Dark Bow Review and Comparison

The Dark Bow will replace the Crystal Bow for all occasions where picking up arrows is not a problem. In terms of strength the Dark Bow will wipe out the Crystal Bow in a heartbeat. Let's not forget that awesome spec as well. At lower ranger levels 50% may not seem like a huge deal but it is at higher range levels where that is the equivalent of 25 more than your normal maximum hit.

Ava's Attractor / Ava's Accumulator

 

 

 

 

 

You must complete Animal Magnetism to receive Ava's Attractor or Accumulator.

 

 

 

The Attractor works through a combination of hard science and strange magic, which allows it to accumulate lost arrowheads, as well as arrow shafts and feathers, as you wander the landscape. Because of the laws of magnetics, the Attractor will only gather iron or steel arrowheads. If you complete Ava's quest with a Ranged level between 30 and 49, you will receive Ava's Attractor, which will collect iron arrows; if you have a Ranged level of 50 or higher, you will receive Ava's Accumulator, which will collect steel arrows - there is no higher upgrade.

 

 

 

If you have the 'lower level' Attractor but later reach a Ranged level of 50, you can talk to Ava who will explain what she needs to upgrade it to collect steel arrows.

 

 

 

Every so often Ava's device will manage to pick up a few other metallic items like throwing knives and clockwork mice.

 

 

In addition to this, the device will collect most of your own arrows as you fire them, saving you from having to pick them up.

 

 

 

So picking up arrows isn't a problem.

Well, guys...it's not in my interest to say this...but...

 

 

 

I went to the bloodvelds and tried out the mage short bow, crystal bow, and dark bow each for 15 minutes.

 

 

 

The crystal bow (at 8/10) gave me about 12,500 exp, which is 50,000 exp/hour.

 

The mage short bow (with steel arrows) gave me about 10,500 exp, which is 42,000 exp/hour.

 

The dark bow (with steel arrows) gave me around 7,500 exp, which is 30,000 exp/hour.

 

 

 

Hence it's bad for training, but it is good for KO's. Even if you used addy arrows, the MSB would still, without doubt, be better than the dark bow (people usually request this be done since a crystal bow is eventually around 72 gp per shot when the price is lowest, which is the price of addy arrows about).

 

 

 

That's because you were using steel arrows; use broad arrows instead. Crystal bow shots are stronger than rune arrows so of course crystal will be hitting harder than steel arrows with the dark bow.

 

 

 

At 180k, the crystal bow arrows cost 72gp ea. Broad arrows are cheaper than that

Has anyone tested the thing hybriding at dks? bring the bow only for the spec?

 

 

 

And more imortantly, how does it work on kq second form. If you solo it seems a potentially good tactics to just whip the first form then use the bow on the second form using the "step in tactics". Has anyone given this a shot and if yes, how good does it work?

Are you on crack? Everyone notice them. they are huge.

 

 

 

You have probably seen the special with bronze-rune arrows. Then they are indeed smoke-bomb like.

 

 

 

But the special changes when you use dragon arrows to dragon heads.
