  1. I head to the blind banana tavern. Figure now would be a good time as any to find some ruffians to get the crew above the necessary numbers for sailing, since I suspect there'll be some fat Dutch merchantmen floating around that could be captured, brought back to port, then sold.
  2. He's not a [wagon] though.
  3. Robespierre responds by putting trusted men close to Napoleon
  4. I think tomorrow. :/ I'll have to check. Firstly, you said ships were sent in order to shoot at my armies and kill Napoleon. Secondly, it wasn't me. So no. Dusty, when you said the reign of terror was over, did you just mean the modifier? Or is political dissent dying down, food levels returning to normal, etc.? The modifier is done, and the political situation is dying down due to the fact that most of the people who were speaking out are dead now. Robespierre is still alive though, sneaky bugger.
  5. Pierre Valois is a badass. Hells yea. Since Lefevre issued the duel, I get to choose weapons - swords. Because pistols are for cowardly scum like Lefevre who care nothing for the glory of France, only for their own political advancement. Before the duel, I pass on a sealed envelope to one of my friends on the ship I'm serving on, telling him to pass it on to Admiral Lemarchal. The letter simply states that if I win the duel (which shouldn't be too hard against a politician militaryman like Lefevre; nonetheless, I'm not getting cocky), that I expect a promotion to Lieutenant de vaisseau (Ship of the Line Lieutenant), and be second in command of the ship I'm serving on.
  6. Just make an account and lurk with that, that's pretty much all I do anyways lol.

  8. Of course I side with Lemarchal, useless coward that the Contre-Admiral Lefevre is. I get off the ship and head into Tortuga into one of the many seedy taverns there, and inquire discreetly about hiring a pair of cutthroats to solve my problem with Lefevre. If I can't find any that are willing to assassinate a French rear admiral, then I make my way to the rear admirals house and insult him and do whatever I can to provoke him into demanding a duel.
  9. Because you've only started recently.
  10. Name Pierre Valois How you start Midshipman, on a French naval ship in Port Tortuga Stuff you might want to: Blast the crap out of stuff and steal [cabbage]. Because that's how the French roll. Personality Uncompromising Ruthless Argumentative Authoritarian Bold Looks (epic 'stache is epic) Goal French Navy. My Navy.
  11. UPDATES: Propaganda posters have begun popping up around large Russian urban centers, citing the unjust killing of their nobles, the rise of a dictatorship and the disregard of the Russian mainland with the vast majority of the Russian military going of to China and leaving the Russian part of Russia virtually unguarded. These posters also blame the attacks of Poland and Sweden on the Russian Empress, showing her to be dishonourable, and not capable of paying off debts. Effect: Dissent rises in Russia Polish forces withdraw from Russia. Swedish forces advance further into Russia, sacking Moskva (Moscow) on the way. Sweden again proposes the same peace deal.
  12. They were out somewhere and had offered
  13. I was just swimming in my neighbour's pool Drink = union jacks
  14. Well maybe if you actually built some semblance of a military that wouldn't happen to you mather
  15. Not really. I made a mistake not Retech. If it had been Retech's mistake then I would've said tough luck. Alright then, after this battle they'll withdraw upon payment. Sweden's terms are this: ------ Swedish/Polish invasion of Russia With the only Russian army in western Russia being in St. Petersburg, the Polish and Swedish kingdoms staged a co-ordinated attack on the city, using both their armies in tandem to overwhelm the defenders. The initial push against the city was by infantry, who managed to take one of the gatehouses and open the gates, through which Polish winged hussars flooded through, slaughtering anything that moved. The palace guards barricaded themsevles within the palace, but the Swedish and Polish armies were content to simply collapse the entrances to the palace, trapping the small elite Russian army within the palace without having to fight them while they looted and plundered St. Petersburg. Result: Tactical Victory: Sweden/Poland Strategic Victory: Sweden/Poland (Russian Army of St. Petersburg nearly destroyed, managed to retreat to the palace with around 2,000 Line infantry left [they'll be reinforced upon budget reset unless they're still trapped). Anyways, yea Poland will withdraw if it gets 20m ducats and an admittance that the invasion of Poland was unlawful. And Sweden will withdraw if it is given the Finno-Ugric provinces shown above.
  16. Bwahaha. No, it was a day before it finished hahahaha
  17. That "damn huge empire" has probably saved every hegemony player in the tavern at least once. And I usually give people a fair fight in the end.
  18. I will redo the Swedish/polish invasion, but it won't change all that much since the two states are working together and 1 army would not be enough to beat them both.
  19. Russian 'Grand Invasion' of China A Russian invasion force numbering over 60,000 men crossed over Siberia and reclaimed the territories lost the previous year to the surprise attack by Chinese forces before pushing deep into the Chinese homeland. The close proximity of the Russian armies to each other, and the superior technology frightened the Chinese leadership, who opted for the tactic of slashing and burning crops, intent on starving the Russians. This they did with surprising efficiency, so much so that the Russian Army of Cossacks was forced to turn back to the main armies for lack of food for their horses. Unfortunately for the Russians, the promised troops for both the Ottomans and the Portugese never arrived. However, the Russians kept up their advance despite the casualties to starvation and disease, and took a fair bite out of the Chinese. But the Chinese had retreated and mustered the full might of China together to send the Russians packing. It would have been an laughable assembley, were it not for the brand new weapons they carried which had arrived from an unknown European country as well as military officers to train the Chinese troops in more modern European battlefield tactics and maneuvers. Swedish Invasion of Russia With pretty much the entirety of Russia's armies in the Far East, Sweden sent their declaration of war, figuring a pre-emptive strike against the Tsardom which had been discussing the possibility of invading Scandinavia was prudent. They advanced East, and sacked St. Petersburg on the way, destroying its vaunted Opera House. Swedish Army: 4,000 Dragoons, 1,000 lancers, 4,000 Line infantry, 3,000 Fusiliers, 2,000 Skirmishers, 15 cannon Polish Invasion of Russia Poland joined the fray as well, seeking the funds they had been forced to cede to Russia for what the Poles viewed as an unjust war against the Polish state. Polish army: 9,000 Polish Winged Hussars, 4,000 Fusiliers, 2,000 Line infantry, 1,000 Skirmishers, 10 cannon Revolutionary France's War Prussian promises to support the Counter-Revolutionaries were rather thin to them it seemed. No suitable battlefield could be found that Prussian naval ships could give support to, and in truth none of the Counter Revolutionary leaders wanted to have their army fight with its backs to the sea. So, Napoleon advanced pretty much the full might of Revolutionary France to challenge the 'rebels', and for the disinterest of me writing up a long winded report detailing the failures of the counter revolutionary army (though it did do fairly well, surprisingly enough), the counter revolutionaries lost. Basically it was a horrid mis match, with elite Revolutionary Guard commanded by Napoleon against a bunch of Fusiliers commanded by some disenfranchised French nobleman who had been a politician or something. Revoltionary Army is smashed (not before it kills off half of Napoleon's army in the process), routs, and some make it to the boats: Makes it to the British transports: 2,000 Fusiliers, 1,000 dragoons Makes it to the Prussian transports:2,000 Cuiriassiers Both groups say they will fight for Prussia/Great Britain as long as it fights against France (if you ally with France they'll jump ship). A bunch of French nobles also make it onto the boats, bringing with them their wealth. To Prussia: 2,000,000 ducats To Great Britain: 3,000,000 ducats
  20. Shhhhhhh we don't talk about that
  21. ^This I got a warning that one of my posts could be seen as being offensive to Muslims. ...Except I was roleplaying as an extremely militant crusader type country :wall:
