Both of those things were only a result of: A.) Your faulty record keeping B.) Implausible growth rates that you made up C.) The fact that you taxed all your people at like 50% while everyone else was at 20% (I was at 10% I think) ---- If you had such a huge economic advantage, why was it that I (*pretty much solely me, Rocco and Doom borught very little ships) could wipe you out in a single round? Quit being silly Mather.

Um...what? You mean the Hegemony where you had I think 2 sparsely populated planets that hardly ever interacted with anyone? + I said true Hegemony, which means supremacy across the board in every field (except for running away, Doom took that one haha).

Destroying the world is easy...but conquering it? Besides, TFed has been the only country to ever actually establish a true Hegemony.

These are my personal preferences, and obviously I didnt review anything Ive never played before. #7 Hearts of Iron 2 Hearts of Iron 2 is undoubtedly one of the definitive WW2 games ever made, putting you at the helm of any country in existence during one of the worlds most devastating conflicts. The sheer number of possibilities this opens up is fun to play around with you could for example start as Spain and guide the Republicans to victory over the nationalist coup, thus defeating Francisco Franco, and perhaps even rebuilding the Spanish economy enough to enter into WW2 on the side of the allies? Or fight as the nationalists and then cross over the Pyrenees and into France as an ally of Nazi Germany? Or maybe start a game as Czechoslovakia and spend those years leading up to the war by building troops and fortifications so you can then tell Nazi Germany when it comes demanding the Sudetenland that it can go stuff itself? Possibilities! The strategy of combat in the game is also miraculously handled, and tries to present a game world that mirrors the own sometimes it wont be the enemys strength that defeats your armies, but poor supply lines and partisan activity, or destruction of your industrial infrastructure by enemy bombings. With all the expansions, you can run a single campaign from 1933 all the way up to 1964. Besides, just trying to fathom a cold war scenario with this as the communist Russia is mind boggling. #6 Sid Meiers Pirates! (2004) Sid Meiers Pirates! is a re-make of the original game that was released 1987. It updated the graphics heavily but kept the same fun and rewarding gameplay intact. At the games core is a plotline that involves kidnapped family members, the search for revenge, and fame and notoriety in the colonial eras Caribbean. But I never much cared for the plot, and the advancement of said plot always seemed as a secondary objective to me. No, the real desire playing this game is to just [bleep] [cabbage] up you see a gigantic Spanish treasure galleon escorted by a sloop of war? Lay along side it and give it a couple broadsides and then swing your ship and ram it, board her, duel with the ships captain and take her and her cargo as a prize. Theres also something innately satisfying about circling around a ship whose sails youve torn to tatters with chain shot and just pumping dozens of cannonshot into it and watching it sink (I had an obsession with doing this against those devilish pirate hunters that chase after you). Theres also buried treasure to dig up, other notorious pirates to destroy, governors daughters to woo, promotions to be gained, and cities to be sacked. Sid Meiers Pirates! #5 Diablo II Its hard enough to find someone who hasnt played Diablo 2 at least once before, and damn near impossible to find someone who plays games and has no idea what it is, and for good reason. Diablo 2 is probably one of the most fun and rewarding cRpgs ever made, preying on seemingly everyones innate desire to accumulate more and more wild and ridiculous stuff, of which Diablo 2 is chalk full of. Theres a huge amount of variety and replayability in Diablo 2 which will make you return every couple years Just to try one little build only to find your next couple months consumed by dungeon crawling and boss fighting. It does what it does welljust as the next Blizzard game. #4 Starcraft Despite being made in 1997, Starcraft has aged incredibly well. It certainly wont earn any points for flashy graphics anymore, but it never was really about the graphics in starcraft, moreso about the gameplay. Starcraft is a wonderful game because it attains the goal that every computer RTS game attempts for Chess on crack. The game is oh so delicately balanced after more than a decade of fine tuning that its managed to stand as a titan in the RTS genre, and still has games active on Battle.net today. I never personally was very good at playing multiplayer deathmatches, but the game has always been fun for me, even when Im getting my face smashed into the ground by another player. #3 Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 Red Orchestra was an attempt to make a WW2 game that wasnt packed to the brim with unhealthy amounts of cheese, littered with healthpacks or regeneration and silly missions. At the core its a realistic shooter, in that it attempts to model the grimy and nasty environment that WW2 actually was. Theres a lot of very rewarding and just plain fun things to do in this game, and I think one of the most amazing moments Ive had in a video game was hopping onto a RO server playing Arad, jumping in a German Panzer IV, and following 6 other German tanks through a forest path and emerging to flank pretty much the entire Russian team out in the open. #2 Baldurs Gate II: Shadows of Amn & Throne of Bhaal Baldurs Gate 2 gets mentioned pretty much anytime anyone starts looking for a good RPG to play, and for good reason. Its a game thats jam packed with hours upon hours of quests, interesting characters, a wonderful soundtrack, and some pretty damn intense fights. Its also a game that is built on probably one of the best cRPG engines ever made, and it has aged incredibly well, especially with the addition of various graphical mods. The plot is also a very immersive tale, but thats all I really want to say, because spoiling anything about this game to people that havent yet played it feels like a crime to me. Theres a ton of customization, fun, and just in general rewarding experiences to be had playing Baldurs Gate 2. Like Fighting a God damn Dragon. #1 Europa Universalis III Oh, Europa Universalis III, how I love thee. Seriously, this game has such a stupendous amount of replayability that it borders on ridiculous. Once anyone jumps into a game, theyre guaranteed to be completely overwhelmed (my first game playing Portugal I declared war on Castille right at the get go and promptly got stomped upon), but once you learn the ins and outs of the system then the real fun begins. You can pick and play as any country between 1399 and 1821. Any country. Napoleonic Italy? Yep. Danzig (seriously it was a country at one point)? Yep. One of the Mongol Empires splinter states? Yep. And you can take these countries, and if you run them right and get lucky, you can forge ridiculous empires and just use the world as your playground. You can also monopolize trade centres, blockade enemy ports, fund pretenders and rebellions, vassalize nations, force personal unions (meaning you rule as their king), and depending on which culture you have, form union countries like Great Britain, Spain, Germany, or the Mughal Empire. Hell, Ive forged an Empire that stretches from the Baltic Sea all the way East to India, with colonies in Central America to boot. And the country I did it with? Transylvania. Transylvania! Hell, if that doesnt sell it, nothing will.

