No, I consider skilling and other boring things like monster killing as working (no danger, no human interaction, no skills required, no fun, no nothing). PKing is the challenge of beating other people who can think for themselves and can eat/pot/flee/pray/hit back etc. And the items you risk make it fun, because it it wouldn't matter if you died it's no use wasting food/pots/arrows/runes for, thats why i don't like shooter games, it doesn't matter if you die except for honor and reputation. You pk for fun in the first place, and skilling etc you do for the money/benefits they give in the first place. Some people are mad enough to do it for a pixcel cape or to get a stat 99 in their list but yea they should know that for themselves do they? Everyone isn't you. I do skilling for the enjoyment. Which I do. Monster hunting; no danger? You go have a go at Saradomin GWD. Monster hunting is based on teamwork, when dealing with GWD/DKs ect, of course there is human interaction. No Skills required? That is a load of bulderdash. It isn't fun? I know a fair few people who would disargee. Once again, everyone isn't you. I didn't said monster hunting wasn't without danger and teamwork, it's just monster killing like slayer I was talking about. Monster hunting is the way I make money whenever I have to and it's quite fun the first times, but after you've done them a few times you'll know the strategies on how to beat them and they get boring quite fast. Even though they get boring its still a lot more fun since it's with a team. Though no monster hunting bosses will be ever as challenging as real players.

You're the loser, you'll need to work for your money :D Go back to your yew tree to earn a mil in 3 weeks of nolifing. Finally after half a year of ranting they finally do something. But ah well it's not as slow compared to how long it took them to make bank tabs and a search funtion.

Tip.It Times Presents: Grand Exchange - Help or Hindrance?
I do hate the limits on yew longbows etc. You can only get like 100 per 4 hours? But you can do it via the original tradescreen for the medium price, so why can't we just buy larger amounts for the medium price via the grand exchange too?

Tip.It Times Presents: Double Feature!
The first one: Well I have some younger friends in the game and they're doing things quite well. I get more annoyed by people who try to act mature and report for every freaking thing. I really disagree about the quickchat lock that under 13 accounts get. I mean when I was 12 I was pretty much able to type english even while it's not my foreign language, now even kids who do speak and write english everyday are stuck to quickchat. If jagex wants to focus on under 13 year old kids, they really should remove this quickchat lock. They can't even ask other people for help in the game? The second one: Another guy that's happy when jagex does some updates that where suggested for years, and he even likes fist of guthix... I don't mind those updates (even though I don't get why you can't use summoning in bh, summon a monster that pj's your enemy and let your monster tank for you?, or stats boosting/healing monsters, and still bh is based on your cb lvl including your summoning?) But all I want is a rwt proof wildy, it's really not hard to think of methods to do that. Or at least just attack options back in the wildy so you can kill for the sake of killing? It's probably me but like none of the updates they've done (except for the bh fixes and coinshare fix) affected me. I doubt the 3 pvp minigames that will be released in the end of this year will be any good, but since it's 3 minigames there might be a good one.

Tip.It Times Presents: Letters to the Editor #17
Still, all those updates we finally have were requested for ages, bank search, bank tabs, clanchat, clan wars and even item lending. And I really didn't cared about any of them. They were all much simpler that things like graphic updates and summoning, even though summoning is suggested by players aswell, even though the pouche-crafting part is probably their own. Now I'm still waiting for bh to get fixed since it's still judging on p2p lvls while summoning cant be used inside bh (it should be judged on f2p lvl or make summoning possible in bh, summon a creature that pj's your enemy so you can eat, summoning pures anyone? or just stat boostin/item carrying familiars), and when they finally going to make a rwt proof wilderness, thousands of ideads have been suggested, and they said pvp minigames were going to be the main focus this year, all we've had is a bh update that was begged for by most people, and some other failed safe minigame nobody ever asked for called fist of guthix with the same lame idea of having a target, bh already proved that people rather kill whoever they want then an assigned target. Imagine how cool rs could be if these things finally get fixed?

Junk Trading: Acceptable, Practical Practice?
If you range black dragons always pick up adamant javelins if you get them in a drop, you can easily collect about 90 javs per trip (I assume you bank the hides and bones) at the cost of 1 inventory spot. I had about 5k after killing them some time and then at dagannoth kings a friend of mine forgot to turn his lootshare on the first kill and got an archer ring, he bought like 3k addy javs off me to share it anyway.

