RuneScape Information

  1. This I agree with, in it's logic & sense.
  2. I did/done 100's of barrows runs, and still will and do. The main thing as in RS is to have fun, of course there will be many various suggestions, tried and tested tips, but of course nothing to stop you finding out what suits you and your personal style. The way I do it, is costly, however I personally offset xp/gp/fun... It's a game after all. I use the shop in Canifis, bring noted p pots, sharks, and pretty much mage everything in sight when im down there. Ahrim is of course an exception to the rule, dds him, "Stab" works slightly better, if lucky get him poisoned. When you get a drop from the chest its happy days.. It was for me on my old acc my main source for the rest of the game, I was on ancients back then, and trips to W2 to sell my newly gotten drop, stock up on runes, buy herbs...all a happy but distant memory now ! Word of warning. : I still see gravestones down there even today, taking risks with no pray is dodgy, obviously depends on armor, combat lev etc. I personally was and always will be a "Prayer Noob" in there, I have seen what Dharok can do on 5% hp hehee... So enjoy.. and good luck !
  3. Higher randomization of the "Random Events" requiring typing of answers and clicking of icons in event. Captcha could also be hybrid, including symbols instead of normally typed numbers and letters, this extra input would always require human intervention. Removal of all post deposit boxes may help. Requirement for all bank acc's to have a pin. If random event was not completed properly, bank would be reset, needing pin entry again. I suppose the more you think about it the more you realise that it is not an easy task to eradicate the current crop of bot's. Manual intervention is perhaps the only weapon that would create a headache for said creators & users of bots. The more measures that Jagex implement the more it would slow down the real players. Then the upset would kick in, and the all too common flame posts and dummy throwing would ensue. So it may be regarded as a "Catch 22" situation, as we well know the bots cater for a market of raws, when certain items are needed fast from GE, whos to know who or what gathered, made them... Once again its a constant problem for many years as I see it, one that will not go away over night, but one that could be tempered much more, but at what cost to Jagex's revenue, and to our total gameplay experience. ?
  4. To change robes back to normal after colouring them, use them on your rune guardian in your inv. Useful for colour changes, and of course trading them on.

