blade995
A 430w power supply is nowhere near enough to power a 8800gts. Get something 550watts or better. That 3800+ CPU will bottleneck a 8800gts (especially the 640mb). I recommend a Core 2 Duo CPU 4GB or ram is great and good to really future proof your rig but will not be needed anytime soon. You could cut it down to 2GB to save some money. You should not need a hard drive cooler if you get a good case with a intake fan blowing on the hard drive (or near it). Even with the 10k rpm drive. It would be nice to post the links of the items you are buying too  .
1alebcay
I'd agree with blade on almost everything he said. Don't skimp on your power supply. If you get a cheap power supply and it breaks, there is a good chance it can take your system with it. Also looking at your components it looks like you plan on doing some gaming. Most definately get a better CPU. I personally like AMD better than AMD, but right now I would go with an Intel Core 2 instead of an AMD. (Also if you do get an Intel you should try to get a motherboard with the 650i chipset) What has become of the runescape community???? :wall:There is a community? Nadril
Also I would be a bit weary on the 8000 series of Nvida cards. In all the tests that have been done so far they haven't fared "that" well in DX10 tests, it may be better to wait for the 9000 series to come out later this year. Other than that I agree with everything blade said. Also links would be nice. :)
das1330
If I were you I would go with an intel cpu as stated by the others here, like a core 2 duo or a core 2 quad. for a power supply, you need more watts then that, so I would recommend at least 550 watts, preferably around 600-700 watts. This power supply has worked nicely for me: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817153040 its much more expensive then the one you posted, but a bad power supply, or a cheap one tends to take the computer its powering with it when it dies. As far as a sound card, unless you are a real audiophile a high end gaming motherboard's integrated audio is plenty. As far as motherboards go, any board from Asus or EVGA is good, just make sure it has a nvidia 680i chipset. the 680i is nvidia's high end gaming chipset, while the 850i mentioned by another person is their mid range gaming chipset. here are some good motherboards: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131074 - the striker extreme, a very expensive motherboard but the absolute top of the line at the moment, and the fastest thing out there. most of the evga line is great, just stick with the 680i chipset. some of them are: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813188013 the most expensive evga motherboard. a good fast gaming board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813188015 a less expensive evga board, but still containing the 680i chipset. blade995
The whole Nvidia 6 series chipset is the same except the 650i has SLI with 2 8x pci-e lanes while the 680i has pci-e with 2 16x lanes. Other than that there is not much difference. Getting the more expensive 680i chipset would be a waist without SLI and just cost you more money with no benefit. das1330
But if you plan on ever adding another grahpics card to sli them, a 650i chipset wont do becasue you need 2 x16 slots, not x8.
blade995
But if you plan on ever adding another grahpics card to sli them, a 650i chipset wont do becasue you need 2 x16 slots, not x8. You can do it with 8x but it would obviously be slower than 16x. Although most graphics cards do not even use the full 8x bandwidth, so it may have no difference at all. By the time you want to SLI a graphics card because your not getting enough performance you could just get 1 single card thats faster. Unless you just want to have a computer with SLI to be cool and don't care about performance.

Futurama
Can I ask why you opted for a midi case? They might be small but the ventilation is usually quite shoddy compared to full size cases, plus you can whack more stuff in your comp with a full size. Mid cases are still a decent size, I would be willing to bet a lot of desktop PCs you buy from places like dell use a mid size case.
das1330
all of the big manufacturers (hp, dell, gateway) use mid cases, except for the dell XPS, which uses a full size case.
dsavi
I reccomend a bit faster processor, possibly an AMD Anthlon X2 64 4000 or 4400+, if it's in your price range.

blade995
SLI is pointless unless your some person with deep pockets. Why did you SLI 2 midranged cards? I'm sure it costed more money to do that then buy a top of the line card and get better performance.
