Kudos to you, Flabberwocky. As a p mod I get to see more of what Jagex does against macros than most players (but we still dont' see everything) and you're right; they do a huge amount against them. The ones you see in-game are the ones they missed. Think about how many that means there are in total. Now try thinking about trying to deal with that many. Big job, eh? :P So thanks, for giving TB@JT some well-deserved thanks, and for trying to get more players to do their share and report what they see. ;)

I've been using something that I thought was common knowledge, but it's not in the guide... At the egg launcher platforms, the far east and west spaces will keep you from being hit by the Penance Rangers as well as the Healers and Fighters, making it a nice safe spot if you're near-death. I haven't tried it on the Queen attacks or the Queen spawn, but I have the feeling that it does protect from spawn and not from the queen magic attacks. Using a screenshot from the guide, here's the spots (one is kinda cut off, but you can tell where it is from the position of the others): It's a little hard to get to them; if you click there before you go up the ramp you usually end up next to the platform instead of in the safe spot, but if you go onto the platform and then click to the safe spot you'll usually go there. I believe someone said this earlier in the topic, but I'll repeat it: A red cross will appear next to someone's name on the healer menu when they use their horn to call for a medic. A few stratigies I've used that help a lot: On waves 1 through 6, have either two defenders or two attackers to speed things up. On waves 7 through 10, have two healers instead; otherwise you will probably have a lot of problems with people dieing and ending the game. (for healers and attackers) Add each other to your friends lists, and take the rest of the team off (or have them added and them not add you, and them turn their p. chat to friends only; if for some reason you don't want to remove them). This way the healer will be able to find the attacker easily (since usually the attacker takes the most damage), and vice versa. (for healers) Turn private chat OFF, or change it to not-split (turn split chat off in the options menu), or make sure no one will message you for a while. The text can mess up your view of your team's hp, and this can cost you the game. (for healers) When you have two healers on a team, you may want to have one concentrate on poisoning enemy healers until they are all dead, and let the other heal teammembers until then. However, the 'poisoner' should still carry a full vial with them in case they are closer to a severly wounded teammate than the primary healer; they should still be healing, just not as much as they might otherwise. Alternativly, you may try to kill all of the healers at the beginning or the end of the game very quickly, and spend the entire rest of the time healing teammates. Re the fighter & healer issue: If a penance monster is simotaniously hit by an egg from the launcher while it dies form another source (poisoned food, trap, or attacking team member), then it won't always exactly die. The 'all clear' message won't be displayed, but the wave will end normally. They can usually be killed again normally if you want, though I have no idea whether or not you gain points for it. Overall, it's a nice guide, but it needs some additions. :) Hope it helps. [pokemama 30 June: sorry for late reply to your post. For the safe spots, I've not tried this. Will have to ask someone in game. It would also be great if you could test this on the Queen round and post one way or the other. The pic is great if we can just determine the effectiveness of the spots. The red cross is known, and if not in the guide it should be added. The double defenders / healers in waves 1-6 and 7-10 are mentioned in the guide. The friends list and chat options are good ideas (I've used the friends list myself - 4 green dots on my minimap do me no good at all!) and should be added to the guide. Splitting healing duties is known, and if not in the guide it should be added. The last item, about a monster not exactly dying, sounds like a programming glitch and so I'm not sure whether we need to post about it. Does it make a difference to strategy or game play? or has it possibly been corrected since this post?]

All I see that it would do is annoy everyone because of the major change. That's the sort of thing that wouldn't be considered until they start working on Rs 3, if they ever will. And it doesn't really help much, and it hurts a lot. No, better to stay the way it is. How in the world is this related to macroers? It does nothing but further complicate things, and that's never done much to stop macroers. And it makes the game very annoying for the rest of us.

I agree with the Editor completely. A note: Us moids are not anywhere nearly as rich as you think we are. I rarely have more than 100k, and that's what I keep in case I die and need new equipment. I think beggers should be given some direction as to how to get the things they want without begging before they're punished, because some (fairly dumb) people truely have no idea what to do. It'd be nice if they payed attention to the Island they came from, and asked the Guides about some things, or used the Knowladge Base, but that's what we should tell them when they first beg. If they ignore yuou, then ignore them. Or, if you really dislike them, then ignore em anyways and let other more patient people deal with em. I tend to do the latter; I have enough trouble with noobs as it is...

Well, I made progress on mine. I got to 57 mining and 50 smithing. Didn't quite make my goal, but close enough for the moment.

I want a sequal to the Family Crest quest, so we can get some more glove options.

Trying to get to 60 mining and 53 smithing (currently at 56 mining and 48 smithing). It'll probably take more than 10 days, but it's worth trying anyways.

