Guns: will a ban reduce crime?

What's the point of a thousand armed citizens if they never have to use their weapon? :? And who says they won't use their weapon maliciously?

if all law abiding citizens didnt have guns how would this make crime go down when criminals would most likely keep them so that means the bad people have guns and the good people are defenseless
