  1. Magic training may be alching only but then again melee training can be leaving your character to AFK with guthans and ring of life to bandits just to come back 3 hours later to see you are still gaining xp. About all that "old content needs updates" including Rum brewing and prayer AND firemaking, I've triend my part of suggesting all those as updates at RSOF but as everyone knows most users are [developmentally delayed]ed there. No-one even pays attention unless you name your thread "nature rune staff" or "horses". As for magic I think they should somehow balance it to fill the combat triengle but not with more damage. Magic needs more melee defence! Torag gets [bleep]ing 300 ranged and melee defence and archers block 80% of spells... You should never forget combat triangle! 300 melee defence for mages! (along with 0 ranged def, eh? : ) GOP... Everyone just plays is for the rewards. That game is no fun. I couldn't care less if it was removed. Along with Soul wars which is 99% about rewards, 1% about having fun playing it. That one I'd actually be happy to get rid of. ----> Everything is working out just well if you do not like pking. PVP is lame and prayer as a skill is a joke.
  2. If only Mount and Blade was a MMO... :D Runescape combat only lacks multiplayer aspects and true battlemages (rather than magic just being a support skill); Doesn't take a genious to notice many popular MMOs focuse on teams sized 4-15 to battle each other. Barbarian assault, Stealing creation, Castle Wars and (p2p) FoG are all great minigames but Soul Wars is just a piece of [cabbage] for the fact you can't start games with only a few people... All people flood 2 servers resulting in 33% of people just afking to gain the points. Also the reward is way too unbalanced. Compare to SC's 10% difference which results to both teams being usually balanced. Anyway, more PVP minigames! :)
  3. Nice guide but the Barbarian assault part... Never wear robes to BA, take your best antimelee/antirange armours. Personally I wear torags + dfs + fury etc. to make it easier for healers. Magic also hits pathetic damage in addition to total lack of defence which is why every skilled team leader tries to avoid recruiting mages into teams (or people wearing robes). As you might or might not know combat spells are also a very slow way to train magic unless u burst lobsters for mage/charms (way more usefull than bursting monkeys or mummies). Also if you do go as a mage (not good) you need to be able to cast high level spells or your just weighing down your team so "NO" for beginner mages. - Rank 5 in all -
  4. The fact u recommended Karils against miths made me laugh a bit :D Armadyls have highest mage def in game u see (from what I compared the stats like 25-33% higher than blackhide). Nice guide :)
  5. Summoning and slayer are both painfully slow for a tank archer... Even with voids and potion broads hit only up to 30s
  6. Because most skills are dead skills. They only now exist for you to buy them to 99. (mining, smithing, fletching, firemaking, cooking, farming, construct, crafting, magic and herby...) If 10 out of 24 skills consist only of investing money something is wrong. Also your wrong about the "for every coal being bought there is someone mining it". I can get more coal than I could use from Manage thy kingdom. edit: "crafting +200% if using GEM (s) --- Not really all that handy, think shilo village mines." Changed it to 100%. I've only been mining those gems once and I mostly got topazs, jades and opals. This might actually make the underground Shilo gems worth something.
  7. Forum Name: zuomimiez RuneScape Name: Hoblasei Name to use on picture: Hoblasei Picture: URL:http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/8750/hoblasei.png
  8. Would u mine 50 000 iron ores for only +10%? I edited the easiest ones (cooking, fletch, fm and magic) to be +12,5% but I think the other ones are good as they are.
  9. After GE came I haven't bought raw materials from other players directly. Not once. :| edit: I mean in large amounts of cource. Ive bought a few shards... I have made friends fishing, cooking, woodcutting but rarely got any from tradeing so I would almost say collecting fish etc. is more social than buying them for cooking.
