April 4, 200719 yr Al Kharid is the best place to smelt for f2p. Assuming you're still p2p you could use the furnace in the ghost village of Port Phasmatys.

Also you can see - and therefore click - the bank from the furnace and vice versa at neitznot making the whole process much quicker for significant smelting runs.

But its easier to get to the port rather than running all the way to neitznot, especially if you are taking breaks to do other things.

Which is exactly why I went out of my way to include the phrase "for significant smelting runs" in my post. No, it's not efficient use of your time to go to neitznot to smelt five ores. It is efficient use of your time to go to neitznot to smelt five thousand ores.
April 5, 200719 yr for f2p it's definitely al hkarid. p2p, i'm sure theres a better way than al hkarid. Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)
