  1. Are you sure is not just lag? So are you are unable to attack the NPC at all or you can only attack it after clicking several times?
  2. Similar..yes. Think of it as a 5 men dungeon where you have to get the majority of your armor/weapons/pots/food on the go. Mix some Runescape style puzzle solving and boss mechanics and you get dungeoneering. So really, apart this from an instanced dungeon with teamwork, is pretty different. So basically everytime you kill a boss you get a piece of the equipment? Like if the godsword takes 100 pieces in total to make, and everytime you kill a boss you can get one piece? Not a bad idea, it is different and more realistic, but I think this is more of an annoyance. PS: Also because you do not get the same boss everytime, there is still luck involved.
  3. wait, what? Other professions can perma too?
  4. You know..the reward system actually sounds better in my head when I thought of it this way. As you guys know, right now the equation for getting a drop in from a boss is luck+effort(time)=drop. For example, you camp TDS for X amount of time and with a good deal of luck, you get a claws drop. Now even if you are a very dedicated player and very skilled in monster hunting, without luck, the drops will never come.(I am looking at you theuberelite). Now what D'eering basically did was change the equation to Effort(time)+Skill=drop. You have to dedicate massive amount of times to raid the dungeons, the more skillful you are at killing bosses/solving puzzles/using tactics, the sooner you will get a drop. This completely removes the luck factor which I really really hates. Of course I understand that some people like the surprise when a TDS drop a pair of claws, but for me, I find the reward system for D'eering more satisfying.
  5. I do agree that WOW focused more on team oriented aspect as a game on its own. But it would be pointless for RS to release another soloable grinding skill. Even thought I really like doing things myself, but at least this will offer more variety compare to all other skill so far (not to mentioning training all other skills as well). After all, its only one skill that share the same similarities, majority of the skills still belong to a genre of their own. At least try the new skill yourself to see if you like it or not. Depend on which direction the overall game is going, you can play along with it, or disagree with it, or just walk away completely. PS: I don't like the new skill myself because it needs a group (reason why I never try WoW in the first place, too much meeting and clan dramas I heard), but at least I am going to give it a try before I superficially judge it and generalize it. (At least I should be able to gather up some RS friend for fun in game activities) I have. I don't like it. So basically if anyone says something you people don't agree with it's trolling? Every bit of criticism, sarcasm, or joking is also trolling? I can't figure out which stupid word is used more and annoying, trolling or failing. And oh yeah, I said specifically that even if you don't agree with the song, it's not entirely my opnion. I was just coming up with whatever I could to make it all fit. I don't have everything. And everyone, shut up about me not giving it a chance. I've given it a chance. It still sucks. I do not have a definition for trolling, but I do think that it is annoying. Why? Because you are all over the place telling everybody how much you dislike/hate the skill in a petty way. For example I think is obvious that I like the skill, but you do not see me posting all over the thread claiming how the skill is the win or how Jagex is so great for making this skill. No, I sit down and discussed the skill with other players and reasoned out the pros/cons with the skill. Why do some players like it and why do some players dislike it. What I think you need to do is simply to be less outspoken, post your opinion-I like/dislike this because of XYZ and then discuss it with everyone else without popping up every few posts adding in a snide comment on how the update is such a failure. Qeltar is doing this and I find his posts enlightening instead of annoying. Just my two cents.
  6. I looked at your signature and disregarded your entire post. Well to be honest, it may be one of those "If you fill out X surveys, you get Y bucks which you can cash in for a membership card." I am still not clicking on that link though.
  7. I guess that would be a problem then since I tend to group up when I raid.
  8. Is there a way to completely avoid the icefiend's special attack? If I run I will hit a dead end before the attack ends and have to waste a second or two running in another direction, by that time the special takes around 50% of my hp already.
  9. I think people are been nice by ignoring it. No offense intended but that is probably the truth. One) NEVER complain about more banking space Two) Probably because of the new armor/trinkets/weapons
  10. The problem people were having with corrupt is that the items were way too expensive to obtain. No doubt if everyone can get a set of corrupt at a snap of a finger, the no corrupt rule would not exist. IF many people were able to obtain these items, then I do not see why not.
