I told them all to do it on BB but they're a bit mentally delayed :(. They're all in the 20-30's already and apparantly that's too far to switch servers for them.

My friends are all starting over with horde so that we're all on the same level and can group together. I decided to be a rogue, and since we've got a few experienced rogues here I was wondering what horde race I should go with (good for group PvE) and how I should go about leveling it.

Airplane on a treadmill
The answer is: it's a loaded question. If you use the logic that I used above your post, then you'd have to assume the wheel and conveyor can go infinite speeds. I'm not sure, I just know it's a loaded question and can be interpeted in a few ways. In my head, it takes off.

"The only purpose the wheels serve here is to hold the plane up, and to eliminate most of the friction between the plane and the ground. When the engines fire up, the plane will still start moving forward. The only difference will be that the wheels are turning twice as fast as normal." The plane will take-off as the speed of the conveyorbelt is irrelevant. The treadmill and wheels cancel eachother out, yes. But the jets provide a net +force.

Airplane on a treadmill
Nevermind, now that I think about it I guess it does work..

Airplane on a treadmill
I would have thought that after thinking over and over in your head, you'd be taking a step in the right direction.

Airplane on a treadmill
Oh come on, not another one... Indy, it just doesn't work.

Airplane on a treadmill
You'll have to excuse me, but after trying to explain it over 2 pages...

Airplane on a treadmill
There are no "sides". This is not a "debate". This is a matter of right or wong, possible or impossible. The plane isn't going to take off under those conditions, now matter how much hot air you blow out of yourself to convince yourself otherwise.

Airplane on a treadmill
Why are you argueing against physics? :wall: X a jazillion

Airplane on a treadmill
But you have to take in the fact that to get in the air, the plane has to reach the speed on the ground first. A plane is just a big car with wings until it gets enough forward velocity to take off. On this treadmill, it has no forward velocity, so no lift.

Airplane on a treadmill
You're analogy has NOTHING to do with this situation. In your analogy, the skater is moving along the treadmill on its own power, just as the jet is. There is no man pushing the jet here. It doesn't matter how it propels itself (for the 3rd time). I want you to understand this most simple of concept, for your sake.

V for Vendetta
We watched it in English class (we were reading 1984 and I guess it's remotely relevant). I liked it, and after realizing it's based off a comic book I forgave some of the cheesy stuff.

Airplane on a treadmill
That analogy has absolutely nothing to do with your question :|. I'm out, it doesn't look like you're going to grasp this.

Airplane on a treadmill
Like I said it doesn't matter what the means of propulsion is. Equate it to the airplane with it's engines on full blast, but no wheels. It's just sitting there. You're not gunna be able to wish it into the air because there is no lift. It's not going to take off.
-
Airplane on a treadmill
What?! Look, the plane is not moving forward, thus it is getting no lift. Try to think really hard about it, please.
-
Airplane on a treadmill
There is no air going through the wings. It's going 0 mph forward, why would there be any lift?
-
Airplane on a treadmill
Have you never been on a plane before? They don't just hover and take off, they need to reach a certain speed on land before they can. The means of propulsion make no difference. Not if it was a jet, a rocket, or a regular combustable.
-
Airplane on a treadmill
It's not going to lift off without any tangent velocity (which it will obviously never get with a treadmill under it). Also, I thought this was more of a philisophical question, not a matter of physics...

Any coppers here? A few questions...
I wanted to be a cop, until I started getting speeding tickets and getting pulled over for "cracks" in my brakelight >.>

I know that the game isn't for everyone but stopping at level 8 because you think the pvp sucks? >.> I'd at least try to level to 19 or something (though it'd probably take you 6 months at your pace) and try some real, real world pvp. I know everyone says this about every game, but it truly gets better at higher levels :)

What's the most you've lost?
I lost my senior year of high school :(

Yeah, can't say I can complain about room for error for me... Fear get resisted? Recast. DoT get resisted? Instant recast. Can't get that damn warrior off my back? Deathcoil his butt. Need more mana? Lifetap. Need more health? Drain life. Almost embarassing :P