Summoning looked down upon?
Summoning only ruins your account for bounty hunting in med and low crater, for things as cw it doesn't matter. I personaly look down on summoning because I feel it's rather useless (sure it can be usefull at a high lvl, but it would take more time to get to that lvl than the benefits are worth). So sometimes when I see a lvl 115 who is that high because he raised summoning I think "wow what a shame that he trained summoning, he could've kick [wagon] at the med crater, he must be a skilling noob". Not that I would say it in his face, I respect their choice. It's the same about skillers in general, I think they're all insane for liking to do the same over and over again without risk or danger or multiplayer aspects, but that won't make me want to swear at any skiller I see in rs.

Tip.It Times Presents: Functionality vs. Flash
I'm affraid this is going to be somehow dissapointing, every thing that they've hyped before was a failure. Maybe it's because they set some sort of deadline which has to be made because they've promised it to players, for example summoning, which was released while not really being finished. In a developement diary i heard them talk about a feasability study. It looks like they are using dsdm as a system developing method, which focusses on things like using as less money and time to get the minimum required results, and leave most "would be nice to have" things out if there isn't enough time for it. Ofcourse this method will bring up cheap and fast developed systems, i feel this isn't the right approach for runescape. I see a game designer more as an artist. Because it's not really important that the graphics update is being released quickly, they should take as much time for it to make it as close to perfectly what they want as possible. They've released some half finished things like bounty hunter, grand exchange, summoning, vinesweeper this year, and I hope it's not going to ruin more future updates.

Craftin Fury's How To Make A Zerker Pure: For Dummies!
Great guide, there is none as good as this one yet about zerker pures, I hope this one gets qualified as AOW too. You should update it to make it bh proof since risking whip, fury and berserker ring makes everyone wants to pj you in bh now. Also fire cape and fighters torso are considered as too risky by to many now.. Btw sk8_tolivv you have to put the dds at the height of the special bar, click it, press f1 and spec right away. Don't know if it was possible at the time you posted it but still.

~@~ How to succeed 99-skill goals in 7 easy steps ~@~
The idea behind this guide is really awfull. You should train a skill because you like it, and do it whenever you like it. I see so much 99 cooking capes nowadays it's pathetic, why waste a lot of time to show you've wasted a lot of time. You should go train a skill when you want to, because you like doing it, not for the cape, not because you've scheduled to cook 3k lobs every day. And if a new update comes out, just go and check it out if you want to. I have reached 99 ranged in 3 years of playing doing everything in the game with ranged (quests, bosshunting, moneymaking, pking), maybe I couldve done it much faster if I had planned it and power grinded it, but that wouldn't be fun so why on earth should anyone play like that. I always do things with friends, oh wait, talking slows down my xp per hour, should I stop talking?? And btw, 99 skills are not hard goals, long maybe but everyone can do it.

