Sinless_Hero
How can you not love Thrice? Well i mean if you love hardcore (what used to be) or progressive. Theyre groundbreaking for their genre. Like their lyrics: Image of the Invisible: We're more than static and dial tone We're emblematic of the unknown So raise the banner, bend back your bows Remove the cancer, take back your souls Between the End and Where We Lie: Is this everything, I've dreamed of so much more between the end and where we lie here all our hopes and dreams are scavenged from the floor and fed into machines that feed on vacant eyes all of my dreams, always find me far beyond these fake fluorescent skies I know there must be something more, if I could only find the door then I could free myself and see the world outside Thats awesomeness at its max....seriously.... Sinless_Hero
whens the last time you listened to thrice? They stopped being hardcore in like 2003 when they released artist in the ambulance. Their last CD Vheissu couldnt be considered anything but progressive, due to their past backgrounds of musical genres. Not only that, but their use of illiteration through instruments on songs like Red Sky and Hold Fast Hope is incredible. Even without words, its easy to imagine the waves crashing against the shore, or the silence of a ship sinking... Bluemoon Inn: For those who wish to buy and sell particular things. Even without words, its easy to imagine the waves crashing against the shore, or the silence of a ship sinking... Not everyone's gonna like the music you do. But hey, I'm giving it a listen right now... seems like nothing special so far and honestly not quite my taste. In image of the invisible, when he starts repeating it and all the music cuts out, that kind of annoys me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzQ2hNBy1qQ Whatever that little bit at the beginning was had more promise than the song in my opinion. You shouldn't take any of this to heart by the way; if someone dosen't like your music taste you shouldn't take it personally.
GordanFreeman
Yea...I listened to that whole "Image of the Invisible" song, and it was a complete waste of 4 minutes. Even more so, i rofled at the "progressive" comment you made...so this is what they're calling prog nowadays? Hmm... :| "El que no arriesga no gana"
Sinless_Hero
ya i guess i do take it a little seriously, everyone has there own tastes. I just like them sooo mcuh. Ya its considered Progressive, if you look from where they started and where their headed. Also, I think this is really a clash between genres, especially on Vheissu. Its not longer in a genre of its own, it merges so much... Bluemoon Inn: For those who wish to buy and sell particular things. If that was so, almost all metal, rock, punk (etc.) bands would fall under that genre. Sorry, but I just can't comprehend how someone would think that. Thrice are not it. Echoes of my thoughts exactly. Progress is made in a song, not in a band.
