  1. ...When rune was purple, you could wear rune at any level, simply having addy stuff made you an elite player (and being able to smith it made you a god), working like mad to raise cash for a rune shortsword. Not as old but: Having to type in a passcode to wake up from sleep, mining by right clicking and selecting was the only way to mine, forced 3 round combat in the wildy, and the saddest day in runescape when holiday drops were made untradeable. Edit: Haha, almost forgot the best one: When instead of asterisks replacing censored words, the word "cabbage" was put in place by the censor.
  2. Used to always use high detail until I discovered low detail had no roof tops and no intro music. Now its low detail 100%.
  3. How much space could extra bank items possibly use up on Jagex's servers? I mean look at imageshack or gmail, i doubt storage space is a problem. If it was, we wouldnt be able to have unlimited characters and keep them forever.
  4. This is great. F2p really does need more bank space, especially those of us who have had p2p multiple times and know the heartache involved with clearing your bank to f2p size. I say Jagex should at the very least give post-P2Pers some extra space to either store their member items, or as a parting gift for paying for their originally free game.
  5. No its about 2 years and 114 days ago. I used to sign in on it to check if it was still active and make sure it wasn't hacked. BTW, sorry about bringing up Earthlink. I guess Bellsouth kicked them outta my neighborhood.
  6. If they did resume drops it would probably help noobs more then if they didn't. It would give new players the chance to have a rare item! Duh Jagex! Oh yeah, plus make the game more fun! Which is what a videogame is supposed to do!
  7. 844 days ago. On my very first Runescape character made back in late 2001 or early 2002. RSN: Masterchief ... (long retired) It even had our old Earthlink IP address (do they even exist anymore?). Probably not a record and I have no screenshot to prove it unlike some of you who archive every Runescape moment, but my jaw dropped when I saw that. So have any of you resurrected an old character? Or just signed on for old time sake?
  8. When items were dropped they would appear at time intervals just randomly among the ground. There would be a system message that appeared on the screen saying "Merry Xmas" or something along those lines and the items would just appear on the ground. I dont know if the density of items was relevent to the number of players on the server but when I was on I saw atleast 5 items in visual range if I remember correctly. Of course they were snatched up pretty quickly.
  9. I don't know about the rest of you, but I actually gave some away to friends who were not on that day. 5 to be exact. Runescape lost alot of "fun" value the day they stopped scattering items on the ground for us to fight over **misses the good ole days**.
  10. ^^^ 10-12 hours wow!! I get a headache after 2, and if I go past that I realize Ive been playing a videogame for 2 hours and stop. Geez.
  11. So its unanimous, rune ores are the best way to make money?

  13. I always wanted a green party hat because green is my favorite color. I worked my way from yellow, to white, to green (back in rsc when green was more than white).
  14. I find party hats to be one of the most interesting things happening in the game. As a former economics student, this is a premium example of supply and demand. If there is any good comparison to the real world, rares are like stocks. They fluctuate based on factors going on in the economy. If the economy is good, they go up and vice versa. For example take Google stock. When it came out at about $90 per share in '04 and now trades at $419.33 (6/30). If you bought in early you made a killing, JUST LIKE PARTY HATS AND OTHER RARES. The reason Runescape is so interesting to me is because of a dynamic economy where investments pay off. Prices will reflect demand, and since the supply is constant, or even decreasing, price can only increase. Its just natural in a Laissez Faire economy. Jagex must keep the economy as such, I think they try to interfere too much already by introducing cash drains and making new drops untradeable.