Player: Dusty668 Name: Nero Position: Tactical Officer Nationality: Terran Federation (aww yea!) Merit: 0 Energy Credits: 0 Inventory: Nothing Skills: None Technobabble Tokens: 10 Questionaire: 1) A workmate tells you they are about to reverse the polarity of their toothbrush, what do you do? Take his toothbrush and then tell him he's quite clearly insane. 2) You are given a chance to travel back in time, what do you do? Bring back advanced technology to help the Terran Federation in its early years. 3) A ship decloaks off the starboard bow, what do you do? Only a hostile ship would come so close without hailing, so shields go up and weapons go hot. 4) A race of aliens destroys your shields in a single shot and disables all your weapons and power systems, what do you do? Assemble a team, have them put on their space suits, and then go out the airlock using the suit's jet thingys in an attempt to board the enemy ship. 5) There is a bomb onboard the ship. The only way to save the ship is to open an airlock which you and the bomb happen to be in, what do you do? Open the airlock. 6) An alien has taken control of the bridge. A medical officer has prepared a deadly nerve gas to kill the alien, but your captain and three other officers are also on the bridge, what do you do? Deploy the nerve gas. 7) While working one day you recieve a secret transmission from an unknown source, who claims to be working for the government. The person offers you 20,000,000 energy credits (Enough money to never have to care about anything ever again) to kill a fellow crewmember, what do you do? As long as the death of the crewmembers aligns with my own mission then I accept. If not, or if the crewmember is on my 'team' or an ally, I tell them to piss off. 8) You feel dizzy and lightheaded, what do you do? Take an asprin and lie down. 9) You are given the opportunity to open on Broadway, Play the Lead in a Hollywood Film, Take a flight through the Sun, Open a Military Training Academy or Bring about World Peace, which do you do? Take a flight through the sun. 10) There are two missiles. You have the ability to destroy one of them. Once is aimed at the Residential Sector and one is aimed at the Industrial Sector. Which missile do you destroy? Industrial Sector. Can't very well punish those responsible to the deaths of civilians if you have no industry to produce weapons.
  7. Ross and dungeonal are both fighters. Those two people...one disappears very quickly and the other is a fighter/Druid, so sort of a [cabbage]ty cleric I guess. I can be a Mage I suppose, given I know the system the best. One of you guys should take my class then, Kensai/thief dual class since it has so much munchkin potential.
  8. There are still two slots available for anyone who is interested and wants to jump in the session on Fridays at 4pm EST. -------- That being said, we have a bit of a problem with current class selections. We don't really need four fighters in a party, so unless the next people who join in the session decide to go with mage and cleric as their classes, someone is going to have to swap to one of those choices.
  9. Next friday same time aye.
  10. BG didn't mess up your network :wall:
  11. Tolerant in order to stand you he means.
  12. Dungeonal was getting some crazy lag, idk where he went off to. Looks like end of session for today, but even though it was pretty messed up connection wise next time will probably be a lot better. Btw, for the next time: Rpg don't take all the damn weapons from the table lmao. I need one too
  13. Well 1 hr 30 mins from now.
  14. Yea 2hrs until session start
  15. Just hit the multiplayer button and fill in the ip address then connect. DL the game then install it

