One question (scam reporting?)

I was just wondering: if a person tries to scam you, but you see it and declines the trade. Can you report that person for item scamming then? :-s

I know that you can't report players for item scamming if they haven't talked or completed a trade in a while. I'm thinking that the people who look over reports wouldn't look at the ones who weren't scammed.

well that's stupid. just because people are smart enough to close the screen before they get scammed that their reports shouldn't be looked over :S.

I'm pretty sure it does. If not, then they might just keep a close eye on the scammer. Nine times out of ten, the scammer will attempt it again.

I believe Jagex does not 'ban' the player if you declined the trade before you were scammed. Also, I'm not 100% sure that they action the report either because you did not lose your items.

iunno but if it helps, they take a vid. of the 60 seconds before u clicked the report abuse button, so if they see that a scam was attempted, they may ban them, im not too sure on this

 

 

 

but imagine how many times uve reported someone, then multiply by the roughly 100k ppl who are logged on at a time, thats how many reports jagex recieves so i doubt they look through all of them very thoroughly,

 

 

 

o and from personal experience, i got scammed 150k from a noted coal scammer, i reported right after trade was accepted, a week later i find him there attempting the same scam, so he was never banned cuz jagex probably didnt have the time to look at my report

How about someone just sends jagex the question and posts the answer here. I would do it myself, but f2p questions never get answered.

trust me, 3 months from when it happened he prolly got hit with the ban stick, I had said some things which got me a perm mute recently but said them 3-4 months ago.

How is it confidential? If Jagex told you, then im sure they aren't worried about lots of people finding out.

 

 

 

Is or is not, attempting a trade scam but failing, a bannable offence?
