  1. Sure, I made this when Errdoth's hadn't been released, and what I needed was a quick way to use the great tools in tip.it's site for example, or quick access to the GE page or the KB. I added the highscores because it can be useful in-game too. I removed the Jagex bar so I had a bigger play-area. I did what I thought would be useful and still not obtrusive, for ME. Then I asked the admins for permission to SHARE this and learned Errdoth made another, but still posted it cos there might be people (like ME) that prefer this version. I do not feel insulted if you like Errdoth's more :) but I'm sure there will be people that will prefer this one, even if you do not. The thing I completely hate about Errdoth's is how it actually even removes MORE of the screen area, other than that I know it rocks, but it's too complicated for what I wanted it to do, simply take me to the pages I use most when playing RS, nothing more. As satin_snake said, this is simply an alternative, if you prefer this one use this one, if not use the other. Pretty simple.
  2. I know... But I prefer mine anyways, as it simpler and actually goes ABOVE the applet, it also removes the jagex bar, so instead of making you have a smaller RS area, you actually have a bigger one. It's also pretty simpler, seeing it's smaller and less inobtrusive, and just links to insteresting pages instead of me having to go to tip.it and manually select calculators and stuff. Thanks, hope you like it :)
  3. Runescape Tools v1.3 About: No, this isn't any macro or any cheat, so if you came looking for something like that, shame on you! Anyhow, this is a Greasemonkey userscript that adds an HTML Links, H-S (High-Scores), GE (Grand Exchange), Notes, Calc, Timer and Counter button to the top-left corner of the Runescape applet and removes the Jagex Bar (that one with the Home link and the search bar). It also warns you when you leave the Runescape page if that really is your intention (in order to avoid accidentally clickings). It is best used with the Resizable feature activated as it gives a bigger area to play with. It does NOT remove the ads as that is against the rules. It just removes the Jagex bar, and the rules do not forbid doing that. It also does NOT change the Runescape applet in any way, it only changes the page it is in, placing a button on top of the applet, not within the applet. It follows the rules completely. When clicked, the Tools button opens a list of useful links and the Highscores button lets you check the Highscores without leaving the tab runescape is running in. To customize the list with custom links a basic HTML knowledge is needed and basic Javascript knowledge helps. You can also configure the buttons by choosing the order theyre shown and hidding any button you dont want to be displayed. Greasemonkey: If you don't know what Greasemonkey is, it's an add-on for Firefox (sorry IE users, switch over or you can't use this) that can inject Javascript (not Java) into a page to change the way it looks. Get it https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748. Tested on Windows XP with Firefox 3.0.1 and Greasemonkey 0.8.2 Screenshots: [hide=Small Images] [/hide] [hide=Fullscreen Image (big size!)][/hide] Changelog (version 1.3 to 1.4): - Added Timer Button (can time down and up) - Added Counter Button - Removed all User Script Commands that toggled buttons and added a Configure Buttons command instead that also lets you select the order the buttons are shown - Improved a lot of code Installation: After installing Greasemonkey (link above), click this link and accept the installation when it asks you if you want to install. If you do not trust the script and have some javascript knowledge, click "Show Script Source". It is completely open sourced (all greasemonkey scripts are), so you can examine the code and even edit it. Optional Configuration: On Windows XP go to "C:/Documents & Settings/[YOUR USERNAME HERE]/Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/[Weird folder name].default/gm_scripts/runescape_tools" and