Eh fine, I'll start research on nukes. Shouldn't take that long, since we already have nukes IRL.

No, he's still there. He can't automatically move his population until he has 10,000,000 colonists on another world. Eh whatever, he's moving his entire population. I can't really be arsed to edit it again, since that'll be what the map will look like in a few years anyways. Nobody is going to be there, yet the land will still be yours? What's the point in that? Well, there will be a treaty that no troops can be moved near Earth, so I can save a bit of money by keeping government officials here were I don't have to defend them. Nobody will follow that treaty. Anyways, I'll put Nigeria back on the map, sorry about the mix up Rocco. [hide=Map (Stick this on the front page Doom)][/hide]

Yeah, I took the land that made up Nigeria, since there was noone living there lol. You moved your entire population to another planet, neh?

According to the map, that's Sere's land hehe

[hide=Updated Earth Map][/hide] Jetpack research has finished. New gun line will come out tomorrow. The first alpha tests for the E2S Fighters progressed well, with the fighter managing to break orbit, though it used up too much of its fuel in doing so. Working on something to counter this. TFed has started R&D on a new line of assault vehicles (APCs, Tanks, Trucks, etc). Also, SURGE IN FUNDING!

Apparently not. Some changes to the map Doom: Yggdrasil's system is 22LY from Earth (3rd times the charm?) Russia's system is farther then Midgard, but they're both right beside eachother. Also, why does the Earth map show Britannia as owning Sweden? I was under the impression that it was NWO co-owned. Midgard population now at 65.4 million.

Old posts: [hide]Nation: Europa Race: Bio-Human Annual GDP: 36+ trillion Population: 1B+ Army: 8,000,000 Active Personnel (5m Europe, 3m Africa) 4,000,000 reserves (400m could theoretically be called in to fight, since there is a mandatory 18 month service time for all males 18-24). 16,000 Scorpion Heavy artillery-tanks 21,000 MAASs (Mobile Anti-Air Systems) 13,000 Heavy Tanks 6,000 Medium Tanks 6,000 Light Tanks 79,000 APCs. Navy: 22 Carriers 12 Cruisers 88 destroyers 66 Submarines 8 AA Frigates 150 Transport ships Air Force: 1800 Fighter-Interceptors 50 Fighter-Bombers 100 Bombers 200 Transport Planes 300 Attack Helicopters Space Force: 35 Transport Ships (not sure if they're all finished, they should all be done soon - they're carrying colonists to Midgard) 1 Mining Ship 6 Battleships (3 in orbit above Earth, 2 around Midgard, 1 en route to Midgard) 4 Space Shipyards 1 Space Battlestation 10 Small vessels for clearing space debris 2 FTL Transport ships being constructed Technology: -Kinetic Bombing (not a big tech, think only a few satellites have the capability) -Numerous bio-enhancements (cold-resistant, fertility, age drug, increased strength/bone durability, better eyesight cream, toxic environment resistance, others I've forgotten) -Mobile Anti-Air Walkers (Goliaths from Starcraft) -New gun that should be done soon -Spray that increases crop yield by 300% -Arctic Colonization (includes plants that can be grown in tundra environments) -Exosuits -Medgel improvements -Others I've forgotten Space Stats: Mars Colony: 120,000. Midgard Population: 8,200,000+ X amount on Luxembourg TerrAvenger. Europa has started a project (not Haven) to rapidly increase the pregnancy stage, so that a woman could have 4 babies a year (help with pop growth on new planets, coupled with drug that increases twin/trip/quin probability). -- Also I'd like to give a bit of reinforcement to the reason why the EA doesn't share tech freely with it's members. Billions of funds go into researching and developing tech, and if that tech is then freely shared with everyone, it becomes next to impossible to recoup even a small portion of the money that went into the research. Bit of a (skewed) analogy: Take two companies. Each one is producing a different car. They both finish their cars, but instead of selling them the cars to each other, they hand over the blueprints to the other company. The other company produces their cars, without paying them a cent. Both companies soon go under because they aren't making enough money to keep up. Trade is the life-blood of a nation, and freely sharing tech, while accelerating growth, drains a country of resources extremely fast. Even if two countries are constantly trading the same money back and forth to each other, they are coming out much better then if they had just sat on their original money stockpile. Investors see the trades, and decide to invest in the companies that have the greatest possible return %, aka the ones that trade with eachother. So, while the NWO may have an edge with accelerated research and tech development, the EA with it's trading of tech has the edge in resources and monetary gain, which translates into more money available for tech research, so it kind of evens out in the end. -- Strength enhancer New gun New bomb Jetpacks Up birth rate -- Actually I've been researching deep crust mining for around 20 years now. I'm just waiting for the forum changeover to post the results. Production has started on another pair of battleships as well as a couple of large cargo ships that will have space for an FTL engine. Also, some research into a defensive satellite system that can intercept incoming missiles and projectiles aimed at the Earth. Should be 3-4 years to get a first alpha prototype (since it's just a missile shield...in space). Project Cleanup has been completed, and Europa's atmosphere has been cleared of all useless space debris. The tiny cleanup ships are moving over Russian lands to cleanup there (don't worry Walka, we won't harm your beloved Sputnik) ;) Mining ship I sent out has returned with a full cargo of a strange new metal found in an asteroid. It's an extremely corrosive metal that eats away at almost everything except for aluminum for some odd reason. It'll be named Roridium (Rr). It'll be used for some super secret your eyes only james-bones military project. Well not really. It'll be for something military, though. I'll let you know once I have the first prototype done. -- Working on creating sort of garbage "worms" who chewed waste into pellets removing any remaining organics, plastic, or recoverable metals -- What text are we supposed to use for the space map? I want to give Midgard's system a bit more diversity (eg, a tiny minor arctic planet and a gas giant). Or if you want to just add it in yourself Ross, you could use this: [hide=][/hide] Names are: Tiny planet: Tyr Gas Giant: Vala

