This is just starting to get ridiculous... I should just quit college right now, and work for McCain.
-
Yes, I'm not even one that wants to "buff up". It's why I "work out" everyday for 20-45 minutes, using light weights, using my body weight, and weighted vests. Density > volume for me...it's slower, but it is worth it :) The only problem is I know I'm not getting enough sleep. Stupid college :wall:

I don't count them anymore. I did for the first 2-3 weeks just to get the basic idea of foods to ingest, and foods to stay away from. It gave me a good insight of all the different types of foods, and which is good for what. The weekend is far more lax...typically because I'm drunk though :P

Well I hope when you say "I drink a lot of milk," that it's skim milk. 2%-whole milk certainly doesn't "do a body good". 35% of it's calories stem from fat (2% milk), and 50% (whole). All of my meals contain at least 20g of protein. Egg white omelettes (2 eggs) with 1 slice of cheese is about 15 grams of protein, and 2 slices of bread + peanut butter is 18 grams. My salad with tuna has 21 grams just from the tuna. Bean salad has about 20. Protein shake has 2 cups of milk (16 g) + .5 cups oatmeal (5g) and the protein powder itself, which varies. My powder is 26g per scoop, so that's 47 grams right there. Dinner has about 20-40 grams, depending on the meat. Plus I eat nuts throughout the day. talking like 33+20+47+20 = 120 grams of protein, not even counting the snacks, and this is a rough estimate.

Yeah I don't know either. It's more like The man would be far WORSE than George Bush.

He's amazing, and was my first choice for President: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=955Y3NJTRIE Wait until the debates.

Yes Blue, I'm perfectly aware. The thing is, even with the foods I just stated, you'll be taking in about 65-70 grams of fat. Body building diets are just plain ridiculous, 5-10% calories from fat is just next to impossible...I mean a protein shake is probably more than that in the first place. I meant take in as least excess fat as possible. For example, my peanut butter has oil separated on the top. To get the least amount of fat in the peanut butter, I drain it out. Also, I rinse all of my beans like 5-10 times, and let them soak. Most of the salts are drained out. The salt is not there naturally, but from preservatives. If you rinse them off enough, you'll get nearly all of the salt out. 5-10g of sodium daily? Wow, the US recommends 2g ;)

I cook a lot of things in oil, I just mean things packaged in oil. Yes, I avoid salt and preservatives as much as I possibly can.

I do, I just gave you an example of how to do it. There's 4 meals right there...throw in a glass of soy/skim milk and nuts, there's 5. Have some fruit and a Clif/protein/power bar...there's 6.

I can't stress it enough: nutrition is around 80% of the battle. Change your diet, and it will make working out, building muscle/endurance much much easier. I mean, sure, you could eat the unhealthy way like Mike Phelps, but it's a ton more work. Changing the way you eat is the most crucial part. I must warn you, your choice of food quickly diminishes if you're going to be committed. Example: My Monday, Wednesday, and Friday meals: 9:30-10:00 am: Egg-white omelette with spinach, tomatoes, onions, and ONE slice of provolone cheese. 2 slices of health nut bread with natural Smuckers peanut butter. 1 glass of V8 Fusion (100% juice kind..they sell 50% juice kind so be careful). 1:00: Salad OR bean salad. The salad consists of spinach, cabbage, romaine lettuce, tomato, onions, and tuna/salmon. Tuna/salmon stored in water only...no oil or salt. Bean salad is just dark red kidney beans, chick peas, cabbage, onions, tomato, and seasonings. NO SALAD DRESSING! Use vinegar. 2:45: work out for a while 4:00: protein shake: protein powder, piece of fruit (banana typically), 2 cups of SKIM milk, half a cup of oatmeal (I put oatmeal in it because I can't eat it otherwise...I HATE oatmeal). 6-7: One meat (tilapia, tuna, salmon, chicken, turkey....try and stay away from steak and pork), one cup of vegetables, and one serving of BROWN rice. Throughout the day I'll snack on NO SALT nuts, and fruit.. Lots and lots of water (a gallon a day is usually a safe bet for 16+ year olds).

I said "Gaffe?" in the beginning to blow it away by what I truly think: she doesn't understand the situation.
-
Oh hey, Sarah Palin understands economics so much that she is TOTALLY ready to take the Oval Office on day one. Not: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/227/story/51940.html Gaffe? Or someone who was a total pander pick and has no business being President or Vice President?
-
Tell me about it. Not only is she archaic about this, but she slashed funding for single teen moms from $5 million to 3.8 million. $5 million isn't even much money to begin with, and to cut it 20%? Damn...

I wasn't referring to Roe vs. Wade, I was referring to Griswold vs. Connecticut, which was used as a precedent for Roe vs. Wade in 1973. Like, almost half of the states were against a Bill of Rights. Quite notably, James Madison was against them and did not want them in his Constitution, but a few states refused to ratify it unless there was a Bill of Rights in it. James obliged, unwillingly, and added them in.
-
I'm pretty sure their medical facilities were about as extensive as ticks and leeches. So why can't we say abortion falls under those amendments as Earl Warren and I believe? Btw, you don't know your history very well. The states AGAINST a Bill of Rights used that argument as their main reason for not having them. They foresaw, quite accurately, that people in the future would use the Bill of Rights as an "end all, be all".
-
Why not? The 9th and 10th Amendments. I'm not saying they should ban it at all, that would be as invalid as mandating it should be legal. It should just be left to state legislatures. Right, and there are state legislatures who have bans ready and rearing to go if Roe vs. Wade is ever overturned. So I ask you this: what other things would you leave only to the state legislatures? I asked Jack about the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which technically by your definition is unconstitutional. This is exactly why I cannot stand our Bill of Rights, and why I agreed with James Madison. I know people who do not think Universal Health Care is a "right", simply because it's not listed in the Bill of Rights.

You're not alone, it's ok

This issue is dealing with a woman and her body, therefore the Federal Government being involved is only "enforcing" Constitutional rights...no?

See Amendment 4 and amendment 9. The right to privacy.

They don't have my name in their database \ So, I tried the name that my name is based on...and I got: ITALY 68.18 ARGENTINA 13.05 BELGIUM 3.44 UNITED STATES 1.45 FRANCE 0.84

I thought about saying saying "Don't even bring the 10th Amendment into this" in my post, but I didn't because I had to be sure that would be the argument. So, should the Civil Rights Act of 1964 be repealed?

Complicated. See, this is why I loved Senator Obama's response to this question because, well, it IS "above our pay grade". Does life begin at conception? Absolutely, but it's just cells dividing...so it's not necessarily a human being in the sense that you and I are human beings. Is there a "set point" upon which a fetus can be officially a "baby"...yes, and it's when the baby is born. That is the only "official" time a baby can actually be labeled a "baby" because it no longer needs its mother. I would NEVER condone a late term abortion (unless for health reasons), but for whatever reasons that could ensue, the option SHOULD be there. There is no set time when life begins because of a.) how complicated this situation is and b.) babies develop at different times...there is no static time that you could say "Ok, you're 24 weeks old so you officially have human rights now!" It's a ridiculously complicated situation, and to belittle it like that would be asinine. It's a PERSONAL decision about when "life" begins. That is why it is and should always be a choice. If they believe it to be at conception, then that's their prerogative. However, just because that's what they believe doesn't mean Sally Jones does. Different cultures disagreed about this too, I should ask my friend who has done research about it, but I believe the Jews didn't believe the fetus had a "soul" until like 20-30 weeks into the pregnancy. Another little piece of irony is that it always seems to be men arguing over this issue...