open the file runescape_tools_1_4.user.js with a text editor. If you're not on Windows XP I don't know where the file will be saved, if someone could find out and tell me I'd appreciate it. You'll find something resembling this inside: [hide=Code] //PREFERENCES (CHANGE THESE) //HTML to display inside the Tools List (no line breaks!) var linkslisthtml = 'Grand Exchange ' + 'Knowledge Base ' + ' ' + 'Tip.it: ' + 'Forums ' + 'Skill Guides ' + 'Quest Guides ' + 'Minigame Guides ' + 'Skill Calculators ' + 'Skill Planners ' + 'Special Calculators ' + 'Fairy Ring List (interactive) ' + ' ' + 'RuneHQ: ' + 'Skill Guides ' + 'Quest Guides ' + 'Minigame Guides ' + 'Skill Calculators '; //Height of Tools List (pixels) var linkslistheight = 290; //Width of Tools List (pixels) var linkslistwidth = 160;[/hide] Edit those values to your preference. The linkslisthtml has the HTML that will be placed inside the Links List and needs to be in HTML format. Remember this is javascript so keep everything in one line or use the following format: 'line1 ' + 'line2 ' + 'etc... ' + 'last line'; There are also a few User Script Commands that let you change the aspect of the script right from your browser! Load up runescape and then click the monkey and "User Script Commands" like shown in the image below. Older Versions: 1.3 - Added the Notes Button, where you can type text and itll be saved even if you close Firefox or exit the page - Added the Calc Button, with a simple calculator (+, -, / and *) - Added Toggles for the GE Button and both new buttons - Improved some code 1.2 - Added the Grand Exchange button - Added Warn on Exit function to avoid accidentally going back or refreshing the page - The bug where the game doesnt load shouldnt happen anymore - Added User Script Commands - Improved some code - Changed the name of the Tools button to Links 1.1 - Added Highscores Button 1.0 - First Release Official Page: http://www.rppinheiro.com/runescape/runescape-tools NOTE: It was a complete coincidence that I released this script almost at the same time as Errdoth, but it is pretty much different and I didn't steal his idea. If you want proof you should ask the admins when I sent them the PM asking if I could post this or not. I'd appreciate you told me what you think, and if you don't like it, why not, but only constructive criticism please! (this means you should post why you dont like it, not simply post something like "it sucks." with no reason at all)
  4. Mine, posted in the new bank suggestion thread, longgg time ago (Thu Dec 08, 2005 1:51 pm, linky: viewtopic.php?f=37&t=351049&p=2400771#p2400771 ) Second post, was a MTA guide released on the release day :) viewtopic.php?f=30&t=381872&p=2518943#p2518943
  5. Is it just me or do you also get the feeling that the WOM is the wizard that used her for that secret? Umm... Quest rewards: Cast spells without runes! Perhaps... Half of the runes needed for a spell! Twice the runes per essence! Free altar teleports forever! Safe abyss! Hear me Jagex? :P (probably not <_<)
  6. Lighting people's homes on fire would be cool... *notices some guys lighting his 2mil geepee home on fire* Umm... I mean, no thanks :)
  7. Firemaking guild: A bank, 27 empty spots, another bank I could bet that's what they're gonna do :P
  8. Awesome way to train and make money. If you win all altars you get 1k tokens = 20 tele tabs or 1k pure ess. That equals 152k if you sell the pure ess or 20 times the runes you can make per trip, so for example I can take 40 ess per trip to an altar, if I get 5k tokens I can get 100 teles to the altar = 8k runes in a very short time.
  9. Anyone ever heard of "lag"? When that happens it means you have lagged in regard to your "follower", so he seems to be in a different place than the server thinks so... Anyways, there is one way to fix, switch server to the "best" one in the selection! Usually you'll be less laggy there... You'll still have that happen, but much less squares difference. If that doesn't fix it then it's your own network or ISP causing the lag.
