July 12, 200718 yr What is the fastest, and best way to raise your smithing lvl from 66 to 99, without losing money. Money does not have to be made, as long as it comes out around even. Thanks for your help! You are awesome for putting "~Shadow" in your signature and not at the bottom of your posts ~Shadow
July 12, 200718 yr I don't think you can do it without losing money.. Unless maybe you buy steel, make arrow tips, then make arrows and sell em. Then you get some fletching xp. Aside from that, I don't think you can.
July 12, 200718 yr Buy 1k Mith Ore Buy 1k Nature Runes Buy 10k Feathers Mine 4k Coal Superheat 1k Mithril bars Smith the bars into 10k Mithril Bolts Flight the bolts by adding feathers. Sell the bolts. Use this same method for addy. Once you can make Rune Axes, I believe it is a profit in it's own. Also, making Iron Knives, and Cannonballs also are profitable, but much slower. Be sure to calculate the amount the materials would cost, and how much you can sell the end product for before beginning your task. Have fun. :) PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
July 12, 200718 yr Well i'm personally doing C balls to 99 (95/99 atm) Thats 12k Xp an hour very very slow! :-k But then you got mith bolts like 20k Xp an hour which kinda break even i heard. :-w But with C balls ur starting at about the same lvl so i'd say you'd make 90M or so at 99 after u sell all the balls and profit off. July 12, 200718 yr I used to level smithing by soloing the blast furnace and making a combination of steel and mith arrowheads as well as steel plates. By doing this, you can manage to not lose money. Making gold bars using the goldsmithing gauntlets is extremely fast, but gold ore is very expensive while gold bars sell for almost nothing. You can offset the loss by buying gold ore on f2p worlds and then using your bars to make rings of dueling and forging and then selling those on p2p worlds. I found making cannonballs to be very slow.
July 12, 200718 yr Cannonballs are slow for sure... There a way to combine power mining and smithing in one operation. After you get access to Phistashios Colony, you can mine load of iron ore, quickly go to the furnace (right behind the wall), make iron bars and smith them right there into iron sheets, sell/drop sheets and repeat the process. This method makes both mining and smithing go up. No money lost and it is pretty quick. You just need some rings of forging. Runescape Reader's Digest
July 12, 200718 yr My personal method for smithing (which got me 2 or 3 levels in around 3 hours or so, and I'm level 66 or something) was soloing the blast furnace and making Steel Platebodies. I even bought all my ore from the store. What I did was bought my stuff from the store, and manipulated my inventory so I could hold 25 steel bars. Make 5 plates and then alch them. I think I ended up profiting about 70k in about 240 plates(?). You may have to switch worlds every so often for a fresh stock of ores, but it's still rather consistent if you have the Nature Runes for it. I would recommend making your own Natures or try and finding them for VERY cheap, because I think you spend upto 1250gp for Steel Plates when both Coal and Iron are at low stocks (however, those prices are offset by the disproportionatly less costs when the stocks are full). Whoa... "disproportionatly" is the longest word I've ever type on these forums... 17 letters, I think that's actually a record for longest word typed in full context on here... don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
