RuneScape is much more FUN than WoW. It lacks graphics but is much more FUN. Who plays for graphics? Not i.

RS is quite much the worst MMORPG when it comes to grinding. Maybe some Asian unknown MMORPG is even worse, but not a really big wellknown one. And they got a valid point on that one.

I tried it for a while and still play occasionally. The graphics are much more detailed but the animations are only a couple frames and the entire game is 2D, making the job much easier for the graphics team. (My friend still quit RS to play it though. :x Yes, the same friend that had said RuneScape was the best game ever just a few months earlier, the same one that got me going a year earlier. He played to 76+ fishing, 80+ cooking, 92+cb, and then called Runescape a (This is him, not me) "dumb 10-year-old ****ing stupid game that only *****es play" (or something to that effect.))RuneScape has perfectly fine graphics, and considering that it's written entirely in Java, the graphics are great. Jagex is already stretching the limits of Java with the current graphics, and having any better graphics might be a bad idea.

 

 

 

As to why people hate RS, I think it's because they might actually like other games better. True, the graphics are better in WoW (hardly surprising, considering it's a desktop game and RuneScape is 100% Java), and training is somewhat repetitive...but there are downsides. RuneScape is fair to all players, all levels, no matter what (in my opinion). WoW...my brother told me about how this group of players was hosting a funeral for a high-status player that had died in real life...and other players came and slaughtered them all. What's the point of that? Is that fair? Is that just? Is that what a game is supposed to be?

For these reasons, I remain with RuneScape, as the community is (normally) much better (except in World 57 Lumby...42 reports in 1 hour. :shock:)...and the game is just more fair, and, I think, better. I know people might think otherwise, but that's just my opinion..

To be fair, the game does have a hard learning curve. Of course there's tutorial island but I was unable to take in the stuff I was doing.

 

 

 

I remember in RuneScape Classic going through several days without realising that I could Right-Click to Trade and follow. When you start something new in RS, you only learn from your mistakes.

 

 

 

That's one of the reasons to why other people hate it. Also, I think it's because RS has so bad graphics compared to WoW for example.

People love to have something to hate. For MMO gamers, they pick in their opinion, the lowest game. Now they can hate it like all their WoW friends!
