Made this illustration of a Phoenix holding a weblayout, I had a couple new idea's for the FenixDesign logo, and heres one that my mate liked the best.. He wanted it kinda firefox style..

Well, i like the concept but dont think its totally finished.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The weblayout... maybe let it look more like a weblayout cant really figure it out. If its their website, maybe that would explain it and make it look like a layout.

 

 

 

Then about the phoenix, the head looks cool, the wings and arms arent bad either looking good. But maybe you could work a bit on the tail, it maybe needs a bit like a live of its own (dutch, "sierlijk"). Like not a slim tail but a wider one with it look like 5 feathers or something. hope this is a bit clear.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

but thats what i would do for changes. But a nice idea.

Maybe make the "web layout" a bit larger or more defined. You cant really tell what hes holding.

 

 

 

Also maybe add some kind of red glow around the bird?

As was also said i think the tail needs to be a bit thinner at the end maybe?

I like it; but you should change the 'layout' it looks like a uhm mail or something. "Postduifje :P"

I think it's a cool concept, it's one of the few places it would look good. It doesn't look like some nasty filter pile, it's a well used glow. However, unless this is going to be STRICTLY a web company, ie, this logo will never be printed; I strongly suggest you don't use the glow. I know from experience that glows and shadows print horribly on business cards and letter heads, etc. Just thought I would throw that in there.

He can always use different versions of the logo. A glowy one for the site. A regular one for print in colour and a specially recoloured greyscaled one so it still looks good when printed in mono

Yeah, I guess if it was designed for print it was a failure from the get-go. ;) Many people believe the idea of "If it doesn't look good in B&W, it's not a good logo." This would lose its spunk if printed in B&W.

The layout he is holding is just a sloppy sketch right now, will be replaced with the actual layout of the site..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I had the biggest trouble with the tail, I couldnt get a good look out of it, this was the best out of my sketches.. Will try something similar to this, a bit mroe feather defined curly tail, as I drew in school today.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I like the glow idea, but as said, it wouldnt be printed.. But it would be useable for just the layout, as mercifull suggested, and an altered b-w and/or normal coloured version for print..

its looks nice, but it would be better i think if the body of the phenoix looked more like a bird.

I agree. People think I'm an [wagon] but that's only because the first time I offer constructive criticism they come up with some bs about how they are too tired to fix it. You don't.

Yup, I also kind of don't like how "together" it is. I'd like to see the flames kind of flowing off like feathers would. Right now it kind of looks like puzzle pieces.

The colouring, the head and the concept is great. But I personally dislike the body structure, and as mentioned snout the tail. Also for it to be more pheonix like, where the lefts wings are, you could add some extended flames that arent attached to the wing. All in all it's great work, looking forward to seeing the new designs.

Yeah, as Ryan noted too, its a bit too much together, 1 piece..

 

 

 

Ill get another design for the tail, and Ill add extended loose flames..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dont expect anything tomorrow, got exams coming up.. Have to study..

 

 

 

Might be able to work on it on sunday, or at latest monday..

 

 

 

Most time taking part will be the resketching on paper.. Helps me to egt my options straight :P
