Gathering Gems

Sirgatory

Recommended Posts

So I was crafting in al kharid earlier today, when a 'scaper walks into the bank selling gems. A level 116 quickly hovers over to trade him, and offers. His offer is then accepted and he preceeds to his bank to get money.

Meanwhile, I trade the guy to look at his collection. He has 166 diamonds, 276 rubies, and 400 something emeralds.

I ask him how he got such a collection, which his reply was "sorry, I can't tell you"

He assures me he did not get them from mining rocks/gem rocks.

Can anyone else fill me in on how to collect nice amounts of gems?

PS - he also said it was all from 1 days work.

Thanks in advance,

My old signature had to do with PKing the classic way.

Unfortunately, that is no more.

I have never gotten that many gems from 1 days of work. I suspect he hacked and or scammed someone. Not in all my days have I ever collected that many gems doing anything that gives gems...

Idiot

To get that many diamonds, he must have merchanted them, which means he probably merchanted the whole lot, although you can easily get that many rubies and emeralds in a day from thieving the wall safes in the rogue's den.

Well he said he was looking for a permanent gem buyer. So I suspect there is a special way he gets them.

Quote him "I need a permanent UNCUT buyer"

So IDK.

None of those sound feasible. Especially not the gem store one... They dont stock gems (barring sapphys and emeralds) and that would take forever to get that many.

I would like to know this as well :P Someone please help lol

He probably bought them in busy F2p Worlds, in Areas like Lumbridge or Varrock... When i used to craft my gems, i have thousands and at any time, because i advertised them on forums like this or Runescape Community.

Its very likely he was a merchant... Or just a spaceman.

i suppose he/she could have stuck a heap of money into MTK and then left it for a month or more and he/she has just collected them. That would get you quite a lot

Barrows drops: Guthan helm (1), Vearc skirt (1)

Dragon drops: 0

Rune drops: Rune med (2), rune full (1)

I think thieving is close, but not gem stalls. Have a look at the safes in the rogues den. Get some lowly food, a lock pick and a stethoscope and steal an inventory full of gems. The bank is real close too :-)
