We do not want to go to war, but we will fight for what we think is right. How the hell can Washington protect the states if it was destroyed during a nuclear holocaust? How the hell can the people be safe under a fascist regime? What the hell happened to the humble United States of America after the second World War? The US became severely corrupted and began to brutalize other nations. The US supported oppressive regimes in other countries. Nay! We only want to protect America due to the downfall that it suffered after being destroyed in a nuclear holocaust. Washington is in ruins, and many areas of the former Union are stained by atrocities. People suffer in the streets. Homes are ruined. We admit that we have our own faults, but the best thing that can happen for both of us is a united brotherhood. We wish to restore America to its former glory and reinstate old freedoms. We want to rebuild the American infrastructure. We want to make Americans equal to any other citizen of the Commonwealth.

Perhaps we can reform. We are trying to transition toward a Washingtonian republic, and we are trying to keep our kin united. We have worked so well in the past, but the recent downfall of our biggest ally has caused us a lot of problems for both of us. Perhaps there's some sort of compromise?

The Lord Protector has given a speech concerning Fascism, arguing that it is a doctrine based on brutality, racism, and blind loyalty to the State. "The individual must die so that the State may live... Do we honestly want that for our future generations?" Due to the rise of fascism, the Lord Protector has given a plebiscite concerning the future system of the Empire. "My fellow Commonwealth citizens... For years we have tried to move from monarchy toward a New Republic... A republic founded on justice and individual freedoms. I must ask every single one of you, 'Should we go ahead and become a libertarian Republic now, or should we continue our slow transition from monarchy to republicanism?' " The Continental Army is starting to swell with supporters of a future free from fascism. They may not totally agree with the approach that the Commonwealth is taking toward the path of a stable Republic (arguing that it doesn't matter if the transition happens quickly or slowly), but they believe that the Commonwealth is the best chance that they have in order to enjoy the same freedoms that was enjoyed under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They want to fight fascist America.

Due to the recent reconquests of the American Colonies, the following realms have been set up under Commonwealth rule: Georgia Carolina (combined North and South Carolina + Tennessee) New York Pennsylvania New York Delaware Maryland Massachusetts New Hampshire Rhode Island New Jersey Connecticut Virginia (West Virginia has been unified with Virginia) Vermont Michigan (Ohio/Great Lakes region) They all will be receiving their own governors. The Commonwealth has fully established the Continental branch of the Grand Army, the Continental Army. It is now recruiting members from these new colonies.

Honestly, voting for a corporatist Democrat is just as bad as voting for a corporatist Republican. Besides, Democrats and Republicans really aren't as different as you would imagine.
