up pretty much all of the loot except you might want to dodge the obvious stuff like hops and allotment seeds so don't really worry about not having space unless you collect a lot of odd's and ends. You'll also want to keep in mind bringing another recharges worth of fire runes (15k, no pores as you'll receive more than enough to recharge) as you get more efficient you'll find yourself staying up to 4 or 5 bobs worth.

You make it look like their 10x update was to just appease people. I view that update as a baby step to where we're heading with the cobat update. I also view it as a current necessity because they gave us real whole numbers when their system truncated and rounded down. Now I can see how them saying this doesn't seem so believable because they didn't make the system use decimals, but I'm guessing they liked whole numbers more because it made things look more clean and smooth.

I'm waiting for some fanboy to remind you about Jagex's disclaimer on estimates and release dates... OOPS! Guess I'm that fanboy :P. @pui: Yeah I think even on 10x smaller grid system it would be immensely different. I would really enjoy seeing that, but one problem might be recalculating monster melee/ mags distances. I would like to see this in the very near future and would welcome it well as part of their Combat Update V2.

RuneScape Races towards Historic Milestone!
I think it's safe to call you 'friend' now... No really, with great respect to you, I agree with you and it makes me so irritated seeing such fanatical cynicism.

One can hope... I love the concept although it seems that the PoP concept kinda piggybacked off that idea and used the whole going out and "finding" things concept.

I can't express how annoyed I am that I've had no time at all to play runescape in the past 60 hours. I remember the days when I was young and my mom would try to limit my computer time. I used to get angry that someone would try to limit my time in the computer to under 3 hours... Now I'd be grateful to see even 90 minutes or more. Ok I got in 2/6 remaining abandons... Good teams too. I plan on buying a coffee after I leave work and staying up until I hit 109. This bad lad has been going in for too long. I'll also be getting T1-9 desperado web I hit it as well.

Should I sell my equipment?
Panic selling is common during these events. If you can see yourself using these items in the long term I would advise by selling them. The one thing I would look into is how often you use the item, how you view the possession of the item and could you justify keeping the item up to and through its price stabilization point. Some of your items may be going crazy right now, buy that's where the though of keeping them long term comes in. I am fairly certain that you won't truly know when a these high end combat items truly stabilize in both price and player use until a few months past the betas been over and set I stone. For all we know things could dirasticly change and that's why people are selling because they are afraid of loss. One think I always kept in mind is how I played the game. I found that I enjoy having the best gear. I also found that even though I don't PVM as much as I desire it gives me a sense of completion to this ever growing game. I feel compelled to push to obtain the best gear and for the most part I have reasonably done so. Because I hold those views I don't look at my gear as something I can sell... That idea remains beyond the horizon unless there is something so great and worth the loss to pitch my items. Should that case happen I end up setting goals of rebuying the items.

Squeal of Fortune "Updates" was: Spin Results (970 spins)
What a stupid argument. [hide]You were not the one who granted this person the ability to live, breath and exist. Everyone is entitled to live their life how ever they wish within reasonable moral boundaries. Should someone squander their earnings that is their life to life, full of their own lessons to learn. If you feel the need to state that someone wasted $200 on SoF spins then maybe you aught to consider this well kept remark: one mans trash is another mans treasure.[/hide]

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
How is it an unfair advantage if everybody has access to it? Maybe he was thinking in an overpowering sense where the player with the faster twitch-clicking of switching gear would still win out like it is today. Jagex stated they wanted the combat of their game to revolve around skill and use of gear to situations. They stated they are doing away with the fast twitch movements required to be efficient. In this case between pvm and pvp I can see how it might be a tricky situation, but honestly they've already made it where you can only do so many actions per game tick and there is a small buffer time between actions anyways (remember all the pvmers raging over not being able to sip brews and eat a shark in one turn?). Also if you got a slower computer that's really on you and not the game player. As for having armor switches on the hotbar I am fairly certain jagex will either keep it watered down to just one action per hotbar button and still enforce the buffer time between actions on the hotbar. I would like to imagine jagex allowing us to use chain commands on the hotbar or actions linked to the use of toggle keys+button click like in WoWs macros, but that's honestly too high an expectation for jagex. For the moment until they start pushing the horizon and have reached far beyond their beta testing lets stick to simpler ideas. Just remember how log it took them to implement multiple chats.

Damn I bought steads at a high price... Thought I had em when they were lower. I hear you on making money though. I need to buy my dragon claws back and get glaivens as well.

Yeah it has recently been happening since the beginning of the month. A bunch of people on w67 have been noticing increasing lag issues from the server.

Last Chaotic... Kind of sad because thats the last of the major piece of equipment. Think I need to break from dg soon to work on making some money. I still have that 35m debt, need to buy glaivens and re-buy claws because I think I lost mine to a friend getting hacked. Also... I can finally do my gravekeeper court case. Finished and got a barrister wig, but destroyed it... I have no room for that item. If I want it back I'll just get it back from the clerk. So far I have all 6 ab, 2 occ, and all my C1's left to do and I'll be lucky if I pull out 700k dung xp from them all. I currently need 1170k for 109... For those reading do you think it's worth trying to make up the last bit doing f24-29 large or not? Also I am now saving up to purchase t1-9 desperado which should come near the end of getting 109.

If its the one sticky from the forum mod I am fairly certain it must be true since a mod decided to sticky it.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
I view what den said as slightly inflammatory and extraneous towards the conversation of the combat overhaul. Its just as bad as all those kids and the quest boss pillar meme. On that same note most players act out against jagex because they don't meet player expectations at a regular pace. Either content caters to pvmers, pvpers, low levels, high levels... There is always someone upset and althought I understand the importance of everyone having a say so it can get annoying to see that everyone feels entitled to open their mouth instead of biting the bullet or often and running with it. This stands as one of the biggest reason people very much dislike even going to the rsof for. Another thing why on earth would a player see extra hotbars as a reward anyway? Surely they might feel their characters more decked out for efficiency, but act like you couldn't wipe your bar and set it up for your slayer grindfest, wipe it again and set it up for your pvm event all in a span of what... 5 minutes. After what we longstanding players have endured I am fairly certain a majority of them would have only expected one hotbar with much less usability than we will see in the future to come.

The Evolution of Combat: BETA discussion
I've already stated I believe that bar is the cooldown bar. Jagex has a tendency to undershoot the uses of their UI. I fully expect to see rick click options such as "Check cooldown" for the hotkey's. EDIT: Then again maybe we'll get messages in the game window stating "you can't use that ability for XX seconds" and that is our special bar... After all specials are being drastically changed.