FFS Doom, I asked like 3 times when you were going to start this thread so I could get a post on the first page. Screw all you and your damn IRC channel [hide=Terran Federation History] The Terran Federation has its roots back in Germany on Earth. Somewhere around 2020 a coup was staged in Germany, putting yet another dictator at the head of Germany. Tensions mounted in the world as Germany forcibly annexed the Czech Republic and Austria (again), as well as staging a minor war with Holland, the result of which was complete demilitarization of Holland's armies. During this time, there were several ongoing conflicts with the Russian Empire, which led to Germany mobilizing its armies again and marching through Poland to attack Russia. However, Russia and Germany had both been talking in secret with one another, so the armies met without bloodshed, and instead turned on most of Europe. So began World War 3. A decade or so later, almost all of Europe was under either German or Russian control, aside from Britannia, Bulgaria, and most of Scandinavia (excluding Denmark). Luxembourg's government shifted to its African countries. The next stage in the world was what could only be called another Age of Colonialism, with every country expanding its borders and gobbling up its neighbours, either through diplomatic or military conquest. Tensions rose over Germany's fast expansion yet again. The stage was set for more conflicts though, and soon enough a fourth world war was sparked. Germany was ready, though, and had prepared a labyrinth of defenses stretching all across the empire, the result being that no one wanted to commit troops to attacking, as it would be a horrendously costly affair. The war was brought to a close with a shaky treaty signed by Germany which stated it would not conquer any more countries through military might. Diplomatic conquest continued, however. The remaining years have been peaceful, aside from a quick bout with Findenland, who's government had managed to get controlled by a maniacal tyrant who wanted to unleash a deadly virus on the world. Long story short, Findenland doesn't exist anymore, due to a combined effort of pretty much every country. Germany was renamed to Germania which was then renamed to Europa which is now The Terran Federation. It is currently one of only a few democracies in the world. Also, Britannia was defeated soundly by TFed in a war, and now pays tribute to TFed to the tune of $200b a year. (This is since we can apparently re-write history as we please)[/hide] [hide=Terran Federation Military Structure]The Terran Federation's military is split into two sections, army and navy. Navy encompasses both land-based naval and air forces, as well as battleships and craft designed for space travel. TFed has a heavily infantry based military, and excels in defense. The land army is split into 4 main groups, as well as 3 special groups (Praetorians & Federation Militia, Infiltrators): 1. Praetorian Guard. This small group of soldiers are hand-picked at birth for their genetic traits, and trained mercilessly throughout their life in the arts of war. They are one of the most deadly forces in the entire universe, and are tasked with guarding the top levels of the Federation's political and military structure. They are rarely used in battle, due to their small numbers, but when they are they can easily turn the tide.[sort of like Spartans from the Halo series] [hide=Praetorian Guard][/hide] 2. Top tier troops (aka special forces), these are the Federation Marines - the best of the best, if you will. They are the hammer to the Guard's anvil.[AKA Space Marines from Warhammer 40K] [hide=Federation Marines][/hide] "A Federation marine holding a hill is a man even the Gods themselves cannot kill." 3. Federation Guard. These are the heavy infantry troops, supported by Scorpion artillery-tanks and MAASs (Mobile Anti-Air Systems). They are the anvil of TFed's land military. Equipped with numerous bio-enhancements and middle level infantry armour (they aren't tanks like the Federation Marines), they can take a fair amount of punishment, as well as dishing it out. [AKA Imperial Guard from Warhammer 40K] [hide=Federation Guard][/hide] 4. Federation Light Infantry. These are highly mobile, lightly equipped troops that wear integrated-nanosuit bodyarmour, in addition to having jetpacks. They are one of the most fast attacking and mobile infantry units in history, though their training regimine means that their numbers are quite few.