A huge cooking addition - GOURMET MEALS

As that Tip.it Times piece says cooking isn't really a fun skill to train. Neither is it a rewarding skill because fish are so cheap and getting cheaper --> There is no need in training cooking up.

This is why I came up with a cooking suggestion: 'meal preparation'

- Making meals would be anything from lvl10 redberry pie to lvl 95 gourmet meals. (you could get rank up in f2p too but gourmet meals are p2p)

- You would get different amounts of meal preparation points from making different foods.

- Redberry pie would give a few points while the best meals could give dozins of points / meal (some gourmet meals over 100)

- The points would come from the amount of ingredients and diffuculty, not the cooking lvl, so high lvl cooking would not be required for ranking up as a gourmet chef.

Seems like I forgot to remove that "meats" and replace it...

(some foods will have many bites (max 6) so the +0,25 will give a total boost of 1,5 ~> rounded to 2.

gourmetmealsdb3.png

(The text would really be black)

The bonuses only have effect on cooking gourmet meals. The piece of food could them be examined and it would say like "salmon meal (#) +1,75" (this means that there would be 10 different stages on every gourmet meals). To save bankspace there would be an option to downgrade food as much as you want. ::'

Gourmet meals would be a bit like the current nonfish foods; It would require many ingredients to prepare meals. The best ones would be quite hard to make and require high levels. High lvl gourmet meals would be untradeable.

Gourmet meals:

Meat/fish + potatoes or/and vegetables + sauce/dressing or/and seasoning

"Might be an idea to add some use to the farming vegetables - strawberries/watermelons etc to give them some real use. "

You could also use different frying styles for the meat/fish such as Flamb̮̩̉̉ and tandoori!

You can really make hundreds of combinations but here are a few examples:

Salmon + fried sliced potatoes + vegetables + sauce

Chompy + seasoning + sauce (super hot sauce?)

Sallad (cabbage+tomatoe+onion+sthing) + dressing

Etc.

...

Emote meals! (just a few suggestions)

Super hot meal: for a while flames come out of your mouth

Tasty meal: You melt and become a puddle on ground :D

...

(Best healing meal): (Juggly bird + butter -> roast -> Flamb̮̩̉̉) + fried sliced potatoes + Sallad (high lvl) + sauce ---- It could be like 6 bites each of which would heal 10!

Making the beast meals would also require some gourmet ranks in addition to cooking levels.

Gourmet chef equipment & rewards

- RFD weapons's attack bonuses would raise with each rank

- Gilded apron (rank 6)

- Gilded chef hat (rank 10)

I think this is a great idea. It would add depth to the cooking skill, but on the downside, bank space would be a problem. Unless they added a POH add-on, so you can store your meals in a refridgerator.

When you make meals, does it just add the health of the items together to make a grand total, or is it somehow calculated?

would cooked (beef)+(cabbage)+(potatoe)+(onion)+(water)=(beef stew) only be (i believe) 6, since 3+1+1+1+0=6, or would it be like 3*(1.5+1.5+1)=12, eaten in 2 bites (random numbers thought up...), rounded up?

Quality posting at its finest.

Might be an idea to add some use to the farming vegetables - strawberries/watermelons etc to give them some real use.

Sounds good though, but i'm confused how the increased healing work, how do you get .5 of a hp :-k ?

i think those numbers may be percentages. when it is in between 2 whole #s, it is rounded up like everything else. the effects of the food you make would likely depend on various factors, including but not limited to ammount of ingredients, quality of ingredients, how complicated the recipe is, and how long it takes to make. this could prove to be very interesting! there may be some wiseguys who think of making macros to cook the tradable ones though, for sale. depending on how good it is, it may become very valuable! besides that, i give the idea 9/10. would the possible ingredients be anything you can think of? and if so, will there be consequences for using too many or contradicting ingredients?

I agree so much with this, all the rich people just buy 200k raw salmon and then get their skillcape... This would be so much better

Yeah, we should get this, it would add complexity to cooking. A meal would be really good, it would save inventory space while not making PvP unfair. Good idea, I support.

What are you smoking?! 200k salmon  .

this is a good idea, cooking is dull...

mabye make some of the simpler dishes f2p (for example you mentioned adding salad to other foods, etc, mabye make salad makable by f2p, but to combine u must be member)

to overcome bankspace, just add more or add a tab to the bank where u can store the meals

jagex would probably have to press and cut to not let it run rampant across the java limits and although i love thos idea, combinations would have to be pre-set or someone might make like jubbly+ stuffing (+knife+bread+sauce+onion+potato)+salmon patties (salmon cooked with little bits of green pepper)+ salad and have a meal that heals like 50hp per bite at then camp at dust devils for seven days, flooding the economy with the drops. although i do love the idea, slayer tasks that are in far out places like dagganoths would be made easier since you might have double the healing ability than you previously did. thus two trips in the pace of one
