Obsidian shield: Better defense bonuses, nice strength bonus, no attack bonuses.

 

 

 

Rune defender: Fair defense, nice strength bonus, nice attack bonuses.

 

 

 

Obsidian shield: 300K, quick to obtain.

 

Rune defender: free, takes awhile to obtain.

 

 

 

Take your pick.

As you can see, the Rune Defender is far stronger in all offensive aspects, but is the Obsidian Shield worth buying for defense?

As seen here a simple Rune Kiteshield is better in all areas except range defense.

But whats this? A granite shield? The same in all defensive areas but without the strength bonus. Not only that, its a third of the cost of an Obsidian Shield!

 

 

 

 

 

Go get a rune defender, the Warriors Guild is very fun and gives good experience for your combat skills. If you're looking for defense get a rune kite or granite shield. Save your money for other cool stuff.

theyre all the same and i think obsidian sield is better for higher def.

I suppose it all boils down to what you need. Personally, I prefer getting equipment that I can quickly and easily replace in the event of an untimely disconnection that can potentially cause character death. Plus, it's good to have equipment that's suitable for most combat situations.

Rune defender. Obby shield is honestly a waste of money.
