June 9, 200719 yr Legit copy, used my freinds copy Thats not legit then, you can only use it on 1 pc at a time. You did not pay for it, so it's not legit. Every computer you buy pre-built from a well known company has to pay for the operating system so it would be more than your prices.
June 9, 200719 yr I would go HP, simply because I have had more experience with them. Out of the 6 computers my family regularly uses, 5 of them are from HP! I have never had a bad experience with an HP computer that has not been remedied very quickly, and they have good configurations. Make sure you get Home Premium at least, I cannot stress this enough. The Aero interface alone is worth it, and with all the other extra features... I once shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.Pics or it didn't happen. I hate my generation.

Yeah, I heard Home Premium is better than basic, even though its a little more expensive. So im thinking im going to get a dell, i found a couple dells that looked pretty nice. Anyway.. Ima get 2gigs of ram, if the comp already has like 512mb or 1gig of ram how much will it cost to upgrade to 2 gigs?
June 13, 200719 yr The computer will most likely have 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM, but it could not. Just make sure that thats the type that it comes with. Then go to newegg.com and there are plenty of choices. You can get 2 gigs for as little as $70, maybe cheaper. With newegg, you will get really fast shipping, I've even gotten something that i ordered the next day. Here is a link to some ram that is only $70, and seems to have good ratings. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820208283

If you live in the United States you can check out the site http://www.newegg.com which has the cheapest prices around.
June 15, 200719 yr Author Ok guys, I got the dell magazine a few days ago and I'm planning on getting this computer 8-) Im planning on getting it with 2 gigs of RAM instead of its normal 1gig. Is it worth It? :-s I am planning to get it at this price. \
June 15, 200719 yr If you upgrade the ram yourself instaid of them doing it for you (and they will also charge you an arm and a leg). It has a good processor, a dedicated graphics card (granted it's not the greatest, but it's still something), awesome screen, and Vista Home Premium. Can't get too much better than that for that much money.

If they do it for you it's probably going to be $150. I was looking at getting 2GBs for a machine I was going to order and it was like $150 to go from 1GB to 2GB. RAM is the easiest thing to upgrade in a computer, it's plug and play. You would also save yourself around $100 because 1GB of ram is about $50. The 20" screen is extra, just so you know. It says 19" in the ad and a 20" is $150 upgrade, just to let you know so you don't get let down when ordering  .
June 15, 200719 yr don't get an ultra sharp monitor. the only difference between an ultra sharp monitor and a non ultra sharp monitor is 4 usb ports on the sides of the monitor on the ultra sharp. the resolution, color gamut and other things related to the actual picture are exactly the same.

June 24, 200719 yr Definately get Vista but don't nessecarially assume that hp and dell are good. In my experience smaller but still well known amoung the computing world companies such as , Evesham, Mesh also check out PC world. Some of the Dell Pc's i've haven't always been the best deal around. Hp is good though, but expensive for what you get. Try before you buy, do your research, you might want to consider a Macintosh or linux, just keep your options open :D wow, wow! I've found the meaning of life!Oh oh it's gone again.
