how do you beat elvarg without defence xp?

Featured Replies

is there anyway somebody experienced can help me with this questino

I wouldn't think there is a way. One of the rewards of completing Dragon Slayer is receiving 18,650 Defence XP.

And as far as I know, you can't avoid rewards.

You can only go through that when you have finished Dragon Slayer.

If you're looking to train on lessers while not beating dragon slayer, try the lessers on crandor itself. Then just tele off.

perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is another

AMEN!

I'm 99% sure that's wrong.

At least it was when I did it, but that was years ago, dunno if they updated.

Taken from the Knowledge Base:

The door that splits the two halves of the dungeon can only be used once you have progressed far enough through this quest to need it.

Which is when you have defeated Elvarg and need to exit the dungeon (essentially when you have completed the quest). If you could use that door, you could of skipped everything about boarding the 'Lady Lumbridge' and crash landing on Crandor.

I think he means that you can open the door from the Crandor side without doing the quest.

And, ys, that is the case. My brother died facing Elvarg, and he could still use the shortcut.

Actually you don't need to defeat Elvarg. As soon as you land on Crandor and enter the volcano you can go through the hidden door. This then allows you to enter the hidden door from either side.

At least this was how it was when I helped a low level player do the quest. He died to Elvarg a bunch of times and kept using the ship until he realized he could use the door.

I agree with the poster above me: you can use the door before killing the dragon: I used that door before killing that dragon. (to proces far enough doesn't necessarily means finishing it)