Well, I have to say that this is one of the best guides to anti-scam meathods I've seen out there. Very good marks from me. :) Don't #4 is a very important one. In fact, it lessens your chance of becoming a p-mod, because a few seconds of the conversation after the report between you and the reported person is also recorded and sent in. So, be careful what you say. Now, you're definatly not going to be banned for shouting "Reported!", but you may recieve a warning. And if you do it to the point where you're encouraging others to report him, that's a breach of the rules. So, try not to brag. You may have done a very good deed, and you should be proud of that, but the scammer need not see it. Also, Don't #2 is a large one as well. Baiting scammers is a bad idea; when setting someone else on fire, there's a good chance that you'll both be burnt. Even us p-mods are not supposerd to 'investigate' much at all, simply report what we see. There's a fine line between learning enough information to have a good, solid report, and in creating an elaborate frame that is easily walked into by an innocent person. Erring on the side of caution is best when it comes to most things, especially things like this.

Ah, trust me, there's no need to wait 8 times to report a spammer. That might have been the case at one time, but Jagex has been changing a few things recently. 2 or 3 times will do. Also, it's very important to realize this about spamming: If it makes sense, it's not spam. so, if someone's just saying "selling coal": over and over and over very fast, it is not spam. But, if someone does something like "1234452376482374556" or "@@@@@@@" over and over, that is spam. Trust me on this. I'm a mod, I'd know. :) Very nice of you to make a guide like this though, I know we appriciate it since it gives us a bit less work to do. :D

Hmmm.... At the moment, I'd take all my attack and put it intoeither fishing or smithing, not sure which. I almost never use melee weapons, and I could sell my full rune and rune halbred. If I could, I'd also take my strength levels and put them into mage, since I have enough range levels for now and I would like more mage. :D

Organization? What is this organization of which yopu speak? It is certainly not in effect in my bank, though there is the evil first row that insists on staying organized (gold coins, then all rc tiaras). But toher than that, I tend to remmeber where everything is in the top half (which usually doesn't change). Of course, when it does shift up there, I get horribly confused and can't find anything for the next week or two. :D

I thknk that if the person ranging has killed the monster a while ago and didn't bother to pick their arrows up, they're probably not going to and I'll take them. But if they're still fireing at the monster and some show up, I leave them since they may kill the monster and then pick them up. It's very mean to steal them while the person's still in combat, since they haven't had a chance to take theirs back yet. In other words, if it's obvious that they don't want the arrows, they're fair game. But if they still might want them, leave them there or ask before you take them.

Sadly, this makes no sense whatsoever. I'd offer constructive critisicm, but that requires a good idea to start with, and this lacks that.

This is the sort of thing that would be very interesting. You couldn't have a thing that tells you what's happened to the person you reported, people do get some privacy you know. And I'm not entirely sure about not being able to report people for a while, but it's an interesting idea. I think it would be good to post it on the official forums once you have a few things worked out. First of all, it would be an amazing amount of work for the staff. While I agree that it could easily save them a great deal of work later, the group of staff that handles reports is seperate from the group that codes stuff on the site. So they could be hard to convince. :) Second, how would you show player mods on this? Would they be on it, or not? If they are, are they held tothe normal set of rules that everyone reports from, or the more complicated and specific ones that only mods have to follow when reporting? Yes, mods actually have a very long set of guidelines to use when reporting, and that could cause a bit of a problem with this. Would you have a seperate list for mods, or would they be included in the normal one, or would they not be in a list at all? Also, would the list be publicly viewable? There are good and bad things about it being public (peer pressure to be higher, peer pressure to be lower, teasing others about being higher/lower, ect.). Would everyone be on this list right from the start? Or would it be something optional that you could sign up for? And would new players start on this list right off the bat? Would this be mentioned on Tutorial Isle, or left to be found by the players on their own? And the most important question I have: what's the chance that us player mods will get all sorts of question and complaints because of this? It needs a bit more thinking before it could be put on the official forums, but it is a good start. Sorry if I seem overly critical, I just would like to make sure this good suggestion doesn't get turned away because it wasn't fully thought out. Also, there are a lot of things us player mods have to deal with that players don't, and I'd like to make sure you see our point of view. :)

This would be nice, but it mayu take a long time to put into the game. Imagine how hard it would be to code..... An idea for the 'split' option: If you had something that fit in multiple categories, (such as feathers, which could go into fletching and into fishing,) you could have the option to 'split' it. This would let you put the item into another category. So, if you looked in the Fishing section ,you'd see feathers. And if you looked in the Fletching section, you'd also see feathers. That way you can have things with multiple uses still stay in the right place. Now, withdrawing one from one place would also withdraw it from the other, so you can't duplicate your items. :) And you may also have a split item take up 2 bank spaces, depends on how that works. But it would be a nice addition.

You've taken the words out of my mouth (in regard to the average conversations). I'm having a bit of trouble and I won't be able to get on RS for an indefinate (unknown) amount of time, so I may not be posting on here for a while. Just anyone I saw breaking the rules. No one in paticular. Also, whenever anyone asks this, I'm supposed to remind them that there's not set amount of people you have to report to be a mod. Many people have this misunderstanding. It did take a while. 2 years of playing. :P I've been running errands and doing stuff in a large city nearby most of today, so I haven't gotten to play RS any. So, no blog for today. Also, a note to everyone (I'll put it up on the front page as well): A week from Monday, I'm going to be gone to camp for all week.
