Is luring an acceptable practice?
highlanders replied to Kalphite_Queen's topic in General Discussion
Scamming is against the rules. If someone pms you saying something like "I will buy your [item], come join me at the north of edge" then you could report the person for scamming, since it's obviously a lure attempt. And if the person reading the report abuse is not a trained monkey, he might notice that is it a lure attempt and do something against the luring player. And I'm tired of people saying that morals are relative. It's just obviously morally wrong. The people who do it know it's wrong, they just do it because they're greedy, etc. -
The myer-briggs test is pretty good, yup.

As long as there will be titles, there will be a hierarchy. However, if titles are based on the amount of cabbage picked, then in that case it doesn't apply, as it is a state that can be obtained by all members, thus it is fair. I reckon the OoC forum is false about a lot of things. This discussion was much more truth revealing than all the lines of pretty text and serious talk on the forum. And that's a good thing. Finally, I have a suggestion regarding how you choosing your members. If there is not already, a forum or a thread about people actually applying to become a member would speed up the process greatly. Recruiters would still need to approve the application. That way, members would not just be chosen simply because they have been noticed, or by the 'attitude' other people perceive from them. On that, I'll be on my way, I have a 99 hunter that I'd like to finish up within 3 weeks, and I've been a slowpoke lately. And I own the cabbage. 'Nuff said. (you can quote me on that  )

I rest my case, how members are picked is subjective. And I still frown upon how seriously the OoC considers themselves. Also, I have not yet mentioned how ranks and official membership are not necessary, what are they used for? Ranked people recruit people to recruit more people? In my eyes, that is just another way some people try to hierarchise the whole order. You say all members are equal. Then what need is there to hierarchise the structure? There is "better" cabbage pickers? Hierarchies do nothing except creating 'superiority'-'inferiority' relations between the members.

should jagex change the way we see players?

Well usually, in arguments, people look the 'enemy' in the highscores, and that pretty much finishes it lol. -

It could be considered as scamming in Rs rules. And morally, it's wrong. Exactly the same as stealing something from someone in a dishonest way, it's wrong. -
I see you use common sense to "pick" your "cabbages". But it's false to say that it is not discriminatory, nor subjective. Now if we take another point of view, what about the patch clown? If it's in his personality to be a clown and that he likes to pick cabbage, he's going to get rejected? He likes to pick cabbage after all. Actually, is it not, after all, that you don't actually care if the people like to pick cabbage or not? You will just pick the ones that you want, or the ones that you feel will cause the least trouble, regardless of if they like to pick cabbage or not. That is dicrimination. One would think such an "organisation" would not be soo picky and serious about those things, looks not.

Alright, in other words, the 'important' people in the OoC cult have a special forum in which they talk about the recruits they want to be integrated as 'official' members. But how is that not unbiaised? Thus, I am inducing that the way OoC members are picked is rather discrimatory. If you take the example of a recruit that picks up cabbage, but never talks. The person picks cabbage, perhaps more than the others that keep fooling around. Yet, that person will not be noticed, thus will stay a recruit forever. But if, on the other hand, you take the talkative, patch clown, that picks up a lot less of cabbage, he will be become a member quickly, probably because he is getting noticed. How is that a good measuring of who loves the cabbage the most? Members are chosen subjectively, based on nothing of concrete fashion, or am I wrong?
-
I guess, but u will probably need to do more bank trips.
-
Aha! The cat came out of the bag! And that is decided by the subjective point of view of the 'important' people?
-
Basically bring what the quest guide says. Sharks would help also.
-
That's just you saying it. But I'm not crazy, they say in some 100$ words basically that no one can join the OoC just like that, and that you have to had been invited in order to be an 'official member' and that is basically decided by someone 'important' in the order. That's a lot of seriousness for something not that serious. -_o And were not flamming, I think we're doing pretty neatly so far :P
-
Then you're good to go.

Actually I didn't think it was possible to waste more time than playing Runescape. But some ppl found a way to waste time while playing something that waste time. That's like the wasting time ultimate  I have nothing against the OoC or anything. I read their forums, and I have to say I really don't agree with the hierarchic chain. Basically, what they say is that you're no one until someone decides otherwise. Pfff :shame: And tmot, you wish you had my stats. Besides, I've been playing for like 5 yrs, and my stats are not much for that period of time. Some crazy people play like 2 yrs and are like lvl 126, with 12371289M exp

Bend your poor back, whist wasting hours and hours picking cabbage and someday someone 'important' in the order will notice you exist and you'll be a real member, at the end of their twisted hierarchic ladder.

Make sure you get the same screen size in desktop properties parameters that the size of your monitor. Example, if your screen is 800 x 600, get the screen size to 800 x 600 in the properties.

What prayer lvl is it for melee protect? 47? I'd recommend getting melee protect before doing the quest. It's not mandatory, but it helps a lot.

You could go in the first couple of times with a few pieces of food, and some teleport runes until you get the hang of it. Btw, always bring tele runes/teletab/ectophial, to tele out when the rc pkers barrage/stun u.

Lol ur gunna have a nice Rs future o_O

Hello, this is not ment to be a post about einstein. This is mostly humoristic. And the definition of stereotype is that it's true most of the time. And if you've noticed, I'm actually insulting my own type  I'm not making a big thing about it, now am I? Yeah sure, I have 1 billion days to spend on each individual case to find out the exact corellation between personality and stats, and I'm going to publish a book about it next week. And I will make sure to spel al mi wurds corectly, so thut the vwery intelligant ppl un tip.it mai understund meh.

ENTJ, that's pretty good. Very alike to the mastermind INTJ, but more extraverted and with less concentration and thinking abilities. You would go well into business fields. And you might want to take the test a couple more types on other websites. I took me a long time to find out mine. Sometimes the test said ENTP, ISTP, ISTJ, INTJ, ENTJ, etc. And I'm 50% Introverted, 50% extraverted, 50% perceiver and 50% judger. My personality varies by the day I guess o_O

Gee aren't u picky. Do the myer briggs test then. http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

When phats used to be only around 20M, I think it was alright to buy them. But I remember when I had my white phat, I looked at cavaliers and thought, gee those look better lol. But right now, getting a purp phat would take me like a month, nty. I prefer having like all the buying skills at 99 instead
-
Hmm idk. I would need to ask u a couple of questions in order to find that out :XD: I wild guess would be social type. And another wild guess for myer briggs would be INFP: Idealist
