Catching up on P2P runescape!

Well I've been on a runescape break since August 2006 when I just didn't find anything fun to do in RS anymore. But not too long ago some guy started playing runescape and asked me for some help, I made a new pure to train with him and started enjoying RS again.... right before my exams too, I'll hear the results of those next Tuesday. Anyways I've been playing again for a bit over a month now and right after my exams I decided to get membership.

 

 

 

So, there have been loads of new updates and additions to runescape since I left 8 months ago that I don't know what to do first. I did lots of random things on Friday and spent most of the Saturday hunting, which I will continue doing till lvl 71. But then I really want to become the "runescape know-it-all/geek" I used to be again :P So I was wondering, what new items have been added that are useful in general while playing runescape ? I had done pretty much all quests when I quit but I guess 191 QP isn't much at all now anymore :P

 

So tell me about which quests have some useful rewards that I should do.

 

Also tell me about hidden updates/bugfixes that had influence on generic runescape playing.

 

Maybe tell me about minigame additions or any kind of useful item that has been added in some way.

 

Also I would like to know about getting around, I've been checking the getting around guide from tipit for updates but I'm sure there are some new methods of movement across the map which aren't mentioned there.

 

 

 

I have read pretty much all the update posts on the runescape page while I was away but I didn't always check the update thread on tipit forums about it so that makes me miss out on a lot of information :P

Ava's Accumulator/Attractor is almost a must. Most useful thing in the world. I use it all the time unless I'm doing melee combat in rune. If I can, I'll training in d hide simply so I can use the backpack. I've got at least 10k steel arrows from it.

 

 

 

Sounds like you quit about the same time I left, but I came back earlier so I've got more of a head start.

 

 

 

Fairy Tale 1 is also useful for the green secateurs that help with farming.

The Lunar spells are really handy if you're a skiller or slayer. As far as getting around, there's the trader boats, fairy rings[quest], and of course the teleport spells. Idk what you do and don't know, so i can't really elaborate on much.

Tell me about those trader boats, what are they ? I know about lunar spells, just didn't get around to doing the quest yet.

 

 

 

and mayjest, I am getting the accumulator as soon as I finish on hunting 71.

 

And I think you left a bit earlier then me :P I witnessed POH --> greatest update ever !!! and I also have my green secateurs :P lovely for herb farming, and I got to my goal (70 slayer) before the black mask was released, but If I'll go on slaying I'll make sure I get that mask :P

spottier cape and penance gloves aren't really must haves, they're only good for long trips with no tele. some things to get for your main... well do all the new high lvl quests, like dream mentor, they have good rewards like switching mage books anywhere(from dream mentor). there aren't many high lvl updates from '06 but do all the new quests and you'll have pretty much everything.

well the charter ships are mainly located at the larger docks. You can pay a small fee to travel to them. They's mostly used for getting to the extreme ends of the world i.e. Phasmatys or Port Tyras. It's just another way to get around really. It helps if you need to go from one end of the globe to the other.

Anyways thnx for the tip, I am definitely doing dream mentor but I doubt I'll really use those spells enough to stay on the lunar spells all the time.

 

And I think penance gloves and spottier cape are definitely necessary for a wannabe 91 rcer :P

 

So, I should just get a quest cape and I'll be fine ? :P

 

That's a good idea but now please tell me about the additions that aren't including in all quests, for examlpe barbarian assault, but I know about that one lol :P

Edit: Oh and also there's been a massive jewellry update, you can know make bracelets that go in the glove slot, I'll try and get a link to the kbase for you.

 

 

 

Also, Jagex introduced the 'Achievement Diary' so far there's only achievements in karamja, basically by doing certain tasks (like getting to a point in the fight caves, or growing a tree) cross off certain achievements, once you've finished a set of tasks you can claim a reward, the first one is a pair of gloves for the easy tasks the change the prices on karamja (being able to buy an onyx for 260k tokkul for instance :shock: ) and then the gloves will give you 10% extra exp from agility arena tickets for completeing all the medium tasks and finally for doing all the hard tasks, the gloves will telport you to a mine underneath shilo village filled with gem rocks.

Thanks but I know about the updates from last month, I was playing as a f2per during the last month and a bit and followed every news on tipit forums :P

 

 

 

But about doing Barbarian Assault with me !! :) Please add me ingame so we can go there together, I also want to get that fighter torso :P always nice to hit higher.

BA isn't a great update in my opinion, and the rewards aren't good for ur high lvl. hmmm besides hunter and PoH there aren't many out-of-quest updates. and yes i can read 500 words in a minute, i've been tested and i can read 562 words per min \ anyways, there haven't been any updates to really suit ur lvl, just new quests and PoH and hunter. so just work on those and good luck :thumbsup:

It gives more p points when you use a prayer potion, I also think it slows the drain rate, not sure. I think i might test it to see if the effect stacks with multiple wrenchs...

Well it seems there haven't been that many great additions then :P I'll just play and learn while I play and read forums :P And ask a lot of things to friends when I need help ingame :P

 

 

 

thnx jimbob, I don't think it can stack though :P seeing it's a quest item and all and it would be overpowered I suppose you can only have 1 at a time :P