F2p medium lvl bounty hunter guide
Ok this is going to be some guide about bounty hunter in f2p. I've been playing it a bit last weeks in the medium crate and I hear a lot of people complaining about it being gay etc.. But it's the only thing we've got left so thats why I made this guide about it. 1 - Some terms I will be using: DD = death dot, stand with your team on one dot so that other people will only see one white dot on the radar. BS = Backstab, when someone kills a teammate, he will be called a BS'er. CC = Clanchat BH = bounty hunter OPTS = the amount of options you see when you rightclick on the team that is following their leader. KO = Knock out, if a victim get's killed due to high hits. Bind = A magic spell that freezes your victim for 5 seconds (he can't move then) Pile = When a lot of people all attack one victim (the best way to get kills) Fall in = When you are with your team you should all be following the leader. that way other clans see only two dots on the radar. Door huggers = People who go into bounty and stay next to the exit portals, so if they are getting attacked they can fled away right away. 2 - Some things you should realize First thing you'll need to know that teaminng is just neccesary, solo'ing is not an option. Second thing, there is no such thing as honour in here, so don't expect people not to eat/pray/pile etc. Also don't pay any attention to who is your target, your target probably is in your own clan or in another clan. 3 How to join a team This is easy, go to your desired bounty world, and look for people with the same capes outside of the crates. Most likely those teams will be flooding like "JOIN US, GO IN CC OF *theleader* AND TRADE HIM FOR CAPE". So just join their clanchat and trade the leader to get a cape. 4 Make your own team This is a bit harder, buy a lot of capes and give your teammates a teamcape each and tell them to join your clanchat. The start shouting like "join us" in front of a crate and when you've recruited enough people go inside and call everyone to one side of the bounty hunter lvl via the clanchat. Then let all members fall in on you and start owning. Meeting your clanmembers can get pretty tricky if there are other big clans around. 5 What should you use? Ranged - First choice, you'll need to pay for addamant arrows, but dragonhide armour and mapple bows are pretty cheap so that doesn't matter much. Also you will get drops more often since you can attack right away when you see a white dot on the radar, and you will hit faster then magic. Not much people in bounty don't wear rune or metal armour so you will be hitting good. Magic - Second choice, but deaths are pretty expensive although you will be having most chances on getting full rune kills. The bad thing is you won't be wearing any defence so when you get piled put protect prayers on and run to the nearest exit. Melee - Third choice, it might look weard that I putted this third, but you will have trouble in getting loot. First of all you can't attack any people from far, and need to wait until your victims are binded. On the other hand you'll be the best if your team if you clan meets another clan, due to your good armour (if you brought it) you will not die quickly and rangers and especially mages will die quickly. Bringing full rune is good but lots of people will attack you because they want your armour. Hybrids - The bad thing about a hybrid is that you'll have to bring more weapons, but a range-melee hybrid wil be pretty good. (wear dhide, attack victim with range, and if its binded or fights back get your rune scim). A mage-melee hybrid can be good aswell, but has worse armour. And range/mage isn't good because range is nearly always better (only on full runers magic is better) Binders - Having binds with you can help preventing victims to get away , but the time you waste on binding and not hitting your target wil make your chance of getting the loot smaller. Other teammembers will probably thank you but they can't share the loot anymore. So if you feel like being kind you can bind, but it won't help yourself much. 5 - Once inside You should upon entering find your clanmates as fast as possible. Just fall in on the leader and he/she will walk round along the edges of the arena. If you see a white dot on the radar, move to it's direction right away and kill whatever it is. 6 - Strategy's Scouting When falled in on the leader ,a lot of melee'rs like to go and scout forward in the direction where the clan is moving towards. They will try to find people and attack them to get the first few hits, and when the clan comes and KO's the people, they will receive the loot. That's why most teams have a rule like "no scouting", since it's unfair to the rest of the team and might scare victims off. Leave door huggers The bounty is full of people who don't dare to go away from the doors. When the whole team is following their leader and suddently they all run after some guy next to a door leaving right away, that's annoying. Not just because people waste runes and arrows on them, but the disquise on the radar is gone to. If everyone follows the leader there are only 2 white dots on the radar and victims will not notice there are like 50 people in it. In-bounty hop If the team you're in is the biggest in the world (or just everyone is wearing the same capes) the leader can choose to hop to another world, to beat other teams there. It takes a lot of time to go out of the bounty and regroup in the new world again, so it's better to go to the middle of the bounty, and all click on world select above the rs screen, and log in on the new world. DD'ing When meeting at a certain point with your clan, sometimes people choos to dd all next to an exit while waiting. Sometimes when people come in you can instantly KO people who come in and walk a bit away from the door. Beware of BS'ers though while doing it. If they are at the death dot they can attack every clanmember that isn't in the DD without being noticed. If the DD has like 120 opts you can't sort out easily who is bsing. Penalty's After you've killed anyone you can't leave for 180 seconds. You should be a bit more carefull when having a penalty since you can't leave. If your clan is getting owned by another clan and you have a penalty I'd advice to sneak away and wait in the middle of the bounty untill your penalty is gone. 6 - Final Word Ofcourse you could have all find this out by yourself, but it might safe you from the first times dying while trying out. I've got like 18 scims and a full rune atm and even though it's getting a bit boring it's the only thing left to do until jagex brings us some new pvp updates, or makes something worth getting members again. I quit members after 10-12-07.. Rate or Hate :) And I hope some people learned something.

Tip.it Times Presents: Double Feature!
No jagex was doing it to stop RWT'ers. And they succeeded a bit, but it came at a hard price. And jagex wants player feedback so we just keep giving it.
-
Tip.it Times Presents: Jagex, I want a GOOD update!
I really like that idea, it would stop most RWT. RWTers would have to trade in barrows and dragon armor, and the new stuff like godswords and bandos and dragonfire shields. And some of those are worth hundreds of millions. Maybe that's why Jagex didn't do that, I think they really had to stop RWT for legal reasons. But if they also said the weilder had to have the levels to use the armour... Imagine autoers with 75 attack and 70 defense! Nah that would ruin it for pures, but if they did everything my idea said it would not be as good as it was but might bring some people back eventually.

