DAG 2? The right way.....just some thoughts tip art boards

However, I think a sort of entry piece should be mandatory - because, let's face it, it will otherwise be flooded with "big cloud render pieces with overlayed premade-brushes ontop".

Yes, it will probably hurt peoples' feelings, but I think it's necessary, none the less. You could place the lath (correct word?) quite low, so that you don't have to be an expert to be allowed in.

Meh, just my thought on the matter...

That is exactly the reason why all should be allowed in. A place to where the artistically-illitterate can learn to better themselves. The very reason the last board failed was due to the fact that it wasn't public-open. Even in the end, when the reqs were lax, nobody bothered to enter. It was basically just a hang out for the more serious artists here.. which doesn't make much sense.

The point of this should be to better others, as well as ourselves; to improve the overall quality of art on Tipper. If we ignore the people who need the most help, what would we have accomplished...? If this is going to turn out as another 'guild', I don't want to be part of it. I don't differentiate myself from others so openly to better my appearance. If you guys want a place to hang out, im sure you could have a clan board erected for you. I, prefer however, to teach and learn. After all, isn't that one of the main things that we, as a race, do?

No, Azv, im not kicking you. XP. You've just been a conveniently unfortunate match to my bottle-rocket preachings. ^^;

Thanks sub for clarifying the issues.

It was not until after the DAG closed and I stumbled onto the elite graphics forum that I realized how strongly some people were offended by the dag. They were crushed that they didn't get in. Now I know, this is life, it is bound to happen. But just because life sucks doesn't mean we have to. I would like to not have ANY requirements to get in.

Besides, we are all attention hounds, who would exclaim over our work?

Now a real problem will be cross posting. Some will want twice the attention and post whatever it is in both...that would be bad....

So maybe what we should do is this;

1) Ask Wyrm to start locking more stuff that we don't like,

2) Start posting so much more "art" type stuff and WIP's that it will convince other people to do the same.

If we change their attitudes about it and they see us doing it, perhaps we can get rid of some of the things we talked about we didn't like. This is, afterall, the media board. It just so happens that people sell signatures here

It sounds as though something may be in the works...but may be a bit. This is an unnoficial pronouncement.

*crosses fingers* I really do hope this board gets a helping hand; I miss hanging out here... sorta. More of a nostalgia thing.. oh.. I HATE YOU ALL!!!111

:wink:

There was supposed to be something happening a few months ago but it was like top-secret... I haven't heard anything else about it... maybe since you brought this topic up they are reconsidering. If I've said too much, just delete my post; you don't have to kill me. :-o

Any chance we can get the ball rolling? Half of the threads now are some immature [cabbage] about fruits with names...I'd really like a more mature/sophisticated place to converse about art..

Not sure yet...letting wyrm kind of push it.

But I have seen a lot more sketch/art posts!

Let's keep it up!
