if ur fighting something, i think u get logged, u shud test that

go to an agressive monster place, bring nothing, start fighting, x out, then see if u can log back in, if u can, it means u were loggeed, or it may say,"ur account is already logged on, please try in another 60 seconds" or something

If you're fighting something and you get logged out, you stay logged in until such time as your character does nothing for 1 minute. This can be because:

a) you won your fight and your character is now standing around doing nothing,

B) you lost your fight and your character is now standing around lumbridge doing nothing, or,

c) you got teleported somewhere by a random and your character is standing around doing nothing.

If you are somewhere with a lot of aggressive monsters you stand a very good chance of simply being fought until you die.

When you're fighting a monster you keep attacking it till its dead then your character logs out.

this wont happen...

if you have already log out for around 10 seconds during the fight; after you win or lose the fight, you will immediately log out...

this method is called "x" out...

You can log off while fighting, if you close the screen *You do not say logged in!*

But you will auto die depending on which monster it is, say you might not die if you're fighting a rat at level 90.

I was doing the minigame (not temple trekking, but the other way) and had an event with 6 shades (level 80 or so), I cb 88, internet went out, when I was able to log back in, I was still alive, so was the character I was protecting and so were the shades.

Auto-die? :-k So if I logged off fighting a Kalphite Soldier, the server would be like "OMG! He logged out fighting a Kalphite Soldier! I have to auto-kill him now!" But if I fought a rat it would be like "Oh, just a rat, no need to auto-kill him."

Ha.. that's not how it works. If you lose connection or get "X"ed out whilst fighting a monster, the "inactive" timer starts to tick. If you kill that monster, and there are no other aggressive monsters around to attack you, you will be logged out after a short amount of time. But, if you're in a place with lots of aggressive monsters, you may not get the chance to log out before you die. This is especially true in an area with ranged monsters and/or multi-combat zones (Dagganoths, for example).

My best advice is to ensure you have a good connection before you go into dangerous places, and make sure you have no annoying siblings that will commandeer your mouse and "X" you out. Also, be wary of clicking off the RS window and hitting backspace.. that will take you off the window and effectively "X" you out.

Sorry for the long post!

I think what they said is right, it's probably like when you lag out (or internet goes out, basically the same thing). General rule of thumb, any monster you use food on to kill and it happens, you're probably dead. Many times I had food and everything and could of beaten the monster (or at least used a prayer to keep another item) and died. If only there was a way for it to finish the fight like an average person would (using prayers, eaten food etc)
