Hello, I'm really tired of losing internet connection during a fight or while skilling. Last time I was killing iron drags when i lost connection, i tried to re-enter to the server as fast as possible to save my player but it told me "Cannot connect to server" I tried again and then entered. After a while i lost connection again.

 

 

 

It is happening to me quite commonly. It is very frustrating and it never happened to me since. I don't know whats going wrong. Does it have to do with my internet connection or with the Runescape server?? Pls help me!! ty

Probably your internet connection.

 

 

 

If not that, you are on a full world, which normally causes connection loss.

it happens to me alot, maybe your internet cable is dameged or ,if you have to stretch cable every time you connect, then it could be that someone has accidently disconected it

If it was the RS server, the error message would be more specific as to the nature of the fault... i.e. "World Full".

 

 

 

Understandably, you want to save your plunder and log back into the same world, but next time try switching servers and if the error repeats, then you know it's your connection and not RS. Then try other sites altogether just to be sure.

 

 

 

If it's your connection, then reinstall/update your modem drivers. If the problem persists beyond that, you should contact your ISP

But it seems that the connection is only from the Runescape website because all the other website that i have open work normally. Also i played runescape for a year and a half and it never happened to me. It only started about two weeks ago. And its not an issue of a full world because i hate using worlds with a lot of people. Let me describe what happens exactly....

 

 

 

First the players and the npcs stop moving (both on the mini map and the main screen), i try to move on the mini map and the red flag indicating the destination moves with the click of the mouse, but the player doesnt move. Then the red flag stops moving aswell and then it says "Connection Lost - Please wait" after that i log out from runescape. When i try to enter again the first time it says " Cannot connect to server", then i try again on the same server and it enters.

your own internet connection, maybe?

 

or world either full or just made too far from your country :?

 

 

 

if i use 137 or 138, i never get that connection lost, exept when i kick my modem box :lol:

To check if the problem is with you or the runescape site, next time you get connection problems switch to another brower window and try going to any of your bookmarked sites.

 

If the other sites come straight up while the runescape connection still hangs that tends to indicate a rs problem. If the other sites take ages to load and/or come up with an "unable to connect" message its aproblem your end or with your ISP.

 

Personally I have suffered from both, on occasion.

 

And as one person above said, going to a full server is riskier than normal when you are somewhere really dangerous like metal drags cos you WILL get more lag then.

 

On occasions where I seem to be having a few problems with connection I make sure I do something not too risky, and stash my good gear in the bank.

 

 

 

Oh, and don't PK in full barrows during a thunderstorm :)

Another way to tell if it is your connection is that Teamspeak or other internet programs will disconnect at the same time.

 

 

 

With me it's almost always my internet connection.

Start -> run -> "cmd" -> okay.

 

 

 

Type "ping -t http://www.google.com" without the quotes and let it sit in the background. This will let you know (up to the second) whether or not you're connected to the internet, and use (barely) any cpu or bandwidth. It will not interfere with any programs or anything.

 

 

 

When I have a shaky connection, this is the first thing I do. It's fast, easy, friendly, and most importantly informative.

 

 

 

The best thing you can use this for is it will let you know as soon as you can log back in by seeing when it starts responding (it will be one of the first things to start working.)

 

 

 

You can make it more up-to-date by typing "ping -t http://www.google.com -w 800" I believe - when I was on dialup, that's what I used to do and it actually made me stop dropping my connection while I was away.

Could be your ISP, or if you're using Wifi or WLAN that the connection is bad.
