Legalization means sales will become commertial, i.e. companies begining to make marijuana cigarettes, all sales by law must be taxed, therefore when you go to the gas station and pick up a pack costing you $100, BY LAW they have to give $20 to the government. Oh and did I mension the taxation of growing it, the seeds, and the sales to the company and to the store? Dealers would no longer exist, they would be pushed out by big business...which is taxed...your dealer selling you the drug without giving a portion to the government is possible because that item isn't meant to be taxed. If you're smart, none of these things happen. It's all about moderation and knowing when is ok and when isn't. As for your friend, he either smokes like 5 joints everyday or he does worse things for your lungs. I know people that have been smoking casually for 10 years and don't have any trouble running.

Both are horridly bad for you due to long term smoking. Pot, unfortunately also had bad problems with too much (as does cigarette smoking) some of the effects of pot are: Brain damage (Loss of brain cells), you become less aware of things, sperm count goes down (no kids anymore eh?). And it tends to fudge up a persons life if you do it a lot, I have friends who smoked pot a lot during school, they now have to make up like 2 years of school because of it. So in other words, yes, pot is as bad as they say it is. Though in small amounts it's not bad. Same with cigarettes. Maybe read the articles with background information before posting next time. Sorry, but it has never been scientifically proven that marijuana makes you lose brain cells or make your sperm count go down. As long as you use it responsibly, it doesn't mess up your life. I get A's in honors and A.P.(advanced placement or college level) courses. I go to the best public school in Pennsylvania and I still casually smoke weed. When you smoke you have a choice; be an idiot, or do it responsibly.

If the patients are really in bad pain don't they usually give them morphine and such things like that? Sometimes. It helps people with lukemia(sp?). It supposedly helps them eat while acting as some sort of a painkiller. Marijuana is also used in patients with AIDS. It makes them have a better appetite.

I don't do it every week or anything like that. You have never tried it, therefore, your opinion is extremely bias. You need to experience something first hand before you can judge people on it. In my experience, you are one of few. All the people I know who do it basically see it as a need and hence they are dependant on it. And just to clear things up in advance, I've tried it before. Well, with me, I don't need it to have fun. I could easily do without it. I only smoke when I'm with a certain group of friends and I just want to chill out. It isn't a necessity for me. If I don't want to smoke one night, I don't smoke. If I do, I do.

Also, There is keef. Keef is the pollen off of the flower of the cannabis plant. It has the highest THC content on the plant. I know exactly what you mean :wink: Yea they can. They can be addictive, but not as addictive as cigarettes. Some smokers smoke a pack a day, 20 cigarettes. Some people who smoke marijuana only smoke 1 joint a day. So they both are addictive but cigarettes are far more addictive. While marijuana can be physically addicting, 99% of the time, it's not. Weed is a mentally addicting drug. In a lot of cases, people don't do as well in school, if they're smoking it regularly, because all they can think about it marijuana. There is no withdrawl (unless you are a very rare case) when you stop using marijuana. You may think you're addicted, but it's all in your head. It has been studied and proven, if you want a link, I'll get it for you. Look at the Dutch. Marijuana is not illegal there. Yet, the usage rates of kids 14-18 is lower than in the US. A lot of kids, in my opinion, start using weed because they want to just rebel. They want to go against what people tell them. It would be a thrill in some ways to do it for the first time. I actually like the smell of just unburnt weed. To me that's an amazing smell. I also read that. It was very interesting how almost everything they said were lies, all to get people to not do something they didn't deem fit. True, some people die while they are high, but look how many people die while being drunk! Look how many more deaths legal things cause than marijuana causes.

Ok well, basically this is a topic for discussion on marijuana use. Anything can be discussed. Personal stories to why it should/shouldn't be legalized. For some back ground. It may be true or not. If you go by the government view. Marijuana is bad, hence it being illegal. Another reason that marijuana is illegal in the US is because it cannot be taxed. There is no doubt that the smoke from marijuana is harmful, just how harmful, no one knows. I read the entire of both, and thought it was very interesting. I advise you to read it before you post also. To me this is a very interesting subject, seeing as I'm the age when you get bombarded by "Don't do drugs or else" teachings. Personally, I think it is a better alternative to tobacco because of not being able to be addicted(at least in 99% of cases). The reasons why it wouldn't be as good, is simple, it is illegal. In my opinion, it is safer for me to smoke marijuana than to drink, or smoke cigarettes. I'd like to keep it a discussion, so please no "It's illegal idiot, don't do it," posts. You'll ahve to define "drug" to make that statement, I would say there are many out there that are much less harmful...and the smoke from anything definately harms the body. The tallest man in the world died from a foot infection. :) If you read the entire article, it does say that the smoke harms you, but a casual marijuana smoker takes in an enormously less amount of smoke than other smokable product users. Also, by drug, I was talking about any tobacco product or illegal substance that is inhaled/eaten/injected/absorbed/snorted.

Marijuana is the least harmful drug to do. If you don't believe me, here. Heres the sight, and the quote. Well, it really depends on what kinda levels your talking about. Either way, I'm 90 combat and have my highest stat at 92 and I'm not bored yet so I have no idea.