Why is it that Jeeves is always the name of the Butler? I mean, when parents name their kids Jeeves, what exactly do they expect him to be when he grows up? You flip between tenses a bit at the beginning. Also the 'he said, he said, he said' after every spoken sentence is fairly redundant when there's only two people talking. And you should work on showing more than telling. See: http://www.suite101.com/article.cfm/publish_your_short_fiction/29408 And the ending doesn't make much sense. Send who in?
  17. You had like 6 days to get it installed.
  18. It's listed on the router, usually on the bottom. -------- Everyone who wants to play make sure you've followed the steps below and are ready to go at 4pm EST tomorrow (Friday) -Install BG2: Shadows of Amn -Install BG2: Throne of Bhaal -Patch BG2: SoA/ToB w/ patch 26498 - http://www.bioware.c...upport/patches/ -Forward your ports so that you can connect - http://www.wikihow.c...er-the-Internet -Set BG2 to run in windowed mode (under the configure tab)
  19. # Retech: Sadface. # Dungeonal: 4pm EST is 8pm GMT Which Belkin router? Because this is all of them, and it's slightly different for each one: * F1PI-241EGau * F1PI241ENau * F1PI242EGau * F1PI242ENau * F5D5230-4 * F5D5230-4v2 * F5D5231-4 * F5D5231-4v3 * F5D5630au4 * F5D5730au * F5D6230-3 * F5D6231-4 * F5D6231-4-v2 * F5D7010 * F5D7130UK * F5D7230-4 * F5D7230-4v7.01 * F5D7231-4 * F5D7231-4P * F5D7231-4v4.05 * F5D7234-4 * F5D7234-4v3 * F5D7630 * F5D7630-4 * F5D7632-4 * F5D7632-4v2 * F5D7632-4v3 * F5D7632ef4a * F5D7633-4 * F5D7633-4v2 * F5D7633au4A * F5D8230-4 * F5D8231-4 * F5D8232-4 * F5D8233-4 * F5D8233-4v3 * F5D8235-4 * F5D8236-4 * F5D8630-4 * F5D8631-4 * F5D8632-4 * F5D8633-4 * F5D8635au4A * F5D8636-4 * F5D8636uk4A * F5D9230-4 * F5D9230-4v2 * F5D9231-4 * F5D9630-4 * F5D9630-4v2 * F5D9630-4v3 * F6D3230-4 * F6D4230-4 * F7D1301v1 * FD730-4 * MyEssentials-ME1004-R * WRTR-159G
  20. Yea the server doesn't exist until I create the game. But actually Dungeonal is going to be hosting, since we could never get a game to work when I hosted but his worked fine. Try running it in windowed mode. EST is -4 GMT. So it would be 3pm for you, that alright? ----- Okay, before we start, this is what needs to be done by everyone: -Install BG2: Shadows of Amn -Install BG2: Throne of Bhaal -Patch BG2: SoA/ToB w/ patch 26498 - http://www.bioware.com/games/throne_bhaal/support/patches/ -Forward your ports so that you can connect - http://www.wikihow.com/Play-Baldur%27s-Gate-2-Multiplayer-over-the-Internet -Set it to run in windowed mode (under the configure tab when you click to run the exe) That's it. Then if you want more portraits for characters you can download this and then stick it in the 'portraits' folder in your BG2 directory (you might need to create the folder, idk). If anyone is using a custom portrait then all players need to have it in their portrait folder or else it shows up as a blank silhouette. Or if you don't want them all and just want to see my sexy portrait then save these two files: as Rogu07_L.bmp and Rogu07_S.bmp And stick them in the portrait folder. (Let everyone know what custom portrait you're using and its file name so that we can add it to our portraits folders and see it in-game)
  21. Alright, I suppose we could do Friday. Say, start at 4 pm EST? And this is what I've gathered everyone is going with in classes: Party lead (me): Fighter/Thief Dual Class [so we have thief covered] Rpg: Berserker (Fighter) Dungeonal: Ranger? Ross: Mage Retech: ? Then idk who the 6th person is.
  22. Hold up. The only person that had a problem with Rpg's suggestion of Monday/Wednesday was you, and that was only because of a mixup with timezones.
  23. His timezone is -5 GMT, so it would be 10:30pm where you live (you're in the UK, right?)
