Out of Longswords and Scimitars, what are the best weapons?

 

 

 

and out of all normal weapons (No whips, Granite Mauls or other independent weapons) which are the best?

this is impossible to answer, as it depends on your prefrence. i would say for power, 2h is best, for a mixture of power/speed and ability to use shield, baxe, scimmy and longsword are almost the same, but scimmy is a lil faster and longsword is a lil stronger. most people prefer the scimmy as it is quite fast and reasanbly strong.

I would have to go with scimatar, and judging by all the people using rune scimmys, I think I have a lot of support on that issue. I have tried other weapons, and baring resistance to the scimmys slashing attack, the scimmitar wins.

As said it is all about prefrences. One could also take into consideration that with a higher attack lv you are more likly to hit sso for me i choose to use a b ax. But the speed of the skim is nice to. It is all what you like :D

For F2P, training-wise, rune scimitar is the way to go. Good strength and speed, overall a nice weapon.

 

 

 

For P2P, the dragon scimitar. Again, good strength and speed. Good all-around training weapon.

Whip is best for all purposes except str training in terms of speed, str, accuracy and shield capability

I think Scimitars are the best, They have good strength and they are the faster weapons of melee

It depends on the defenses of the enemy that you are fighting.

 

 

 

If you are fighting a chain mail wearing enemy then the (stabbing) long sword is effective.

 

The slash of the scimmy and longsword is not effective against chain.

 

 

 

If it's almost any other "armor" then the slash of the scimmy and long will be effective.

 

 

 

The scimmy is faster than the long but is also weaker.

 

The long is slower than the scimmy but also stronger.

 

 

 

So, get yourself a strength ammy and a 4 dose strength potion

 

(made by the apothecary in Varrock for 5 gp)

 

and try the scimmy.

Well, the same tradeoffs exist in these weapons as for the above 2.

 

 

 

Namely, a tradeoff between fast/slow speed and weak/strong power.

 

 

 

Most players prefer a middle of the road approach and use the scimmy

 

for it's good speed and reasonable strength. (with the above boost items)

 

 

 

The 2nder requires that you give up a shield item and it's slow speed makes it less popular.

 

 

 

But, you really have to look at what the monster is weak against to know what weapon is most effective against it.

 

 

 

Finally, Jagex has stated in the "Behind the scenes" news back when RS2

 

was coming out that they wanted all weapons to be useful.

 

In RSC, the rune 2hder was "it" but for RS2 Jagex wanted players to have more variety.

i have a dragon scimmy and i love it so i would pick scimmy and if u need a little more power then get a super att and super str or just a reg 1 and go at it
