Over the past few weeks i've heard a number of people in game discussing jagex releasing an option to change your username.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Can anyone confirm this or is it just another rumour?

people have been talking of changing usernames for years now but i doubt it will happen. if you change your name it has to change on everybodys friendlist and ignore list which be quite alot of programs using up too much memory

I don't think it'll ever happen though. A problem it may cause is that you may start to see alot of usernames like "zezimaxxxxx" or such which pretty annoys me slightly

I think it would be nice if they released a system where you had a display name and a login name, but again, this would be quite confusing.

it'll never happen. say someone has a bad reuptation, and theres plenty of people that do...they change there name and basically can start a new reputation, for good or bad. just keep changing names once they get a bad rep again. and other reasons..its just useless..if u dont like ur name u should have never chose it in the first place.

I can't remember where I saw it but I saw a screenshot of someone sending this question into Costumer Support. It said that they are, in fact, working on a way for people to change their names. I'll see if I can find the screenshot.
