Contrary to ignorant belief, rapping requires lyric creation and adaptation to a rhythm and a beat. It's the same as any other genre of music, although words are 'spoken', not sung.

 

 

 

I don't care for any of this new rap, it really is rubbish. But if you were to check out Grandmaster Flash, the man is an absolute genius. He has a brilliant message in most of his work, as well as it sounding pretty funkay.

And I agree with you 100%. Just ask Wakka, I got into a five page-long debate with him, he was claiming all rap is talentless and ridiculous, while he sits around and listens to bands like Cannibal Corpse. I personally love rap, and I think it's really fun music. If I can dig up what I wrote about it a while back I'll just do that, rather than typing my opinions entirely over again.
