  1. They were, but they weren't in the HRE. They could still get elected Emperor, it would just take some actual effort in order to.

INVISIBLE HELICOPTERS! -- Yeah Hex zerged Iran after Ross refused to let him place a zillion nukes underneath the entire country (lol), and I was the only one beside Hex who had built a military at that point (big surprise there...), and so I sent my troops over to defend Iran despite the fact that me and Ross always end up trying to kill each other late game anyways... Gahhhhhhhh
  3. Russia is a heretic, but I suppose stranger things have happened. Maybe the paper ballots get smudged and instead of Prussia '-russia' gets elected. Who knows.

Well, it's not really a problem since you're the Holy Roman Emperor currently and all those states are part of the HRE, so if France goes to war with you you could just march your army through all those states no problem. Then again, if you lose the support of the electors (by doing stuff like not honouring the independence of HRE states against aggression from non-HRE members - like France or Poland - or attacking member states yourself, then they'll pass the title of emperor onto another monarch (most likely Prussia).
  6. Also there's the fact that it'll be 1 day = 6 months (day 1 irl is summer, day 2 is winter). So progressing to modern times is fairly unrealistic. -- Edel, this is Austria-Hungary at the start of the game (you said hot pink..)

  9. Kind of. I was figuring that every province you have overseas gives a 2% bonus to your tariff income, as with any province that can be land linked to your capital gets a 2% bonus to your production income. So, if you have a base starting treasury of 10m ducats, 50 provinces on land and 25 overseas, you'd get 10m base + 10m production + 5m tariffs for a grand total of 25m per reset. Might add another +% for technology progress. A single infantry of the line costs you 1,000 ducats though so I may need to adjust the base. Oh, and going out and conquering everything might seem like a good idea to raise your budget, but then you get nationalist rebels, independence movements, patriot mobs, and all sorts of nasty random events. I was thinking that people always end up making enough disadvantages themselves (like Burgundy in YOH spending the first 40 years building a citadel and thus finding itself stuck with its initial budget with nowhere to expand anymore). -- Oh, and I've almost got all my work done so we should be able to start in a couple days. Gotta figure out a concrete system for the economics though.

Country list: Arch - Prussia Icu - Great Britain Rocco - Portugal Ross - Sweden Edelweiss - Austria-Hungary Paul - Italy Earth - Poland Retech - Russia Grim - Netherlands Sere - Ottomans Dungeonal - USA Doom - France Trol - Spain ---- And here's the map we'll be using: So, tariffs would be based on the % of your provinces that are overseas (base x %), and production based on how many provinces you have that can be land linked to your capital (gotta figure out an easy way of doing this that allows more than 100%).
  16. You can use whichever ones you want to start with, provided they've already been invented. ------ Oh, and thinking instead of Base, Tech, and Tariffs we have Base, Production, Tariffs. This way countries like say, Russia, would get next to no Tariff income, but have mega production income (since it'll be based on how many provinces you have that can be land-linked to your capital).

  18. You get a +10% bonus to tarriff income, whereas others would only get +5, so I guess that counts as keeping them.
  19. Correct, pretty much any untrained soldier will lose to a trained one when they have comparable weaponry. But the beauty in the musket is its sheer weight and terror, and the fact that it's so easy to train them with. That and the fact that you can stick a sword on the end of it. Like I said, you can use crossbowmen if you like. But they'll lose nearly every engagement against a sizeable enemy force.
  20. It's just a region that Russia has always had a loooooong history of fighting for and over. Look, if you want to use a piece of technology that's been out of date for nearly a millenium you can. I can tell you right away though that muskets are definitely better than crossbows. But true, a good crossbowmen could beat a medium skilled (ie conscript soldier) musketman. Problem is, in the time it would take you to train a single good crossbowmen, you could trade an entire battalion of musketmen. So yea, go ahead and pit a crossbowmen against a battalion of line infantry.

  22. USA gets faster assimilation of former European colonies. So, less revolts and whatnot.
  23. Yea you can make your own troops. However, if somebody comes to me and tells me they're going to make an army of ninja assassin spies that wield katanas and wear kevlar vests I'll just get them all killed by having them walk off a cliff.   24. Well, I plan on having it so that changing government, religion, or your entire social structure will (rightly so) have some very bad consequences. It could be done, but it'll be painful to get through. -- Oh, and what do people think of having passive bonuses for different countries?