  10. Lets see it this way: Me: Attack: 66 + 12 = 78 = 18.1818...% ~ 18% 66 + 13 = 79 = 19.6969...% ~ 20% *CLOSEST TO 20% AND IS +13* 66 + 14 = 80 = 21.2121...% ~ 21% Defence: 64 + 12 = 76 = 18.75% ~ 19% 64 + 13 = 77 = 20.3125% ~ 20% *CLOSEST TO 20% AND IS +13* 64 + 14 = 78 = 21.875% ~ 22% Leeds: Attack: 76 + 14 = 90 = 18.42% (rounded to first 2 decimal places) ~ 18% 76 + 15 = 91 = ~ 19.73% (rounded to first 2 decimal places) *CLOSEST TO 22% AND IS +17* 76 + 16 = 92 = 21.05% (rounded to first 2 decimal places) ~ 21% Defence: 61 + 12 = 73 = 19.67% (rounded to first 2 decimal places) ~ 20% 61 + 13 = 74 = 21.31% (rounded to first 2 decimal places) ~ 21% *CLOSEST TO 22% AND IS +13* 61 + 14 = 75 = 22.95% ~ 23% This makes us see that they are correctly being rounded... Yes both increase 20%. I fixed the problem. Gotta check this out.
  11. ^That proves it's more than 20% Thanks bud :) But yes it's weird that my friend got a much higher boost... I'll have to research deeper. I'd really thank you if one of you could try out some butterflies.
  12. I thought of that, but I checked, and if I lowered the boost for defence by one def level, it still was over 20%, so it aint rounding from 20%... But if you show me other evidence? Did you try the butterfly or was that only math?
  13. Then it'd be according to the player... That means some people would have a bad boosted char and some others would have a good boosted char... I think it's just because it requires a few more levels.
  14. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=3885665#3885665 A post calculating the boosts and showing the animation of using butterflies.
  15. Okay. First post updated! Read it all again :)
  16. ^Thanks! I will... Seeing if my friend can test again... I'll use the same butterflies with him and then he'll do the same with me... To see if it's a fixed or random percentage.
  17. ^I'd say the normal time a potion lasts per level... I don't think it'd be special and take longer/less... I didn't measure it anyways. Also you should fix your quote :P I accidentally swapped the butterflies (kinda sleepy)
  18. Oops... I made a small mistake ;) Also added the percentages... I guess it's a bit better than super pot for friends?
  19. Butterflies are a special type of potion. You don't use it with yourself. You use it with another person and boost his/her levels. To do that you must be in a multi-combat area AND the other person MUST have accept aid on (he wont be asked to accept the boost tough). Red (Ruby harvest): Raises Attack Light blue (Sapphire glacialis): Raises Defence Dark blue(Snowy knight): Raises Hitpoints (no percentage calc'ed) Black (Black warlock): Raises Strenght (no percentage calc'ed) Here are the experiments I made on the boost My friend and I used the Ruby harvest and Sapphire glacialis TWO TIMES on eachother. The level boosts were always the same so I'm assuming it's a fixed boost. Art Crazy (me): 66 Attack --> 79 = +13 %19.6969... 64 Defence --> 77 = +13 %20.3125 Leeds4Kiddos (Leeds on the forums): 76 Attack --> 91 = +15 %20.270270... 61 Defence --> 74 = +13 %21.31 (rounded) Maga Aurian: 70 Attack --> 84 = +14 %20 (EXACTLY) 72 Defence --> 86 = +14 %19.44... Average Attack Boost: 20% Average Defence Boost: 20.5% (rounded) Should get to 20% with more tries Super pots are 20% boost acording to tip.it so I'd say these are around the same percentage. I kept asking myself what the animation was... well it's simpler than I thought... But anyways I recorded it with the help of a friend :P PS: The quality is bad as it's a .gif file... And if the frames seem to go to slow wait a bit, that just happens because it's loading the next frame. Thanks to: Me :) Leeds4Kiddos (Leeds on the forums) Maga Aurian And all posters that have helped me with the math. If anyone wants to submit any info, especially experiments, post here. I'll include you in the credits.
  20. No protection prayer works fully, but ranged prayer protects you from the axes and flying things (most of what he attacks you with) and melee prayer protects you from the stuff that hit you when you're close-by... As most of the stuff is ranged, having ranged prayer helps a lot! I did half the fight without prayer and the last half with, and I got hit so much LESS
  21. Most probably I wont be able to come... At 7pm for me, I have plenty people to entertain (for example, play some games with my cousin) and wont have time to go on RS... I would go otherwise! Gl on the party :)
