No, I don't mean Metalcore. For Metalcore, it is debatable whether or not it's a sub-genre of metal (I was one of the people "moaning" for it to be added). Hardcore actually has no relation to Metal whatsoever, it's just a heavier, faster version of Punk. Whereas Metalcore is a fusion of Metal and Hardcore.
