Best Method of Slaying Mithril Dragons?

Featured Replies

What is the best way to kill Mithril Dragons? Melee, Mage, or Range?

I'd say rune crossbow with ruby and diamond tipped rune olts would be the best way. 8-)

range is looking to be the best method, head over to rate this and a guy hit 50 with range.

The problem with range is that we can't click on the mithril dragons faster than the magers can since they just have to click on the spell and then hover it over them while we have to right click and then attack.

Other than that yes range is the best

Hey, I pack Wind Strikes along with my Cammy tele 8-). I'm the guy that hit 50 with range in rate this. Ruby/Diamond tipped bolts are pretty good, but I will run out of the bolts eventually. I guess I'll switch to fire bolt when it happens.

You're video is very very confusing. I can't tell what exactly you're doing, what the purpose of the crossbow is, and what spell you're using. You should add some text in to explain exactly what you're doing.

No matter what method you use bring runes to cast at least air strike, then you can have the chance of getting the first strike as well as they can. I've actually found it helpful to just find a corner and talk to the people there and start taking turns.

I melee the mithrils and just turn protect from melee on and I kill as fast as someone using a rune crossbow and eat just the same, unless they keep protect from magic on.

The bonus of just getting to know your "corner" mates is you can help the rangers out by getting their bolts for them and dropping back at their feet and they can help out (magers too) by attacking the dragon first and then backing up and letting you hit if other incooperative people interrupt you

As of now I can't say what's better because each technique is killing around the same amount of time given the same skill level really. I can melee one with black dragonhide on with protect melee on as easily as my mate ranging, and vice versa.

I don't think there is a "secret" best way to killing mithrils at the time. No matter how you attack they can hit you back and it's very very balanced no matter how you approach it.

Edit: Though crossbow with diamond bolt tips seems to be the best way around ... pierces through defense, :P

I saw a group of people go in with Verac's hoping to use the set effect on them. Wouldn't that be better than a whip?

This would be fairly efficient if anti-fire pots had a stronger protection against dragon fire. You pretty much get eaten alive even while the potion is in effect.

Are you winning The Game?

Yeah, with using just antifire potions instead of a shield you might be hitting harder and through the defense, but you will be getting hit as said above more for not having a shield with you.

It seems at least for the first day, Jagex found a way to balance this out pretty well. I haven't really seen one "definitive" way of killing mithril dragons yet. All have advantages but in the end seem to balance out.

On top of that if you go in with full verac you will need to pray magic or you will get hit hard and lot with the penalties, and the melee with hit you still on top of dragonbreath passing the potion's effect.

If you just pray melee with full verac on the magic will tear you open, trust me quite a few people were proud new owners of "verac's helm (0)" today.

Edit: Actually honestly, I think I got better drops of death piles then the actual dragons today. I almost got a zerker ring but someone beat me to it, but I got the rune platebody, rune platelegs, and rune boots off the drop which leads me to wonder what else this guy was carrying with him to save over all of the above. Before then I also got two glories and one ring of wealth and quite a bit of food.

I mentioned the verac helm (0) because two people I know got that off a death pile ...

Ouch, I didn't think of the shield.

Damn, I should have followed them... *Thinks of the free helmet*
