Use it as a stopgap until you can afford Guthan's armour. For the stats, it's worth the cost of repairing provided you have a steady income as it saves time and food when training. I'm thinking of buying torags armor (not hammers), whip (I'm in the process of getting 70 attack, 68 at the moment), and rune defender (which I'm also in the process of trying to get).
