Olaf's quest

Featured Replies

What's a good agility level to do this? I only have 40 and I've fallen quite a bit.

61 agility hasn't been good enough for me tonight, even bumped with a pot to 64.

67 was fine for me... Make sure you're 'walking' not 'running'.

do you NEED to be unarmed to walk across it?

I did it with 58 agility, now that they fixed it a bit, it isn't that hard (after each failure, succes is more likely)

I'm still falling very often even after the fix.

I finally completed it! I had 40 Agility, wore nothing but a spotted cape, brought along dramen staff, an air staff (dont know why but i had it), 8 agility pots (left with 3), spade, the map Olaf gave me, 1 cooked shark (got it from the quest), and 1 piece of bread (got it from the quest). I fed Olaf salmon at the beginning instead of the shark and bread so I had it.

What I was doing was walking one space, waiting about 15 seconds, moving again, and I kept falling before the gate. So I finally got really mad and just said, this is the last time, and I didn't drink an agility pot, I didn't go one space at a time, I just went straight to the gate without stopping, unlocked the gate, and went straight to land without stopping and made it. I killed the level 100 boss, and teleported out.

That 'learning through failure' patch sure made a difference. Even assuming a base 75% success rate for each of the 12 steps when the quest was originally unveiled, that was only a miserable 3% chance of succeeding overall.

I had it in my head at one point that the map was literally cursed as Olaf said and threw it away each time just before stepping out, just in case mere possession guaranteed failure.

As bad as Mourning's End 2 was, I think it would have been even funnier if the shadows had poisoned as well as sometimes heinous damage. Anyhoo, I'm no quest writer and will keep it that way.

I finished the quest with 40 agility. I probably failed about 5 times (after the update). I don't really think you needed the agility pots. I wore full armor and all so It didn't really matter for me.