  11. This has been confirmed by a Jmod. If you complete most of the floor and dc, you will receive a portion of the experience.
  12. Why is it repetitive and not fun?
  13. I think he is talking about statius warhammers.
  14. To be fair, Qeltar's point about reward makes sense. What is the point of putting a level 21 dungeoneering requirement on the bonecrusher when it requires level 74 worth of experience? There is definitely something wrong there.
  15. I think the only valid reason for people to dislike the skill is because of the group nature of it. Some players just like to play solo.
  16. That looks really nice...I hope Jagex will release the skin of it.
  17. So what exactly is the cap now? Like, 5k max or something? I have no idea.
  18. High level F2P players gets the screw on this one.
  19. melee? Why melee why you get free runes? I am practicing entangle and range hybriding right now.
  20. Question here is that what is the ratio between coins and tokens in recharging.
  21. Those are only usable in the dungeon itself :/
  22. Well, it's kind of hard to enjoy something when you've played something else that provided a similar and much better experience. As you can maybe tell, I'm not exactly the grinding type. I play what I enjoy, and this... I simply find no enjoyment. Hopefully this will change in the future. A failure of a start for me, but at least it starts from rock bottom for me and can't possibly get any worse! :P Hey I am fine if you dislike it for whatever reason. I am just a bit confused at the thought process thats all.
  23. Nah, thats like saying "If I enjoy questing I might as well play city of heroes instead of WoW just for the quests". You clearly missed the point. You can play both CoH and WoW, but if one aspect in one game is clearly better (and assuming you play both games regularly, and not just one and not even once the other), it's doubtful you'd spend much time doing the same in the other game (unless you enjoy grinding). Luckily for me I've never really played other MMORPGs, so I find RuneScape pretty good, but as far as the "dungeon experience" goes - countless single players have done just that. I have played both WoW and Guild Wars. WoW has great PvE element while GW has the best PvP experience, this is the opinion of many many gamers. I play both games for all of its content because I enjoy the game. It is not as if I suddenly I want to play PvP I play Guild Wars. It is more like whenever I want to play Guild Wars I go to play Guild Wars. Also, yes I have spend relatively equal amount of time doing both PvP and PvE aspect of both games during my free time. I just do not get the mentality that "if other games does this better, why should we bother with it."
  24. Nah, thats like saying "If I enjoy questing I might as well play city of heroes instead of WoW just for the quests".
  25. [hide] As much as you may dislike the skill, I do not think there is any deny in how much work Jagex has put in this. Second of all why is the lack of training option a problem? There are different ways you can do it, you can rush them or attempt to get every bonus multipliers, whichever you like. I can't imagine all the time wasted to re-create a non-tradeable version of almost every single item in the game just to prevent 'imbalance', to be honest. Not to mention, raiding-like features of WoW is the endgame for every player, yet for this skill you're working your [wagon] off for what, level 80 gear and a few extra total levels? An oppotunity that could create a long lasting endgame content in RuneScape, wasted. Nay, you are assuming that this is it. This is the time when players should go on RSOF and suggest changes and ask questions. There are plenty of Jmods are at the forum at new releases and this is no exception. Well, I'm thinking of a cartwheel that accompanies you at every level, where you store resources like sara brew and rocktails of unlimited quantity per item type, as well as tools like pickaxes, hammers, armours, such that you can replenish your stock before the start of each level. At the same time, litter the dungeon with fixed quantity of things like a 4-rannar patch, 10-monkfish fishing spot..... In short, integrate what you have in the game into the dungeon, to break down the no-trade barrier between the new skill and the outside world. But considering that Jagex already wasted so much time re-creating those decent looking items that are functionless out of the context of the skill, what's the probability of my idea taking place? :? [/hide] None  , but what you are basically suggesting is the skill should have more impact on normal game play. Ask Jagex to incorporate the items or item effects into the larger world and see what they have to say about it. You know the FAQ Mod Em does every week? She may provide some feedback on it.