  10. Comb triangle is not fine before mages get some new melee defence means. A staff that gives melee def 3X ur magic att bonus would be nice (with like 3m u can get 100 mage att bonus, torag defs = 300 melee and range). It would also mean more real mages instead of combining with melee or range. Mages would have their 100 mage att and 300 melee def (and 0 range def). Mage problem solved... I think I could even start posting this suggestion here... Tomorrow ^^ ~~~~ Tank archermage ~~~~
  11. Sorry if this thread at times is a bit repetitive. You see it is a copy from my RSOF one... : ****** PROCESSING ITEMS OBTAINED BY URSELF (mining, woodcutting, farming etc.) TO NEXT STAGE GIVES +12.5%, 25% OR +50% XP!!! (****** Interested? Read on : Intro: After having pretty much collected the money to train most skills to max level I have thousands of hours of repetitive working ahead of me to reach those levels. Also earning the money for training... is pretty [bleep]ing boring! Back before GE existed people used to mine raw material (iron, yew, fish) and process them items often used by self. GE made selling/buying items so easy for all players barely no high leveled player collects raw material for own use but instead for efficiency earns money the way best fit for self and then buys all items needed... Suggestion: After you reach 500 total level you can obtain a special ring from completing a quest (which is more like a tutorial, similarly to 'Wolf whistle' which is a tutorial to summoning) Wearing this ring... You get iron ore (s) instead of normal iron ore when mining You get coal (s) instead of normal coal... You get any ore (s) instead of normal ore You get RUNE (s) instead of normal RUNE from runecrafting You get ANY FISH (s) You get ANY LOGS (s) You get FARMING PRODUCT (s) You get STOLEN ITEM (s) You get PLANK (s) from sawmill or lunar spell. You get BONES, LEATHERS, MEAT and METAL DRAGON "scales" come all as (s) items (the only (s) items obtained through combat) You get SAND (s) from sand pits and can pick SEAWEED (s) and FLAX (s) YOU GET THE POINT. All items earned through skills are (s) which is short for "self obtained". ***** IF DROPPED, TRADED OR SOLD THROUGH GE THESE (s) ITEMS LOSE THEIR (s) AND BECOME NORMAL ITEMS!!! ****** ____________________________________________________________ ****** PROCESSING (s) ITEMS TO NEXT STAGE GIVES +25% OR +50% XP!!! (edit: or +12,5%) ****** Ores to bars = +25% xp (The coal used must be (s) also) SMITHING = +25% xp (all components must be (s) ) MAGIC = +12,5% (all runes must be (s) ) COOKING = +12,5% xp FLETCHING = +12,5% xp (GEM TIPS (s) do no exists:P) FIREMAKING = +12,5% xp CRAFTING = +25% xp (+100% if using GEM (s)) CONSTRUCTION = +25% xp PRAYER = +50% if buried on spot, +25% if an altar or ecto is used FARMING = +50% xp!!! (Seed (s) to plant {+ optional Payment (s)} ) HERBLORE = +50% xp!!! (Herb (s) and Vial (s) are both +25% xp each) SINCE THERE ARE NO ITEMS SUCH AS FEATHER (s) YOU CAN JUST USE NORMAL ITEM INSTEAD. This rule works always when there is no (s) to be used with (s). Edit: and since some ppl still dont get it: U dont harvest MTK items urself so theyre not special. Same for Bert and flax... And farming would not be "easy" since u'd need to thieve the seeds or kills hundreds of moles yourself.
  12. There are new shields the sigils (the new visages) to add to U can (maybe) get from revenants and propably from the new lvl 700 boss. (multicombat, hits hard, heals self...?)
  13. Didn't start that early myself. But here's some memories of my beginning days. Miner. Because I had magic levels I couldn't PK anyway. Back then I had 2 friends playing this game both of whom became miners also so there kinda was some competition between us 3. I spent the least time playing which is why before RS2 I never really got any real wealth. My (still existing) classic account has like 70 mining which is the highest skill. (And he owns addy 2h!) When we got RS2 I decided to become an archermage as there were so few archers and mages at the moment (all used melee in classic) and here I am with 99 mage and (sad) 95 ranged. ATM I'm more of a skiller type but I will get 99 ranging and defence eventually. And since ppl have posted their old newbish money earning ways: For a few days I used to change from w to w and collect the spawning cosmic runes from Ice giants in lv 50 wild. Also collected a few loads of earth staves from lava maze.
  14. "I like your item: Nuts" must be one of the most said phrases in our unofficial clan chat :
  15. One word to reply to the thread title: HOPEFULLY As I'm training my rc atm I hope it wont lower nat prices. I guess flax, bs and p ess are likeky to fall.
  16. (I have posted this to RS forums twice but when you have to sleep and go to work after that, the thread is likely to disappear) Approval rating 100% - macros - multiloggers - lazy skillers (read the suggestion) There'd be like 90% less macros for like a year. Even after there'd be 80% less macros. So currently there is a serious problem in all f2p worlds. At peak times with 2000 players in a w u can see 50 macros just on minimap running the route from Sarim to bank. That means there are sometimes ~1000 macros in some worlds!! As JAGeX has stated "They are lv 3 for the fact they ARE new"... The problem is that it is too easy to make those lv 3. My suggestion would change it so that it would take tens of hours to create just 1 macro, meaning no more mass macroing. This would not remove all macros but most. ________________________________ ***F2P WOODCUT*** ATM only the 2 yews in edgeville are being cut by non-macro players. This is why it doesn't really matter to normal players what is done with the other f2p yews so here is the solution: --> Create a new fenced area next to champion guild AND MOVE ALL EXEPT FOR THE 2 YEWS IN EDGEVILLE THERE --> Requires 32 QP to access (champion guild req.) OR Requires 250 NONCOMBAT total level to access (there are 8 noncombat f2p skills so ud need about 31 in all) --> For the EDGEVILLE YEWS there would be the same requirements (would be less yews, but closer to bank) Good sides: - all