[AKA Mobile Infantry from Starship Troopers] [hide=Federation Light Infantry][/hide] 5. Federation Militia. All able bodied members of the Federation are required to do a mandatory 8 month military training program, and can be called upon the defend their homeland in the event of an attack. These troops are essentially civilian militia troops, so they are poorly equipped and don't have access to the same quality equipment that the career military troops do, but they will fight with complete devotion and suicidal bravery, as they are fighting for their homes and communities.[Equivalent equipment to today's modern forces (which in-game is around 50 years old)] [hide=Federation Militia][/hide] 6. Steel Legion. The Steel Legion is made up of convicted criminals from all across Federation land. Men and women who were set to be executed for crimes, but took the offer of 10 years service in the Steel Legion in exchange for their freedom. The Steel Legion is special in that, if a unit within it retreats from battle without being ordered to do so, every member of that unit automatically has another 10 years service tacked onto their term. The Steel Legion is used in the most dangerous battles and missions, meaning that their casaulties are extremely high; so it's actually less dangerous for the unit to stay and fight whatever the odds, rather then retreat. [hide=Steel Legion][/hide] 7. Infiltrators. These are hand picked for their stealth and expertise. They're used to disrupt supply lines and communications of enemy armies, as well as perform assassination and subterfuge missions. [hide=Infiltrators][/hide] Terran Federation Navy The Navy is mostly for space defense and shuttling troops. Currently these are the types of ships being used: [hide=Capital Ships, AKA Battlestars, sort of the Jack of All trades ships][/hide] [hide=Carrier Ships for rapid deployment of fighter planes][/hide] [hide=Troop Carriers][/hide] [hide=Space Fighters][/hide] [hide=Troop Dropships][/hide] [/hide] [hide=Terran Federation National Info]Government: Democracy National Language: German State Religion: Neo-paganism (Norse paganism) Capital: Geneva, Switzerland National Anthem: Military Tune: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k63k0x1yC0U Occupied planets: Earth Mars Midgard Unoph Tyr Uxiu II Ogekrus Mimir Citizenship only granted after 2 years of federal service.[/hide] [hide=Federation Tech] Exosuits FTL Travel MAASs (Mobile Anti-Air Systems) Scorpion Artillery-Tanks (cross between a tank and an artillery peice) Cream to improve eyesight Spray that increases crop yield by 300% Tech to change unarable land into arable land Drug that increases human lifespan Numerous ferility related bio-enhancements and drugs, to increase population growth Drug that produces natural anti-freeze, allowing true colonization of minor arctic planets Deep earth mining AI "caregiver" robots, that can run daycares and whatnot (also increases pop. growth) Corrosive bullet weapons Missile shields Orbital Planetary Missile Shields Spacestations (battle & trade variety) Spaceports Earth to Space missiles Earth to Space Fighters Orbital bombardment *there's probably more that I've missed [/hide] Can we get a mod to just remove all the double posts on the front page (excluding Doom's "reserved" posts? It'd be better to give new players a condensed version of all the active players on the front page, and everyone can just keep their first post updated. To Sere: I did not "nearly" lose my African land in WW4. I lost maybe a half dozen miles of the eastern coast, if that. And Grim, lol. Do you really need 40 years to figure out how to grow plants in water? Here, let me speed up your research: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=opera&rls=en&hs=m4X&ei=kIDRStTMKZC7lAemnJypCg&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&ved=0CBQQBSgA&q=hydroponics&spell=1 Lol. I'll edit this with my tech sometime tommorow.

