F2P--- Steel 2 Handers.

Featured Replies

Could I earn a profit if I mine the iron, but buy the coal, and then smith into 2 handers, and sell to the speciality shop?

What is the price of 2 handers in the shop? Where is said shop?

What is the price of coal, nowadays?

the shop is in tavelry, members.

price of coal is 190-200.

probably not.

Price of coal = 190-200? Are you sure? I thought it sold for around 90-120.

Well, would it be a good idea to buy the coal, in order to train my smithing?

  • Author
it wouldnt be a good idea, they sell really low.

Your bes bet is to make steel plates and alch those for 1.2k each or sell them for 1.1k to people training magic.

I cannot alch-- I'm not a mage. Nor can i make steel plates yet, as I'm level 42 (or 44) smithing.

What would be the cheapest way to train my smithing? That's what I was originally thinking.. Whether there is anyway to train smithing, and still earn a profit.

Or if not a profit-- at least not lose any (or much) GP.

Heh, eek, I got the price confused with iron, my bad. Hehe.

I'm going to make iron bars until level 48-- is that a good idea? I will then make steel plate bodies, after I mine iron.

So I will mine 500 iron, and buy 1000 coal, and sell the plate bodies... Would I earn a profit?

If not, is there any quicker way to obtain 1000 coal? :(

The only way to profit from F2P smithing (buying materials) is to make steel bars and sell, ploughing the proceeds back into more ores.

If you mine one part yourself, then you also gain some mining, more profit, but slower.

For bulk smelting in F2P, Al-Karid is the best place - with careful map rotation, it can be one click for each trip.

Yup, I was reading about the one-click trip, and I've been using it since.

How much is coal/iron worth?

How much are steel bars worth?

Is this the quickest AND cheapest way to raise my smithing?

Iron is about 100gp ea,

Coal is about 200gp ea and

steelbars is about 600gp ea.

And yes, Id think of this as the fastest way of training smithing, while gaining money.

I mine 500 iron (50,000 worth, NOT BUYING)

I buy 1000 coal (200,000 worth) at 200GP/EA

smith them into 500 steel bars

Sell the bars (250,000 worth) at 500GP/EA

Or I could buy 500 iron for 100GP/EA, and sell the bars for 100GP/EA more.

Where could I sell the bars? to other players? Shops? Or what?

Oh, and sell on the forum. It is always buyers there!

Read this guy's thread this was how i leveled my smithing from 57 to 68, u get cash and ores inmediately

http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=645013

hope i helped in some kinda of way

... There is no point me doing that, because I'll still have to mine and smith, rendering the whole 'quick leveling' idea useless.