yews are near -> no running between the trees - wcing would be a social event - no more unused yews around world map (or macro-used) - even tho a bit further from bank ppl would save loads of time time chopping them - NO MORE LV 3 MASS-MACROING Bad sides: - those who want to wc them have to spend a few hours with quests or skills - lvl 3 skillers must actually train skills [WC only pures don't really exist for a) drop trading to main is not allowed B) or the user is multilogging] ________________________________ ***F2P FISHING & SHARK FISHING & MINING GUILD*** - Add a wooden gate to access f2p lobby pier - SAME REQUIREMENTS for the gate than the yews would have - Remove shark spots from Catherby (if you can fish sharks, you can enter fishing guild) - SAME REQUIREMENTS for the fishing guild door than the yews would have - SAME REQUIREMENTS for mining guild. ________________________________ ***NATURE CRAFTING*** (yes there are macros in increasing amounts there too now) - Add 300 noncombat requirement to craft natures (15 skills, 20 in all) - Or 75 QP ________________________________ ***ESSENCE MINING & FLAX FIELD*** - you should have 33% chance of getting some small random (such as "type the letters") when being teleported to ess or when entering the flax field. Answer wrong 3 times and you get teled away. - Mining level should effect mining speed more; at 50 u should have the same speed u have now but at 99 doubled compared to the current 99. ________________________________ Arguments for my idea: If a macro has ~a month of lifetime before getting banned, the person would have to work with quests every day and still run only ~10 macros (finishing quests takes some time and skills). You try finishing the same quests 8 hours a day every day. _______________________________________________________ Supporting ppl on this thread (yes this is a copy from RS forums): me (+ the 15 on my 1st thread which I could not bump because I had work to do) (+10 more from the 2nd thread =| ) Ppl disagreeing: none (+ the one on the 1st thread who said he was too lazy to get 250 noncombat total to his "skiller" ) ________________________________________________________ So post your thoughts and additional ideas. I'll visit TIF every couple of days or more often if I have the time.
  17. bronze warhammer, u hit more with fists
  18. Untrimmed woodcut cape! Wither the person has wasten incredible amount of time because of greed cutting trees (about the most boring thing there is) or has just been cutting willows all the time. Trimmed wc cape is nice tho. Flecthing (which I must say I have stored in my POH) is now after the stringing unpate slower to train so it has become less lame. Haha to u rest. I could get 300k xp / hour to it.
  19. Or then just get 10 of all tools, don't run out of runes. Always have at least 1 uncut and 1 cut gem of each type, have at least 1 of each log, ore and fish type (both cooked and uncooked). Have at least 2 rune sets and dhide sets with bows, arrows, ALL weapons you need/want to use in f2p. Have also all crafting items used in f2p, pray items, ALL ITEMS YOU'LL EVER USE IN F2P. NEVER WITHDRAW ALL ITEMS. Use withdraw x (I had all those exept no greenhides and no willows when I lost members)
  20. 1. There are people EVERYWHERE you go. In member's I see people in banks and popular places. ThatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s about it. (Before you even say it, I am aware that this is because the two types of worlds have the same people capacity but different volumes) --- In f2p like 50% of ppl are macroing :( 2. The people are cooler. I would rather fish lobsters in a non member karajama then have the convenience of Catherby. Random spamming anyone? --- Don't fish lobs!! Fish monkfish and ull ifnd plenty of high lvl ppl willing to chat with you. 3. It has less of a point! It's a game people, not a part time job. I'm not going to argue with people's opinions on whether or not it is fun to chop down virtual trees all day. My point is that the non members have an overall looser feel. ---Don't wc. That's boring. Go get urself lvl 126 combat (or 99 ranged) and some fast 99 skills instead :) You find f2p more interesting only because you are a newb (or noob?)
  21. FROM GOD LETTERS #4 (maybe you ppl should post to postie pete for more information : ) Dear Saradomin, I know there are a good amount of people who might know this question but I thought I might as well ask. I would like to know what the world of runescape was like when it was first created. Nick Petit Ah, a historian I see. Well I almost don't know where to begin. Which is what I said at the time, in fact. But of course it all started with Lumbridge, and the good kingdom of Misthalin. But there was no Al Kharid or Draynor village, and Edgeville was pretty deserted, so people called it Ghost Town. The world back then was a comparatively good place. People didn't tend to wander around Lumbridge calling each other "noob", because everybody was one. Black knights were the toughest monsters, of which there were three. The top equipment you could get was adamantite legs, mithril body, adamantite large helmet, adamantite long sword, and iron kite shield. There were no amulets. Adventurers could, however, sink their teeth into six different quests: the Cook's Assistant, the Restless Ghost, Demon Slayer, Shield of Arrav, Romeo and Juliet and Sheep Shearer. The main skills were combat, ranged, mining and smithing. Cooking consisted only of cooking meat and bread making. Of course, families have always been divided over the issue of vegetables, and this was literally the case now, with many a warrior dropping dead from scurvy. Mourning partners were in time told that there were plenty more fish in the sea, but this was of little consolation, as no-one knew how to fish yet. There was also no crafting, and Lumbridge's traditional Sunday afternoon craft fairs were a bit of a let down as a result.
  22. Just run and hide behind the wall square in the middle and let the gnomes kill it? Also good to put mage pray on, hide and range while gnomes help (I had 50 range back then).
