Ive started that tutorial, its alot more work then I expected #-o

All those directries... I think I dont want to risk any damage to my computer, my parents would freak out :?

Is this whole 'repacing files' and changing directries dangerous for the whole computer? (and files, could my computer crash?)

I don't think you have to change any files on the computer itself, but a lot on the ipod. Or atleast I don't remember creating any files on my computer when I did it (except for the files to put on the ipod of course), but that was a long time ago.

If you do infact mess the ipod up you can restore it with Apple's ipod restore utility. You will lose all your songs on the ipod but that shouldn't be a problem if they are stored in Itunes.

I just need Linux to run all those extra applications.

Like iDoom ( :? ), Wikipedia (yes, wikipedia) iPaint, other fonts, and a game boy emulator.

why on earth would you want to destroy a $300+ ipod ?

:-k

I like to fart silently but deadly in movie theaters
Ard Choille says (11:41 PM):

I wouldn't dare tell you what to do m'dear

He wont destroy it, you can dual boot linux and the ipod operating system.

If something does go wrong 95% of the time the apple restore utility can fix it.

it wont ruin it all you have to do it wipe the hdd on it with the install that apple provides

the risk of bricking the iPod is less then 1%
