Soldiers - Heroes?
The winners are always the good guys aren't they ;) After all, they get to write the history. America wasn't perfect during WWII. We had interment camps of our own. That wasn't too heroic. But you can't watch a classic WWII movie and tell me that there weren't some true heroes involved in the fighting. Yes but I think the discussion is about what defines a "hero". Someone who fights for his country is not a hero, they're a soldier. However, if someone fights for some other sort of noble cause or even sacrifices himself for his comrades, he's considered a hero. Tbh, I think the idea of a "hero" has been so warped over time that it no longer means "a person who fights for good", but rather, "a person who fights for ME.". I'm sure plenty of Iraqis and Afghans think that the suicide bombers and "resistance fighters" are heroes, yet to us we're presented with the image of a deplorable unhonourable combatant, who hides behind civilians and exploits our "nobility (if such a thing really exists)". But...honestly, how can you fight against America if you're a country like Iraq or Afghanistan? You can't match them with tanks, aircraft, or any other sort of mechanical instrument of war. So, you're forced to hide behind civilians and strike from the shadows. I'm 100% sure that if the soviets invaded America during the cold war and the Americans resisted in much the same manner as the Afghans and Iraqis are nowadays, they'd be lauded as heroes by the population. Yet, we demonize them as the bad guys...why? No because they are actually bad, it's simply because they are fighting back. I think America is going through some sort of warped colonial era right now. Obviously they can't colonize Africa and whatnot, since there are already countries there; but they can sort of bend the political landscape of the world to exploit countries for economical gain, which is the new era of warfare. I think my point has diverged way past the original reply, but I don't really care. *initiates flameshield*

Pff WW2 was two bullies fighting eachother. The winner just got the ability to declare himself the "good guy".

We're Canadian. We can fend off the zombies with hockey sticks and rye bottles. Tbh, I think Canada would be the only safe-zone in the world, because Canadians are the only people with the stupidity and balls to say "ZOMBIES? [bleep] that, eh. THIS. IS. CANADA. *kicks zombies off the rockies*". Thanks for re-enforcing the steryotype. steryotypes I've spent years trying to rid the world of. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to feed my pet polar bear. Oh you lucky bastard. I have a pet beaver and moose. Any chance you'd like to trade? The beaver can collect firewood, and the moose can...well...eat all your food.

Soldiers - Heroes?
Tbh it depends on the situation and political leanings of the time. Do Germans today consider those who served in the German army and the SS of WW2 heroes? No. But did they then? Certainly. It all has to do with the leanings of today. During every generation, those who served in the armed forces are seen as heroes, but hindsight is 20/20 of course, and we realize now that our "heroes" of past generations are really nothing but a bunch of guys (and gals!) doing their jobs, sometimes a bit too well. I think the only reason this sort of questioning as to whether those serving in the armed forces today can be considered heroes comes from our easy access to information, something which we never really had until the invention of the printing press (hell, the masses never really had it until around 100 years later when it became profitable to provide such information to that many people). Are they heroes? No. They're just people doing their jobs. There are some heroes serving in the armed forces, that's not really debatable. But the actually number of people is a very small percentage, as with the entire human population. /ramble.

Oh good, because I've consumed enough alcoholic beverages to consider war over the lands, even though they are piss porr. ANYWAYS Sere, we should declare war on Malaysia. Because it's a funny name. Or maybe Mather, because of his fascination with stargate stuffs.

TFed is sending troops to secure the Kahazakh lands. Also, I'm contemplating war on *rolls dice* Brazil. Oh dear. I'll need another beer before I make that decision.

Yes, Yes, Only if he doesn't participate (no offense but you do have a tendency to power play and disregard other players). edit: Apparently all but me and some other bloke it happy with you participating. Fine. I'll just ignore everything you say though lolz.

durr of course that's how you'd "break things down". That's exactly why it's [bleep]ing pointless to play this game.

Archimage A's Alpha Centuri!
The meat of my message remains no different. There's no point in playing a game with a game moderator that only looks towards his own interest, even if those come at the expense of other players. Moderation of these types of games is NEVER any good, because it instills upon one of the PLAYERS the ability to arbitrarily decide what did and did not happen. Which, is problematic considering a player has a vested interest in becoming the sole dominant power in the game, and so there's a certain degree of rule bending and moderational "power-flexing" which in the long run will just destroy a game like this. So, rather than waste my time arguing with you over what has and has not happened, I decided to just drop out of the game and give my rooms to Retech, who seems to be the only other person the least bit concerned with your power-playing. Maybe he has more patience to deal with your silly arguments, but I know I don't. Examples: -Claiming that our normal people are inferior to drones ONLY WHEN SOMEONE ELSE USES DRONES AGAINST YOU -Only revealing what orange rooms can do AFTER you have used yours to power off other peoples -Claiming a [cabbage]load of orange rooms BEFORE telling people exactly what they can do -Not accepting any other version of events contrary to your own, or even compromising -- It really is pointless continuing this game. I just hope other people realize that Arch is going to get to Alpha Centauri with 1 billion people while everyone else has like..two.

And I responded to movements dictated to me. As in, "I ATTACK DECK F" - Arch. I never bothered to read past your attack on Deck F, considering I had no people or rooms on that deck. I completely agree. -- Ah well, this game is completely unplayable due to a completely biased "game master", so I'm not going to bother wasting my time. Moderation of a free game is completely unacceptable and leads to game breaking stupidity, so [bleep] it. I'll save my effort for another game worth putting time into. All my rooms and people go to Retech, since he's apparently the only one who seems to be concerned over Arch's power-playing.

Don't be silly. Those are just variants of the same thing. However, F does not equal E, or Z, or P, or 96. Those are different things from the letter F.

Archimage A's Alpha Centuri!
Oh, I guess since we can go back on orders, then I go back on my first order and use my orange room to power down the turbolift on Deck G, thus preventing Arch from ever moving out of the deck, thus this whole thing didn't happen. I'll post the map in a sec, since maps are apparently the only unequivocal truths in the game. Obviously there are some strange oddities on the map like barriers and turrets, but I'm doing something IRL at the moment so I'll tend to those later. Alright. So, with the maniacal tyrant trapped in his bottom bunk, we can play in a more civilized manner. Feel free to edit in the rooms you lost to the human's phantom attack as well, Rocco.

1. Arch 2. Not really sure 3. Spread out on a bunch of different decks 4. No I didn't lose anything, so I don't really see how my capacity dropped by 60+%. No, you said you were attacking Deck F. So, I based my moves on that information.
