April 22, 200719 yr Hi, I would like to know is it worth training my farming level up and if so, why? Many Thanks Longorefisher KISS <> Keep It Simple, Stupid
April 22, 200719 yr yea its a fun skill if you train it using tree seeds, fruit seeds, and herb seeds. Also if you buy ranarr seeds and use super compost you can make a profit off em. ~gotsol~ RSN: 1 day late | Private chat: On | 60 ATTACK | 81 STRENGTH | 72 HITPOINTS | | 80 MAGIC | 13 PRAYER | 1 DEFENSE | 65 COMBAT |
April 22, 200719 yr So what's everyone's solution for the boredom factor of growing herbs? I grow sweetcorns for tuna potato topping and hunt unicorns west of Catherby.
April 22, 200719 yr My solution to battle "the boredom" Never sit and watch your plants, and don't stress if they die. If you do one tree run every 2nd day (once you can do trees of course), the XP just keeps churning over. Cheers Count
April 22, 200719 yr plant ur herbs, tree seeds, and fruit tree seeds and go do something else. Dont worry if they die no biggy enough will live, make sure you use super compost and dont worry about planting alootments. ~gotsol~ RSN: 1 day late | Private chat: On | 60 ATTACK | 81 STRENGTH | 72 HITPOINTS | | 80 MAGIC | 13 PRAYER | 1 DEFENSE | 65 COMBAT |
April 22, 200719 yr You should do My Arm's Big Adventure if you want to lvl up farming, My Arm watches herbs for free. Also, if you want to raise farming, pay the farmers to watch your crops, and you can continue on with something else.
April 22, 200719 yr Like posted above, farming is a passive skill. So don't watch them grow, it's like watching paint dry. Unless you like that, do something else. For alotment/herbs (sometimes bush) I try to start and end my "RS day" with a full round. That way, when I return, everything is full grown. The same with trees. Do them for starters, the train any other skill, and make sure u log off near a farming patch so you can plant a new tree as soon as you log in next day. Of course, the indeicated time from tip.it (+ few extra hours) should have passed. Nowadays, I start and end my RS day at My arm's patch, where you can grow herbs 100% disease free. I take 2 of my highest level seeds, harvest, plant, go to sleep and repeat the next day. Then I do whatever I intend. Yeah, definately a skill worthy to train! Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...
April 22, 200719 yr Hey... that's my current situation atm... Just got Quest Cape and now I want all my skills above 60 \ Anyways, you should always try to pay the farmer to watch over your trees. Trying to watch it by yourself is like watching a tree grow in real life... Unless you have a lot of alching to do... Also, if you are going to plant herbs, plant allotments and flowers too, (the cheap ones, don't go buying the expensive seeds), just to get extra exp. This signature is intentionally left blank.
April 23, 200719 yr I farm all the patches except for hops patches. Get yourself nature amulet and bind it to your first patch. 1. Pay the farmers where possible (otherwise use supercompost). 2. Do the Manage My Kingdom - great source of tree seeds. 3. Theive from farmers for seeds and plant all them. I have yet to purchase any seeds for my farming level (85 at the moment). Work at it at least once a day. You be surprised how the levels melt away. In answer to your question is it worth it. All produce/herbs grown can be used on other skills - cooking, herblore. Pots you can sell.
April 23, 200719 yr The one and only useful skill to aid your training of herblore. Why not? Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
April 23, 200719 yr grow rannars a would advise u 2 by rannar seeds 20k each -23k or kill moss giants 4 them then farm them at 25 and u get loads of rannar herbs so u make a bit of xtra muny on the side
April 23, 200719 yr Battling the boredom? Well, I do a farming round before my last log out for the day. Then the next day when I log in, everything has grown/died and I do another farming round before resuming some other task. It works... my farming lvl is 85
April 23, 200719 yr Farming is the most useful stat in RuneScape to date. Farming can help Woodcutting, Cooking, Herblore I think, And as it only helps 2 or 3, It helps them alot. Farming is my favourite stat anyway. I dont need a siggy no moar.
April 23, 200719 yr for me, farming is booooring. id only train it if you want to do some quests with farming requirements or growing herbs Click my main sig to see my fakes :D Proud to be Mexican, yay!
April 23, 200719 yr i do farming because i like to have a well balanced level in all skills, its not that boring but its slow and you can train other skills at te same time. 1. Have you seen the simpsons, episode about this type of games? its really cool. http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/7900/statsko8.png
April 24, 200719 yr I mostly use farming if I'm training some skill in catabery (fishing, fletching or cooking) and then I check my crops ones every five min or so
