April 13, 200719 yr File sharing is 100% legal no matter how you do it, emailing, sending direct, peer 2 peer etc. Its the actual sharing of copyrighted material which is the illegal bit. Also (and I'm not sure if this is truth or a lie) but I belive that it is the actul act of uploading copyrighted material, not downloading it. But don't quote that on me, its something I heard a while ago and never bothered to look it up.

Users can still be sued and same with all torrent sites with illegal contest. And anyways I wouldn't take these internet related laws so seriously. Laws tend to change slower than the world and it'll probably take at least few more years to get some good and effective laws against internet piratism.
