August 13, 200718 yr Well for this one I need a sentence which I personally don't like, well here it comes..: IT'S JUST A GAME YO?! :-w . I mean weren't you that player who slayed the dragon or killed a rat...or a lovely chicken. That's sounds more like animal abuse to me than shooing a filfthy dog  ~Niels586 ~Hi.Is RSI like AIDs?

August 15, 200718 yr Shooing, not hurting a dog is Animal Abuse, but going into Lumbridge and killing innocent defenceless Men and Women is nice. It's amazing how the people that ranted about this didn't realize how hypocritical they were being. My F2P Moneymaking Guide!Always gargle before a takeoff. Wakka Wakka!
August 16, 200718 yr I belive the shooing dogs is more realistic than abusive. Think about it, in the general time frame RS represents, there would have been stray dogs in the streets, and mean people (likely kids) would have beet the poor dogs, or maby thrown rocks at it. Thankfully TB@JT didn't give us the "pumel dog with rocks" or "beat the [cabbage] out of dog" option. They just allow us to go thbiit, or whatever it is. As for making it look positive, I would dissagree. There is no positive benifit for people who shoo dogs (unless they were annoyed that the dog was following them). It just makes you look mean and stupid to the general public around you. And you can feed the dog bones, which makes it happy, so not all the interaction with stray dogs is negative, some of it is positive too! This is just a case where we are given greater flexibility to play the game a rewalisticly as possible.
August 16, 200718 yr this whole issue came about when someone(possibly the author) posted a link to a youtube video of how dogs are treated in other countries. why that was compared to shooing dogs in a virtual game, we may never know... the way of life we have in the states, europe, etc. are quite different than those of other places, and people who beleive they are humane enough to care about the welfare of dogs should know that. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
August 17, 200718 yr Whenever I witnessed the option to "Shoo-Away" the dog, I can't say that "Animal Abuse" came to my mind. JaGeX was just trying to spice up the Varrock update to make it look more real by placing dogs in alleys, resembling what it would be like in big cities. However, I can say that the option to "Shoo-Away" the dog isn't really necessary, and may be pushing the "bringing the scenery to life" concept that they were trying to create. If JaGeX is getting a whole lot of serious responses to this addition, then I believe that JaGeX should just remove the feature and be done with it. ~Rcty I disagree slightly, i am aware that this is a bit different but. If thousands of people camped outside the British houses of Parliament, complaining about Gordon Browns choice of tie colour during question time. Should he change it? Secondly, there is of course no way of being certain, but I wonder how many people who preach about kindness to animals practise what they preach in real life. How many jump on the bandwagon? How many are young people who are influenced by what others have said about the subject? I know it conflicts with my post but. I think this should be left to die in peace. Or at least shooed away :XD: And if you do all you can, that's all you can ever do. - Warren Rudman But men are men; the best sometimes forget. - William Shakespeare