You know what's funny? Britain has control over India. HAHAHA The Indian people never would've agreed to that assimilation
-
Lol. The only person who actually attacked me was dungeonal. Jerusalem flew a few planes around and Kazakhstan lobbed a few artillery shells. I wouldn't really consider that "nearly losing its African colonies". I don't think it was called the Treaty of London either. :/ Basically you just run a country (or a planet in the new thread) however you want to. 1 day = 1 year in game, so you base your tech off that. Like, a new super-duper plane won't take a year to research, it'll take much longer. Just read for a bit and get a feel for how the game works.
-
Dyson spheres are universal tech?
-
If Hex isn't allowed to be an egowhore then neither is anyone else, which is like 1/2th of the people in the thread.
-
Let's not infuse our silly moral codes on people in this thread, please.
-
The first team has landed on the minor arctic planet of Tyr (Yggdrasil system). They were shuttled from Midgard.
-
Die?
-
By the way, I have colonists on Unoph in case anyone was wondering. They were the ones on the TerraVenger. Anyways, tech is being sent to them (encrypted, so don't try no space piratery). And again, Yggdrasil is 22 LY away. It's Gisele 581 IRL.
-
I agree. Their Starcraft addiction has gone too far! It's corrupting the entire country. Rocco, when did you build all those battleships? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terran_Federation_(Starship_Troopers)
-
Erm, humans. Kind of pointless to be named The Terran Federation and not be human.
-
Spam is actually not that bad. I dunno why it got such a bad rap; probably from all the army jokes about it. Most people who rag on Spam haven't even tried the stuff. Sheesh.
-
TFed has given $50b to New Hope/Iceland/Napta (whatever it is now haha). :) Cheers -- Q: Is there a text limit on posts?

[hide=Earth Map][/hide] Grim: Expendable yearly income for TFed is around 1.6tril last calc, around 36 tril GDP. 100b a year over the next 30 years does NOT put me in debt, considering that I alone have a 461b budget. Also, Burma and Cambodia (population) still belong to Kirby. I am only paying for his land. Too bad the people own the land then.
-
Eh, you guys can do whatever you want, it won't really change anything.
-
3 trillion over 30 years makes me in debt? 3 trillion will put you into debt, yes. Besides, let's see here. 30 years until the country is offically yours, hm. Yeah, that's fine. I'll have it before then anyways. I love the arbitrary time limit tacked onto the bidding spree, though. Especially since you both were communicating in IRC already. Heh.