Tip.it Times Presents: Jagex, I want a GOOD update!
Brilliant! By removing most of the repetitive clicking, they have reduced the repetitive clicking! Why didn't I think of that? Lol why didn't I noticed that.

Tip.it Times Presents: Jagex, I want a GOOD update!
Few bad points again in the article, I'm gettin tired of this but: Getting rid of RWT'ers doesn't mean that you'll have to remove attack options in the wilderness and replace it by some lame minigame you don't even need strategies and skills for(i mean actual pking skills). You could make the wilderness a safe zone that you won't lose anything if you die, a huge cw game ftw? Or make it so that you only get items which a player obtained in the wilderness, like rune ores or green dragon hides. Or add highscores, like bounty hunter has now (that has been suggested for ages when the old wildy was there). And make it impossible to bring cash/green dragonhides/rune ores and other things that have no relation to combat into the wildernes. Maybe there should be something to refund wasted sharks, pots, runes and arrows if you kill anybody, but that could be anything. But I like the part where he basicly says that skill grinding is for people who are idiots, and that it's not making rs better if bots can do skills better then humans due to the skills being to boring.

Most useful update of 2007
Clanchat and Grand exchange The worst updates: Gravestones, Renevants and wilderness removal; I do not say they weren't necessary but they could have fixed it in a lot better ways.

Tip.it Times Presents: Letters to the editor #11
Hehe ok  It's often that pures have mains, because if you want an 1def pure or rune pure which are pretty good you'll need to start a new account if you want to get the right quests etc without lvling. Sorry if my post looked a bit like a rant but I'm just still pissed on jagex for ruining the wild :P

Tip.it Times Presents: Letters to the editor #11
I liked monster hunting to, it was basicly the coolest way to earn money. But after I've slayed a boss for a couple of times it gets boring pretty quickly and then you're only killing them for their drops. But oh wait I can't spend my money anymore on pking so whats the point of doing it. I'm just not one of the people that gets satisfaction from getting xp and getting ranked in the highscores, it's just to boring. And there is nobody who will ever check up your highscores and see how good you are, unless you're on top of the ranks. I'd rather like to go and pk with a team, I might get owned or maybe we own some cool stuff. You'll never know, it's always exciting, also you'll check how good you are compared to other real players. And the best thing is that you can get things where people worked hours for, it's not like unstaked dueling that nobody cares if they die. If I'm going to woodcut nothing special will ever happen, you can always predict what's coming and it's boring as hell. I have explored nearly everything what runescape is about, and the best content in the game was the wilderness. Don't look down on pkers because you were to bad to own in the wilderness. For example view one of my lasts pk's and tell me that wasn't awesome. Everybody can skill, not every one can PK. This is just my view on it.
-
Tip.it Times Presents: Letters to the editor #11
Sorry for not giving a damn about woodcutting, but that skill is just boring as hell and people used it only to earn money so they could buy cool items or to get things for pking. They now made woodcutting normaly possible again on f2p by removing the wildy, well happy scaping. And RWT's were selling sharks straight on websites for real money, so sharks were not at all getting cheaper thanks to them unles you were a lifeles that buys things from them with real money. I know, some PKers are prats. But for me was pking the only good thing about the game, being able to take whips from people where they have worked for like a week for? What could be better than that?
-
Tip.it Times Presents: Letters to the editor #11
I really don't care about the 3k limit, although it's a bit anoying and the grand exchange is really great. The only thing that did anoy me very much was that the wildy got ruined. The first letter was not interesting, it did not make clear points and who the ... cares about the economy anyway. The only reason why many people were merchanting, skilling or doing minigames which are money earners was to pk. The third letter was a little better, but it's like he forgives jagex for what they've done, they could have thought way better solutions to replace pking.

How to fix RWT without "fixing" RS
The wildernis hasn't got anything to do with real world trading. Even with these new methods, people will just buy/sell accounts. I will quit my membership if the wildy does not return.
-
Tip.it Times Presents: The absence (or surplus?) of Time.
That's why I don't do skills like firemaking and woodcutting, they are useless. I'd rather have fun while pking etc. I don't believe firemaking capes will make people happy, they just show how lifeless you are..
-
Tip.it Times Presents: Co-op or Competitive?
Not really interesting story, when you're DDing at hilz with a group you basicly take over the area and kill anyone who comes there until a bigger or better group comes and owns your group. That's called team multiplayer, you don't have to choose at all.