    Lagging

I discovered many many years ago on CS when I used to frequent a Internet Gaming Cafe, just how important lag is... Just how much IM LAGGINGGGG was shouted out. The guy who owned the place took covers off comps, ran aux fans on them, set up dedicated connection for the "CS Crew" and another one for the rest... come forth into today... Well, many yrs ago in the steel dragons, when I ... Lagged, lost a lot that day, no gravestones back then... just a couple of guys who were there also, who found my death and their new found wealth highly amusing... Back into the here and now, yes, I suffer badly from lag, I cant pk cos of it, nor stake, which in a way is probably a good thing. Hopefully soon I will be moving, and will purchase a proper OFL of a top ISP here in the Uk. Will that help my RS experience... a tad I suppose, will give me more chance's to make a bit more out in wildy, and the confidence when I get higher leved to have it large with those Top Mobs out there... So yeah while Lag is seriously annoying, sadly it is part of the Internet Experience...
  6. Did a lot of barrows runs pre "update" and afterwards, seems I get a lot less death runes now, and of course the un-needed "restore pot, Super def pot" ok, may get the odd p pot or what not but have to lol @ the gravestones I saw round the tunnels... Congrat's to those who got those massive drops earlier, how I would have loved to be high enough leved to have had a touch like that, they must be so made-up!!. And to those who "RageQuit" as they were left out, then they need to develop some social skills, practice "Acceptance & Understanding"... Jagex can't please all the players all the time, today in many ways is that showing again, I for one am happy that they keep adding, updating, and at least making some effort with the constant evolution of the game. So I wont be "Quitting" far from it and am enjoying being back since my long long break.
  7. From Kitten to Cat approx 2hrs, from Cat to overgrown Cat another 2hrs, so 4hrs all in all... Do the rat-Catchers quest to make overgrown cat into Wily cat !!
  8. Ten Years Accompanying Article by Logdotzip Edited by Racheya Wow what a journey you had... for one so young you are able to convey so well your memories and parallels between RS & Life. Felt for you when you mentioned both the passing of your father, and the betrayal of your trust by that low-life. Gaming has been part of my life as well since I was young, now I am old... *Laughs* I still play. It was heartening to read as I have found that the game has taken a lot of flak recently, and it is too easy to be caught up in the negatives, when really at the base of it all... Its a game, a form of enjoyment, somewhere to escape & unwind, to be as you want it to be. So thank you for taking the time to write and share with me, I wish you all the best in RS & Life. Regards. G.
  9. Long ago when i was a noob in full black i fell foul of the "Trim Armour" scam, lost my plate, i was extremely upset, gave that guy grief whenever he showed online for months... I suppose that made me weary. Then one day in fale many months later a guy says would i buy a whip quick sale half price, im interested of course... So he says his friend is selling it, follow him and we can do the deal. I have tele runes, 1m cash, normal clothes on no armour... We go in fale park, he says take this candle and tinderbox, then trade me it when we go down... Ok... by now im curious, but happy to play along, and see if there is such a cheap whip for sale... We go down into the giant moles tunnels, he trades me, asking for candle&tinder box.... so i trade him it Then he trades me with a whip, closes window, does it again... keeps doing it, but i notice i am being attacked, its dark, and slowly im losing health... "Trade me he says... quick"...I give up when i get to 50% health...tele back to fale, run down to the entrance to mole, and he shows, so i trade him... "Sell it to me now" Say's i... he teles away.
  10. I run the downloaded app from Jagex, never play in browser after it compromised me in the past. Never had any problems with it at all.
  11. amazed i am to be on a world that is empty in seers. But i noticed since update so many p2p world have a handful of people in them... surely this cannot be down to dare I say... "bots being disconnected"?? Or have Jagex just got rid of a load of them ?? More will be revealed in 12-24hrs i suppose, back to 1k+ in each p2p world again... Hope not tho !! Kinda like the silence and freedom...
  12. You need a Hammer to mend the railings, your guide does not mention this, teleport runes, or tablets and if possible a charged amulet of glory to get you to edgeville, or telerunes/tablet for varrock, and speed up process of completing the quest. If you go to start quest without hammer, go to the building just east of the cannon, in there you will find a hammer. Looking closely at railings you may see a slight bend/kink in some, those are the ones that need to be replaced. The entrance to the dungeon is n/e of the fishing guild entrance. Otherwise rest of guide is good. Hope this helps/speeds up completion of guide for fellow scapers. Regards. G.
  13. You have been playing many years, don't forget where you came from, why you started to play in the first place. Take time to remember your journey, the lows & highs. Have a think what your next goal may be in the game, being in "God-Mode" with gp as you are you can change a lot of lifes for the better, or you can buy some 99 skills. I am only back a few weeks after being away 4years or so, but something i do, weekly...just to stay in touch, go back to f2p, help out a few newcomers, give some armour, weapons...hides.. you know, help them on their way a little with a small boost/gift to make their day better. I do not forget the kindness shown to me by certain random players when i started, i made sure i paid them back however i could when i made gp before. Enjoy what you have achieved, many would love to have what you have to do what they want in that respect, but all i can do is suggest how to get back to grass roots for you, so you make the most of a game you enjoy & are very successful at.
  14. I *think* it's +250 crush and +250 range defence to get the warriors and rangers off of you. And I *think* +100 mage defence to get the blood reavers off of you. Are you a 2nd cousin ?? I know the arcane family is quite large haha
  15. Without bots; RS would be a game where people could also do some of the gathering skills themselves for relativly good money (especially when you consider the risk involved =none)... In other words; ALL of the skills would be used and enjoyed once again, and this diversity is what I believe is what makes RS so unique... And that in a sense would bring us nie on full circle back to how rs1 was when it came out, a world without bots (To begin with). Players would have to work a lot harder at certain skills to sustain their spending habits, but on the flip side... would they want to ? And surely Jagex know what is going on 100%, being "God" as they are, they can alter the fruits of the eco-system, work on % of what is consumed, and allow a set amount into the economy in order to create the balance so that it doe's not all go totally pear-shaped. An interesting debate, but sadly one that has been going on for years now with this game, does Jagex ever unleash the Chemo that is needed for the Cancer of the Bot's? Or does the game sit waiting on a healthcare list, slowly dieing due to the very fundamentals of its creation being poisoned. ?
