New Pixel WIP [Update]

Featured Replies

Not really going for much here. This is my third or fourth pixel.

[hide=First Draft]

I'm trying to decide whether I like the top water pattern or the bottom.

Update 2: Added the moon and stars. Straightened the horizon slightly. Working on the reflection of the moon on the water. Can't get it right.

The top water looks very realistic. Good job, if only I knew how to make waves that wall  . (though, you should probably straighten your horizon, it would take but 3 seconds to do, nothing compared to the rest of the work on the sig :P .)

The bottom looks like... well, like blue fur. First one beats it easily.

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

The top is good for an oceany theme, if you add a few zig-zaggy highlights to the bottom one it would look good as a still water lake.

No, the earth is round, so the horizon is slightly curved.

I like the bottom one better, I think the waves on the first one look really odd.

I'm looking forward to seeing the finished pixel. Good job. :)

No, the earth is round, so the horizon is slightly curved.

Actually, I always thought that the Earth was too large for us normal human beings to distinguish an actual curve. We'd always see it as a straight line, as our sight is too narrow to perceive the actual curve of the Earth. Have a look at pictures and stuff of horizons that aren't blocked by trees, hills, etc. It's a line.

It looks a lot neater with just a line than a curve, in my opinion, anyway.

Anyway, I reckon the top one is better - it's got more shape as an ocean, like Ville said. The bottom one just looks like random lines to me. :|

Both could do with a little more depth in the water, though. Ie, more shades, etc. It would be nice to have something else in the image too. :)

Good luck, mate. :D Have a read through tutorials and stuff - I myself still read through them at times and still manage to learn something new. ^^
