Nice one.

I think it's because four (five, if you want to include The Big Money) of the eight songs on the album start with M (Mystic Rhythms, Marathon, Manhattan Project, Middletown Dreams). Rush seem to put a lot of little jokes like this into their liner notes. =P

Which Rush instrumental is part of a non-existent series?

That's the one =P Where's My thing? is listed on the CD as being "Pat IV of the Gangster of Boats trilogy".

Which album did Rush first record an "epic" on? Note: an epic is any song that uses chapters, for instance Natural Science, not just one of the big three.

Hard one for you. Name one UNRECORDED Rush song. There are only two that I know of. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure he took a break to take a motorcycle tour of America, and then published "Ghost Rider: Travels on the Healing Road". And nobody's answered my question: What is one UNRECORDED rush song?

Good to have someone new to play with. =P

Sorry, I don't know the answer to that. It's hard.

Well, there are three that I know of - Fancy Dancer, You Can't Fight It and Garden Road. I'm sure there are others, though.

Hemispheres? :?

Nope. Earlier in the thread, we talked about the 'synthesizer age' starting with Signals. You can really hear a difference in the band's music at this point - they agreed that Alex should take more of a background role for a while, and bring Geddy's synths to the front. It ended with Hold Your Fire being the final album, and with Presto Alex came into more prominence.

What was Geddy Lee's first solo album called?

My Favourite Headache?

Which collaboration earned Geddy (not Alex or Neil - it was in the break between Test for Echo and Vapor Trails) a Top Ten pop hit?

Correct.

I have no idea. I definitely know Rush, I do! :(

Hehe, you're getting the hard ones. It was Great White North, with Bob and Doug Mackenzie.

When was Rush founded, and by who? I know, it's easy. I'll think of a better one later.

I think '68, and by Geddy, Alex and John Rutsey.

Why did John Rutsey leave the band after their first tour?

  • 2 weeks later...
He got kicked out, right? Or did he quit? Was it because of Peart?

He quit because he had diabetes, so couldn't tour, and didn't like touring anyways.

Which band member's house does Rush usually record at?
I dunno. I'd guess Geddy's though.

Easy one. Which album is the only one that deals with love and sex?

And no, it's Counterparts (The Speed of Love, Cold Fire and Alien Shore). Does S&A have songs that deal with love and sex? I don't think so... Maybe though. =S

For those of you REALLY interested in Rush, there's a thing called Champion Your Band that assassin_696 and Led-Zeppelin have set up. I'm doing Rush, and I've just submitted my post to assassin. It should be up and running within a couple days, and I expect you all to post on it - there's been a lot of work put into it. It's a lonnnnggggg post, full of Rush facts and entertainment for all of you. (hint - if every one of you doesn't read at least some of it and comment on it, I'll stab you all in the face.)

Okayy... New trivia question.

Where did Neil Peart go to try his luck in music before returning to Canada? This was pre-rush.

Didn't he try to get a record deal with his band?

When did Neil Peart get his first drum/drumset? At what age, and what was it?

I was going to do that campaign-your-band thing for Rush...If I ever got some damn free time. What was your slant/angle?
